When count Florentin Dennstein dies, his posh family expects the castle and estate in Steiermark (Styria, Austria) to be divided between his son Felix, grandson Ferdinand, widow and other kin. However the notary validates the explicit stipulation of a generous third of the family fortune for illegitimate son Fritz Lanner, whose late mother was a castle maid. Unknown to the legitimate family, he runs and organic farm with wife Laura and initially intends to wave his share, until haughtily insulted by count Felix. His ex Dr. Therese Schwarz, who still has a crush on handsome hunk Fritz, offers her services as his attorney, against employer Dr. Biron's law firm interests. In-law Dr. Susanne Reiter acts as Dennstein lawyer and offers a quick one million buy off, but Terese prefers to fight in court, only to find dirty secrets and loyalty conflicts keep complicating matters, while Ferdinand sides with Fritz.
