Having seen so many perfect multimillion dollar films where every pixel on the screen says 'sell sell sell', finding an animated film that is not as syrupy sweet is pretty rare. But the question is how much of that million details and the visual achievement is actually noticed by the smaller kids, and especially by those who need a different type of a character on screen to connect with.
This movie is made for the unruly energetic little monsters who make all sorts of trouble noises and smells all day long and have no idea how to behave, and will never be able to sit through Tangled or Frozen. THIS type of kids will LOVE this movie! But it is quite simple visually, not too much information on screen, so i cannot give it a higher rating.
