First of all, this movie is a confusing one. Its a mess of a movie, one that has its themes jumping all over the place. At first it seems like a story centered around family, of the happenings of a single parent dad trying to raise his only daughter along with his own mother. The movie takes a very ham-handed approach when it comes to showing how "close" the parent and child are. By showing scenes of them together not once, not twice but thrice! And none of the scenes are subtle, they are very clearly laid out to get the point across that the daughter and father in question have a close relationship. Establishing the fact that they have a close relationship is fine but the way its presented is ridiculous. The first scene alone established their relationship, there was no need to have so many scenes with the same message. It only lengthened the time and reduced the quality of the movie.
Secondly, the romance sub plot seemed completely unnecessary. A vast majority of the time spent on it was centered around the daughter of the protagonist so when it seemed like the main male and female leads weren't going to end up together. It wasn't shocking or sad, it actually made sense cause they hardly had any spark or connection to begin with. In fact the only real connection visible was between the female lead and the daughter character, that was the only relationship capable of garnering any sympathy. But even that gets thrown under the bus when the female lead literally gets over the male lead in like a day and goes after another guy. Moving on is one thing but it was comical how fast the female lead got over the male lead. Yes, it wasn't permanent and she still had feelings for the male lead but it was just hilarious how quickly she switched from one marriage proposal to the next.
Lastly, the friendship plot line in the last half of the movie. I honestly don't know what to make of it but its nothing positive. The character presented seemed rushed, added so that there is drama and certain plot holes could be filled. Both the male lead and his friend were very over dramatic. The friend character is friendly initially but then turns hostile after awhile. Then he seems to go through a redemption arc which makes it all better somehow? The last bit of the movie is also littered with flashbacks.
All in all, this movie is a muddled mess of story lines with characters that are either one dimensional or hardly developed. A beginning that takes too long to get going and a story that isn't worth watching. Not recommended at all.
