Cute, but unoriginal and little educational value
geccleshandyside26 August 2018
A good show for kids new to horses and equestrian sports and practices, but for kids who already have experience they will likely notice very obvious errors in the show (incorrect terms, docile horses referred to as crazy, bad handling techniques, 'neglected' horse has been clipped and had its mane trimmed).

It follows the same old 'daughter has a special bond with at-risk horse(s) and her parents and everyone around her (minus one character, who's always a sassy, rich girl) think she's the real deal, meanwhile the facility is at risk of closing' story.

The child actors are pretty bad: quirky but over the top. The best actor is the main characters best friend, as she's fun and engaging, everyone else comes off very flat, scripted and awkward.

The series does have a lot of music and funny (for kids) moments, so kids will likely find it entertaining.

Cute, Clean show

This is a really cute show that is perfect for the little girl (or boy) that loves animals! It reinforces friendship, kindness, compassion and helpfulness! My 7yr old LOVES this show! She has watched the episodes over and over! I love that the kids are so helpful and respectful not only of the adults, but of the other kids in the show! I wish there were more shows like this out there!!

If you were expecting this to be like The Saddle Club be prepared to be let down. The acting is bad, the script writers have clearly never met a "dangerous horse" and everything is predictable. If you have young kids i guess this show might interest them but if your child is old enough and going through a pony phase put Free Rein or The Saddle Club on. Try again Netflix.

Horrible acting

The acting is horrible, most of the cast are kids that I haven't seen anywhere so it's kinda understandeable and it would go a bit I noticed if the storyline wasn't so forced

Safe for younger kids

My 4 year old loves it. The plot lines are simple, interactions between kids and adults are respectful. It's safe for her to watch, which is hard to find these days. I like that I don't have to worry about the content and it holds her attention.

Bad...just bad

Terrible storyline and acting. Painful to watch - and I watch a lot of children's shows with my daughter. There are so many more enjoyable options to choose from.

Great messaging for kids

There are a lot of horse properties out there for young girls to watch, but there isn't one around rescue. I didn't even know that rescue horse ranches existed. The lead character Skye starts an after school club at her family's ranch with her schoolmates to look after the horses. The series teaches responsibility and empathy towards animals. It is a great series for girl 6-9 years-old. It is available on Netflix.

I haven't watched this whole series, I watch about 20 minutes with my younger sister and that's all I needed to see. 0 effort, 0 budget, 0 acting skill, 100% lazy , %100 un creative If you want something for your kids show them something good (by kid shows standards) like little Einstein's or peppa pig or we bare bears. Nuff' said.

Family favorite

My boy and girl, now ages 12 and 10 with special needs, watch the episodes over and over, and I love that they are being exposed to all the real life challenges, lessons, and coping skills.

Laughably bad

The only entertainment value is in laughing at this show. Just because it's made for children doesn't excuse poor writing and wooden acting from the adults. Grandpa Beefcake looks like a fashion ad, not someone who works with animals for a living, and hotty mom doesn't look old enough to have a daughter that age. The casting looks like it was done by a focus group checking boxes for "appeal" rather than ability.

Painfully Bad

This isn't a show as much as it is a bunch of children and adults standing around delivering excruciatingly bad speeches about how wonderful and empathetic and perfect they all are!

The acting is very stilted (children and adults), the script is embarrassing, and it all comes across as so cheaply-made I was cringing while I watched.
