The 2nd world war history of the hungarian people, and the clamp against freedome inserted by the russians throughout the cold war, you may nod your head in reckognizion. i went as a child on summer holidays in the early -70's, and did run slalom inbetween russian soldiers at the gellerthegy cittadel that overviews the city of budapest, searching for my family that id løost in the citystreets.being a norwegian child with no language knowledge but with good sense of orientation, found my way back to the car at the park site at the citadell, being conforted and fed with soldiers chocolate, till my heard came strolling as if nothing had happened at all. thereafter ive always scouted my whereabouts to be able to find my track back to safety...but thats another story...

this film seems to me as very mixed on emotions, it has a story thats easymade, and ive seen the composition before, buit its hungarian, with pretty good acting, good traditional outfitting, nice cgi's, and where possible, nice choice of locations.

its a slow burning thriller black comedy that you either love or hat, so i shall not decide wether to see or not. i give it a 6 thanks to the subtitles that made the grumpy old man understand.

Very good tale

Attila Szász is my favorite hungarian director. He is the hungarian Tarantino. In this movie also dominate his style, very good acting, photography, quiet tension and violent grand finale. Loved this movie.

The story keeps you engaged, really clever use of photography and composition. Knowing a little bit of the sinopsys won't make any good, go watch it.

Solid neonoir thriller

Story based on classical pattern (two men and one woman), but very fresh, solid, neonoir, with great soundtrack and brillant micro twists.

Its basic virtues - it represents a pure example of Central European film. For story, cinematography and perspectives about people in war. A story about a con man, papers annuncements, a family and a refuge, romance and the returned brutal husband , a fundamental change of behavior and a fundamental option. A film about war , defining, in precise - delicate manner , realities after it , decisions and changes.

Incredible Noir Film!

I don't normally review movies and actually this is my first review, but wow. This has to be one of the best films I have seen in a long long time. I would even go far to say this was a masterpiece of a film. "Tall Tales" nailed the noir/Hitchcock feel while being suspenseful and intense. I was hooked the whole time and it for sure took me on an incredible journey through the 40s. Music to the cinematography was just amazing. I one hundred percent recommend watching "Tall Tales"!
