It was alright
actdcoaching14 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was alright. The information that was given was interesting and helpful to know but too much all at once. It was good there was a lot of knowledgeable speaker in different job fields but the technical language was boring and made me want to see more 3D images. I don't feel this movie was worth $15.00. It was worth a regular price of a ticket since this is to "be continued". Maybe I expected much more. I saw the documentary called God's Creation and it was wonderful. I wish it was some 3D of those images. The 3D in this movie kind of played with your eyes a little in some spots. Making it hard to focus. All in all, this was a interesting piece. Hopefully the next one who have more of awesome factor.

Its IN the beginning, not AT the beginning.
fivish-110 August 2019
The Big Bang theory is about AT the beginning while the Bible is about IN the beginning. IN can be a very long time, probably infinite.

Christianity brainwashing.
keithbarber-9490128 May 2019
What a load of crock. All they do is try to disprove the science theories by saying that the their theories are impossible to be able to be true yet they believe that all of a sudden the earth and humans were created in 1 week with absolutely NO EVIDENCE to prove this is what actually happened apart from the writings in the bible which was written by a human just like any other fictional book. They forever quote the words that God said while creating the earth but there was absolutely nobody there to hear him supposedly say these words or anybody around to write them down . All these God believers have done is twisted the facts to match what is written in the bible ( and they did this very vaguely every time they couldn't prove what was written) . The film came across as a bit of brainwashing on behalf of their non-provable bible.

An Honest, Fellow Christian Family Review
TimothyHammer201714 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was a disappointment. The trailers and marketing made it led you to believe that this movie was going to be majority 3D, but in fact; it was more like 40 percent 3D, 60 percent talking. We wouldn't have mind that if first, we were aware that this would be a documentary but what really was frustrating was the long segments of talking and then a small segments of 3D.

They didn't integrate the 3D with the talking, instead; they made us WATCH multiple people talking while the camera was doing uncomfortable moves. Some of the shots were so bad (people looking off the screen), that it was quite unbearable.

For the budget they had, you would imagine they would have an expert in the field of 3D and directing but it did not show that. The quality of the 3D was not consistent. Most of the animals were low quality and the animation of the animals was terrible. Some 3D looked like motion graphics and made just to look like 3D so there would be more 3D content. Lots of the shots looked like they were going to do something on the screen and then never did it or it just wasn't a good idea by the time they got to post production. These are all signs of a director that does not have enough experience to anticipate what is needed.

The movie targeted audience was interesting too because with all the talking and how they had the movie structured seemed to be a more mature history channel format but the content was very down to earth and simple. My kids got very bored quite quickly and the content wasn't stimulating enough for my wife and I.

Overall, we as a Christian body shouldn't promote terrible Christian movies or these problems mentioned above will continue on and on. We need to hold the Christian media community accountable so they make content that even non Christians can endure. Just because it's a Christian movie doesn't mean we have to LIE and say it was great. We need to force Christian media to use God's resources wisely.

There has been some great Christian movies this year: Let There Be Light, Case for Christ, Same Kind of Different as Me but Genesis Paradise Lost is not one of them!

The True Word of Our Existence
dmross-321817 March 2020
A logical account of the meaning of life and why we cannot be random, unguided creations as evolution theories stupidly claim. The Bible IS the truth and therefore the Word of God, our Heavenly Father, yet so many still ignorantly believe otherwise because they cannot see the light-the love of God and his only begotten son Jesus Christ, our Saviour.

THE REAL SCIENTIFIC TRUTH
waynelewag29 March 2020
A Documentary with scientist interviews as well as excellent animation. The movie shows that the evolution theories (there is not just one) that is hundreds of years old based only on seeing that animals have traits that look alike is not acceptable science. We have the technology and science to investigate cells and DNA now. This assumption that evolution is real cannot be proven scientifically and our modern advances in science have discovered the truth of the complexity of cells, DNA and the perfect laws of physics that allow them to live, thrive and procreate. If you choose not to believe in an awesome God who has the mind, power and ability to make all this life on earth then you have to make up some story to explain all this perfection and abundance of life all around us on this planet. The new science research is on the side of those who see clearly that life has always been fragile and intelligent and has to have first a fully formed kind to create another of its kind. Science is awesome when you prove it is true by demonstrating, observing and repeating the hypothesis. You can do non of that with evolution theories. The proof is that the earth and all of the planets in our solar system are young. GENESIS: Paradise Lost, is good, honest and TRUE science. #ScientificProofOfGod

Propaganda in the age of scientific anathema
Lucid_Images29 October 2018
Nothing will subvert your intellect faster than a glossy retelling of the same tired cliche...that Evolution is wrong and somehow bronze age religion is RIGHT! Nothing could be further from the truth....though it is quaint that the religious fundies are still trying so hard to make intelligent people think in the modern age think that goat herders in the fertile crescent somehow know better than our entire collective body of scientific history.

The one most important take away from evolution is that it doesn't matter if we're all a happy accident. It doesn't make life any more or less meaningless...though it does make us incredibly deluded to think a cosmic solar deity would make us in his image. If nothing else, being an atheist and living life to fullest, while doing moral and just acts for the sake of your fellow man makes religion and the idea of God irrelevant...especially the more you realize that you don't need a prime mover to have created everything.

My advice is don't waste your time or effort on the 3D glitz of yet another purposely deceptive piece of trash like this.

Faithful telling of the biblical worldview rooted in Genesis
riedud14 November 2017
I imagine there will be two types of reviews for this film, those that scoff at the Creation worldview and rate it disingenuously and those that don't. For reference I love movies and have a background in science and design.

This movie delivers it's message in a straightforward and visually stunning way--the basis of life, logic, sin and all science is rooted in what has already been explained for thousands of year in the Bible with it's foundation in Genesis. The film highlights modern contentions and addresses points many laymen or curious bypassers may have not put much thought into regarding origins and science. It also highlights many problems with the dominant worldview held by many--evolutionism or naturalism.

Considering the five year development and socially funded aspect, the film was quite good with a solid production. I did notice that at my theater, the frame rate seemed rather choppy during some of the graphically intense scenes but this may have been due to the projector and hopefully not the film itself. As a Christian whether you agree with the films content or not, it very much delivers on explaining the Christian paradigm in a very tangible and meaningful way.

If you are believer, go see this, if you are curious about a worldview you may have never considered, go see this film.

Must see!
KentMaurer4314 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I hope everyone see's this film and goes into it with an open mind. The film focuses on the first chapter in Genesis, and when analyzed, EVERY bible ever written agrees with the verbiage of Genesis One almost to the letter. This is the foundation of EVERYTHING! The film does a great job using science, logic and common sense to give the viewer another prospective of who we are and why we are here, we are NOT random creatures and the Universe isn't just on big crap shoot. Open your minds and open your hearts, go see this film!

All True
farnorthglenn23 November 2017
The truth was obviously fully presented. My problem with the presentation was with the attitude of a few of the main presenters. They almost seemed somewhat angry. It seemed so out of character after following the many presentations of Eric over the years. It was really a turn off for me and seemed quit unnecessary especially when representing the body of Christ.

Swing and a miss.
AceRoccola1 March 2020
When Ken Ham and Ray Comfort are among your go-to "experts" to establish the science of a subject, you're not even trying to be taken seriously by anyone other than Creation Museum season pass holders.

This is not a serious documentary. It's religious propaganda, preaching solely to the already-convinced choir.

over two hours of creationism propaganda
angryalien25 February 2020
I think "propaganda" should be added as separate genre for movies. I don't care how well a movie is made, a commercial never reflects the brand quality no matter how well is done.

Don't listen to the negative reviews
john_s_johnson13 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is excellent! The visuals are so good that if I was in charge of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, this movie would be nominated for 3 Oscars. Best visual effects, best cinematography, and best art direction. They are really of that high of a caliber. This film is highly informative, and it includes a whole group of interesting speakers talking about what they know best! The extra money you have to pay for the 3D was well worth it in my opinion. All of the people who gave this film a negative review, more than likely have not watched the film at all and are clearly biased in their opinions.

Utter nonsense
michael-wooldridge14 November 2021
When you gather a collection of "intellectuals" headed by the likes of Ken Ham and Ray Comfort, all you can expect as a result is a monument to scientific ignorance.

And this film doesn't disappoint. It is utter nonsense.

Awesome Theological Documentary...
markbeardsley14 November 2017
I've watched dozens of theological based documentaries, and this is one of the best. The 3-D effects were top notch and dazzling... I wished I could have seen this in an IMAX! The information presented was done very professionally, I thought, and I would highly recommend it to any and all people professing to be Christians, and those who are just curious about Christianity. I wish it had more showings so I could take other family members and friends to see this. It really was an excellent production!

Should be called "A Fundamentalist's Guide to Young Earth Creationism"
bep20155 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This film does a pretty solid job addressing the issue of evolution as a declared scientific fact when it comes to life on earth, particularly human life.

However...all of those interviewed in the film claim Genesis 1 must be interpreted literally. Period, end of story. The only correct interpretation of Genesis 1 according to those in the film is that Creation is literally a six day event, as in six consecutive 24-hour days and it happened roughly 6,000 years ago. That's great if you're a fundamentalist, but the vast majority of Christians are not required to interpret Genesis 1 literally. Furthermore, the vast, vast majority of faithful Christians do not believe the earth is 6,000 years old. They even go so far in the film to illustrate the behemoth from the Book of Job as a dinosaur.

Also the Big Bang Theory isn't an atheistic conspiracy. It was first theorized by a Belgian Catholic Priest, Georges Lemaitre.

Treats the Book of Genesis with Awe and Respect
wayne-963-82951714 November 2017
We saw the 3D version and the projectionist had a little trouble setting the system to 3D mode apparently since the image was blurry and muddled with the glasses on for just the first minute or so. Heard a click from the booth and that cleared up so the title popped off the screen just in front of us.

I have a degree in biology and so I was very interested in the science part. Knowing this is from Eric Hovind, there would be lots of creation-evolution content. Yes, this certainly was a central theme and of course this should be since the Book of Genesis is the definitive revelation on our origins! This is a film for anyone who wants to get a clear picture of the present state of Darwin's theory with particular emphasis on its application to humans. The film moves from lush CGI landscapes to interviews with various people ranging from multi-PhD scientists to pastors and even a Messianic Jewish evangelist with a nice contrast and flow.

There is a "no holds barred" critical treatment of Darwin's theory and the billions of years old earth assumptions needed to support it. I even heard "spontaneous generation" mentioned several times as a key element of evolution theory and abiogenesis discussions. A point I have often made as well.

There are some magnificent long CGI sequences of Adam and Eve enjoying the vistas of their Garden of Eden in amazing splendor. Dinosaurs are there as well in ways that may change your understanding of them.

This film gets high marks in my opinion because of its quality as cinema and because of its bold and passionate appeal to the human heart to hear and respond to the great message of the Book itself!

Good to watch
flokianni25 February 2020
It is amazing how when there is a religious title, immediately certain groups feel attacked and throw all kinds of trash on it. We live in times when asked to be politicaly correct and tolerant by the same groups of people who like to trash and be aggresive toward others who don't share their "new age" or "modern" opinions. It is ok to express your thoughts or feelings freely but without of offensive words as you will find in some of the negative comments here. If you are a Christian, a Jew or even a Muslim, you will enjoy it, if you are none of these but want to expand your views, you might enjoy it as well but if you are biased and full of hatred toward Christianism, Judaism or Islam, you will not like it as you don't like anyone anyway. Reviews are not debates, and if one is unable to do them unbiased, simply don't and skip it. I am neutral and from antheistic family but will not trash this title and I say it is a good watch.

0/10 DON'T LISTEN TO THE POSITIVE REVIEWSS
j_michelle-2051029 October 2021
Firstly, this is straight up NOT a documentary. The definition of a documentary is: "using pictures or interviews with people involved in real events to provide a factual report on a particular subject.". None of these people were involved in the events of the bible because they are known to be mythical stories upon which to loosely base some moral behaviour, and therefore not real events. If you want an audio book of the bible story with pretty pictures added, this is for you, otherwise, not recommended watching.

The Truth will set you free
patrickmcb200214 November 2017
The truth of the bible is under attack. This movie discusses the controversy of Creation vs Evolution. Regardless of your worldview, you will benefit from the discussion. Excellent depiction of the creation of the world as told in the Book of Genesis. We eagerly look forward to Part II.

GOD-guided (Co)Evolution is Correct
miamiworldperc-6845114 November 2017
The premise of this movie is that Earth is about 6,000-years-old, the Genasis Creation Story is to be taken literally, and science - especially Darwin's Theory of Evolution - is a lie. This is all false and the atheist explanation of randomness and coincidence is also false. GOD-guided (co)evolution including this Universe being 13.8 billion-years-old, Earth 4.54 billion-years-old, humans 2.8 billion-years-old, and reincarnation is correct.

I don't recommend this movie to anyone. Believers should study a good college science textbook and non-believers should study the Genasis Story with the understanding that it's encoded, e.g. GOD=7_4 Theory (google that) and Genasis 1:1/Bereshit 1:1 in its original Hebrew is 7 words and 28 (7x4) letters - it's "God's Signature".

It's such drivel I can't even give it 1 star
jmag0047 October 2020
THAT'S HOW MUCH OF JOKE THIS IS! The problem is categorising it a documentary when it is no such thing. Why is anything of this belief categorised in the history/doco section but everything about other cultures and religions in the fantasy section or mythonlogy. At least producers be consistent and put this stuf in the same fantasy section.

Well this movie and the way that most of you rated it really does explain the country's problems as being led by this belief, which everyone else, everywhere in the world thinks it's as much of a joke as this schlockumentary and explians why the world thinks it. HahahahahahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Looking for confirmation instead of truth
TheCheese10 March 2022
This movie shows the findings of some Christian "scientists". It would make you believe that the goal of non-Christian science is to disprove what is written in the bible. It is like science all backwards. These Christian "scientists" start off with the conclusion they want to find, namely the creation according to the book of Genesis, and discard all proof that points another way. Contrary to real scientist that first make observations an take into account all data to draw conclusions. It baffles me that these people can even hold degrees in science since they have no intention to find the truth. They are just looking for confirmation of their preoccupied ideas.

Sorry dear Christian readers, but the earth is not 6000 years old and men never walked along side melon eating T-Rexes.

I'll mark that this review does not contain any spoilers since there is nothing to spoil about this movie. I had some good laughs, but it is utter garbage.
