"Wolves and a Door"

As someone who was a big fan of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," this episode felt like a bit of a nostalgic fan trip. The idea of bringing back the legacy of Mortis into the fold was something that I thought they might do, but never expected. The deeper parts of "Star Wars" lore are about to be explored and whether or not it may be a little late for that, we will have to wait and see. This episode was fun and exciting, and even though it didn't offer a big action sequence, which I had expected it would, there was a lot of tension as Ezra and Sabine were constantly running from detection. The episode featured a triumphant return of the Emperor, who we haven't seen in figure yet, but have heard before. This time, Ian McDiarmid is back in the role and it's just a treat to listen to him talk. I think the episode needed a little more to it, and it felt kinda short even though the pacing wasn't that fast. It was a great episode, nonetheless, and it sets up a lot of exciting aspects of the mythology to be explored in the final episodes. Hopefully, that includes a little more of the Emperor coming into the fold too.

Warning: Spoilers
Season 4 has, in my opinion, been the most consistent season of the whole show. The quality has rarely dropped, if ever, and the tone and narrative have all been very consistent.

This one was very cinematic. The wolf riding scene looked and sounded breathtaking with that animation and the music playing over it, and chopper getting picked up by one of the wolves LOL

With the inclusion of the Emperor and some unique animation in those paintings, the stakes were just raised higher than ever. I'm both anxious and excited to see how this show ends!

Mortis Lock

Fascinating mystical explorations ensue in this episode as the Emperor's agent Hydan and Ezra both try to gain access to the Jedi temple.

This leads to very intriguing developments which left me extremely eager to find out where this was leading.

The reintroduction of the concept of the Mortis Gods from Clone Wars was exciting and mysterious whilst the power of the force continued to intrigue and interest me greatly.

This shows real craft in building a story using the past, the present and the future threads of this wonderful saga.

My rating: 9.5/10.
