Competent but utterly mediocre XXX romance
Quasarman aka Mike Quasar is a pornographer with thousands of credits and the occasional creative film (I loved "Memoirs of a Madam" from early in his career and the recent quality Elsa Jean feature "Devil Inside") to his name, but this Wicked Pictures romance shows his limitations. The acting is fine, sex okay, but the predictable story is so familiar as to promote yawns rather than thrills.
Poorly cast romantic leads Tommy Pistol and Aaliyah Love take the length of the feature to turn from best friends into lovers with an inevitability that is beyond cliche. Along the way, the twists and turns of Mike's script fail to develop, as instead he merely throws in extraneous sex scenes as an end in themselves.
For example, current superstar Angela White (arguably the Jenna Jameson of the current generation in terms of popularity) has the initial sex scene with Aaliyah's boyfriend Donny Rock, putting our star in a funk when she catches them together after his money shot.
Her best friend played by Brett Rossi is a more interesting character (and more glamorously beautiful) than our leading lady, and Quasarman would have been wise to have swapped their roles and made Rossi the center of attention. Similarly, Pistol, a favored player of Mike's, is unappealing and hardly a candidate for a romantic lead, making his ultimate hook-up with Aaliyah an anti-climax.
Along the way, Blair Williams and AJ Applegate pop-up for a threesome with Pistol's buddy Small Hands which is very awkwardly shoe-horned into the narrative, and another big star Chanel Preston is wasted in a nothing role. Quasar's dialog is lousy, e.g., Aaliyah declaring to Tommy: "Why can't I find a guy who's just like you but isn't you!", belaboring the obvious.
Mike handles the camerawork himself and the movie is drab and color-drained, hardly befitting a decently budgeted Wicked feature.
