In collaboration with “Clerks” mastermind Kevin Smith, Logic’s newest music video for his stoner anthem “Highlife” reunites the film’s cast. The video features Logic as the star at the original New Jersey Quick Stop set.
“Clerks” (1994) follows clerks Dante and Randal’s daily debauchery at a New Jersey convenience store. “Clerks II” premiered in 2006 and “Clerks III” in 2022. All of the “Clerks” films, along with Smith’s other works such as “Mallrats” (1995), “Chasing Amy” (1997) and “Dogma” (1999), are part of his fictional universe, referred to as “View Askewniverse.”
The music video’s cast includes Smith as Silent Bob, Brian O’Halloran as Dante, Jeff Anderson as Randal, Jason Mewes as Jay, Matt Ranieri as Mooby and Ernie O’Donnell as Trainer.
Logic has long admired Kevin Smith’s work. Smith direct messaged the rapper on Instagram to join “Clerks III,” but the rapper missed the alert. Once the creators did connect,...

Trixie Mattel does some multitasking in the video for “C’mon Loretta,” silencing a tennis court foe and paying homage to a country great in one fell swoop. The song appears on the drag star and songwriter’s upcoming double LP The Blonde & Pink Albums, due in June.

The reason behind Netflix's cancellation of Julie and the Phantoms is as mysterious as the show's well-dressed villain.
Why cancel a show with an audience score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes and nearly a million loyal followers on Instagram?
"Fantoms," as the most devoted fans call themselves, are baffled and heartbroken.
From renowned director Kenny Ortega, Julie and the Phantoms follows 15-year-old Julie Molina (Madison Reyes) a year after her mother's death. When she puts on one of her mom's old CDs, she unwittingly releases the three striking members of the band Sunset Curve.
The kicker: they're all dead.
To convince you why Julie and the Phantoms deserves a second season, let's start with why its first season attracted so many to their screens.
There would be no Julie and the Phantoms without, well, Julie and her phantoms. The bond between the titular characters is the show's beating heart.

“You only live once but you can rock forever,” promises the tagline in the first trailer for Netflix’s Ya musical series Julie and the Phantoms. To which we say…rad.
Julie and the Phantoms is a nine-episode series set to arrive to Netflix on September 10. It follows high schooler Julie (Madison Reyes) struggling to regain her passion for music after the loss of her mother. Thankfully, some rockin’ ghosts from the distant past (1995) will soon arrive to help out. Check out the first full trailer below.
“Why have you been keeping those cute boys a secret?” one character asks. Why indeed, Netflix? This looks to be a charming Ya adventure, which makes sense as it comes from Kenny Ortega – the director and choreographer behind High School Musical. Netflix official description for the series reads:
“High schooler Julie (Madison Reyes) lost her passion for music after her mom died last year.

‘Awake’ is Atul Mongia’s debut film. This 23-minute short, written and directed by him, is a part of this year’s Mami Year Round Programme. It is also chosen for the We Are One Global Film Festival. Atul has had a long-spanning career as one of Bollywood’s most acclaimed casting directors. Besides being an actor himself, he has trained many contemporary Bollywood actors over the years. While having worked in front of the camera for a few projects, this is Atul’s first effort of being behind the camera and pulling all the strings.
Through “Awake”, he presents us with the mundanity of the lives of today’s relationships. We are introduced to a few couples who seem to be doing well-off financially. The protagonist (Sameera), who is initially introduced just as a person behind the lens, gets her own identity beyond her profession as a photographer. She...

Late one evening in June 2014, Ryan Candice — the kind of person everyone felt was their best friend, the sort of guy so special even his own brothers readily admit he is their parents’ favorite — walked into a hospital and told them he was suffering from suicidal thoughts. Candice’s state didn’t appear to merit more care, however, and he was sent home. Hours later, he committed suicide. The shockwaves of Candice’s death rippled throughout his community, family, and friends, eventually inspiring a group of loved ones to create their own nonprofit organization to raise awareness of the United States’ growing suicide epidemic.
The result of that lofty ideal is a smart one: a wide-ranging documentary that doesn’t center any one group’s experience with suicide and mental illness. Nate Townsend’s “Wake Up: Stories from the Frontlines of Suicide Prevention” is really four films in one, but...

On the heels of a banner year with “Midsommar” and an Oscar nomination for “Little Women,” Florence Pugh is back and ready for another psychological breakdown on the big screen. It’s just been announced, via Deadline, that director Olivia Wilde’s followup to “Booksmart,” “Don’t Worry Darling,” will star Pugh, along with Shia Labeouf and Chris Pine. This is warmly welcomed casting news amid a halted Hollywood that’s seen, in recent months, deals trickle like a leaky faucet.
BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Katie Silberman, one of the scribes behind Wilde’s directorial debut “Booksmart,” is working on the screenplay for “Don’t Worry Darling” from a spec script by Shane Van Dyke and Carey Van Dyke. Set up at New Line with Catherine Hardwicke serving as executive producer alongside the Van Dykes, the film is a psychological thriller set in a utopian desert community circa the 1950s. It may seem like a lifetime ago with the way 2020 is going, but back in January, disturbances felt in the Force regarding the Disney+ Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff series proved accurate after it was temporarily shelved as a search for new scripts commenced. ITV has canceled Rob Lowe’s fish out of water British cop drama Wild Bill after just one season.
The West Wing star, who currently features in Netflix film Holiday In The Wild, played high-flying U.S. cop Bill Hixon, who was appointed Chief Constable of the East Lincolnshire Police Force in the UK.
But the series failed to arrest a huge audience, averaging just 3.7 million viewers, and it was not picked up by a big player in the U.S. despite Lowe suggesting that Netflix or Hulu could come in for the show.
Wild Bill was produced by 42, MultiStory Media and Anonymous Content. The show was created by The Hunted writer David Griffiths, before Awake creator Kyle Killen came on board with Silent Witness writers Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble. Lowe acted as an executive producer.
An ITV spokeswoman said: “We are immensely proud of Wild Bill and loved...
