Hello Emiko
ThomasDrufke24 January 2019
Perhaps no different than most of this season, this week's episode was a mixed bag for me. I'm enjoying the ongoing introduction to Emiko Queen (much more than I am the Nora storyline on Flash) and perhaps a new mystery that goes along with that. But I could care less about anything involving Diaz or the flash forwards at this point. Seriously though, how many times can they bring the Diaz character back into the fold without realizing the fans don't care about him one bit. And the fact that it's Diggle & Lyla's decision to put him in the new version of the Suicide Squad will likely just further any sort of previous tension Dig and Ollie already had. The flash forwards also haven't been favorable, with Rene actually becoming the new Mayor (because we needed that, right?) as Dinah/Zoe further the split between Rene altogether. The idea that Oliver has officially joined the police force is still an appealing one, but execution will be key. Aside from that, it was just another week of Arrow.

7.5/10

Oliver's sisters

Oliver Queen has a weird family. His mom fooled around and had a daughter who is missing for some reason, his dad has an affair with another and he too has a daughter. This show is turning into a soap opera.

Warning: Spoilers
Seeing Emiko beat the living daylights out of criminals and crossing thier names off a list gave me arrow season 1 goosebumps. Rene is becoming the character he is meant to be a loyal, stubborn, by any means neccessary character who loved his daughter.

Underrated

A lot of people gave this episode hate, but I thought it was an effective mid season premiere. Emiko didn't get a lot of development, but the parallels with Oliver were great and I have faith they'll do her character justice

Arrow won't be the most boring hero in DC universe this season
ShidoLin22 January 2019
Half season almost passed, super girl is ok, flash is boring, arrow is fine.... probably last season got too many complaints which means the writers came to work from this season....but i still think "can we just let Diaz die!", I for 1, i don't care it will look reckless if u(writers) just end Diaz very soon, because a normal criminal existing that long is a Fxxxxxx miracle and illogical, ending him badly right now is even much better than keeping him like keeping a cancer bug for the health of this series....do not keep thinking like "oh we cant kill Diaz we can't take someone's life even he is a criminal, we only can bring him to justice!" because the criminal like Diaz like Bin Laden in our realistic world already got shot !!!!

Emiko is awesome!!!
cruise0126 July 2019
Episode 7.10 (3 out of 5 stars).

Emiko Queen steals the spotlight in this episode. Oliver is trying to discover who this new mysterious Green Arrow is. And the discovery does shock him. Diggle and Lyla make a questionable action about Diaz. Emiko is on a hunt for revenge.

The main story line is forgettable. The sub plot of Emiko going on revenge was entertaining. It was action packed. And it delivered.

Could be Better........

'My Name is Emiko Queen' is the next installment in Arrow Season 7. Here we get to see more of the Episode Title Character; Emiko Queen. The acting in this episode wasn't as bad as people say it to be, For Example, Emily Bett Rickards's acting was as obnoxious as other episodes of this series as a whole. Sea Shimooka's acting really gave me Arrow Season 1 vibes, and Stephen Amell's Acting was really well done as usual and the rest was really did a good job. The Story was portrayed fairly well, Sometimes the story had its off times but it can be overlooked. This episode also showed us the continuation of the 'Flash-Forwards' which was fun to see and also had a joke-turn-to-reality moment which originally was from 'Unmasked',which I really enjoyed. There was a good amount of character development especially the character of Emiko, Oliver and some others. The Direction, Production, Writing and everything else was well done. The ending wasn't anything special and the Tone wasn't as dark on the Oliver's Side but It was kinda dark on Emiko's.

So Overall Its a Solid 9 and I hope it continues in the same direction and possibly reach its True Potential.

Arrow Hits another Bullseye
FLYINGGADGET201422 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is the third best episode in opinion, 1st being Elsewords 2nd Slab-side Redemption and this one. This Episode Answers answers a lot of questions and worries... Emiko's mother, they chose to defer from the comics. It is not Shado because that be weird for the show to do... If that were the case Shado would have had a thing with 2 Queens, Father and son. But both Shado and Emiko's mother died the same way, a shot to the head. Overall this is an exceptional episodes and I hope for a Green Arrow and Green Arrow Team-Ups in, Next Episode and beyond. :)

Past Lives (Rewatch thoughts)

Warning: Spoilers
"The world is not a fair place. Innocent people die while the guilty go free. The system is broken, filled with corruption, greed, and apathy. The people who are supposed to protect us are failing us. Criminals continue to walk the streets because no one is willing to stop them. The world may not be fair, but everyone deserves justice and someone looking out for them."

The tenth episode of the seventh season fittingly titled "My Name Is Emiko Queen" is easily the best mid-season premiere of the show. I am literally thinking about Emiko's badassery at least once a day. Season 7 is my all-time favourite season of Arrow, partly due to the introduction of Oliver Queen's half-sister Emiko. The only complaint I had with the season was how it handled her death. I thought it was anticlimactic how she died. Also, Emiko Queen was slightly underused in the first half of the season. She should've been introduced sooner. Emiko Queen instantly became one of my favourite characters and was surprised by the backlash against her at the time.

"People say that revenge corrupts the soul, that if you go down that path, you'll never come back. But sometimes, embracing the darkness is the only way to get justice. My name is Emiko Queen. I will get justice for my mother, and no one will stand in my way."

Final verdict: 10/10.

So Bad

This season started off pretty good, especially given the last few seasons. Hit the apex in episode 7, then dropped off a cliff. Hopefully this is rock bottom

Warning: Spoilers
So Renee and Emiko break into a guys house with Renee shooting and probably killing multiple bodyguards outside, just to find out that the person they were looking for was innocent.

Yeah, some hero he is. The writers don't see anything wrong with this?

Cheese 🧀 Arrow
mlorenzen-12 January 2021
It's like they thought the C Team of Supergirl was doing a good enough job to start taking lessons from this season. Just a few minutes in this episode is nearly ridiculous enough to think the Batwoman character from the Elseworlds cross-over was actually clever written and well acted (hint: not at all). 1) why all of a sudden does Emiko stop wearing her full face mask? 2) two guards walk up to a recently fired arrow and just stare at it with a blank stare instead of looking towards the direction of where it came from and/or take defensive measures 3) she's a little buff so maybe 110 lbs wet, but she couldn't crash through that thick of a window and metal frame that easy

I had heard from others the show should have stopped after season 5, but I was enjoying it too much, figured they could keep it going... season 6 was ok enough, but now... 👎

Dreadful - giving up now!
brennantracey24 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Oh dear, the storyline is all over the place and nonsensical. The acting was terrible in this episode, Canary and Renes future daughter were worse than Felicty which is saying something. The storyline introduced Oliver's unknown half sister who was revealed quite randomly, her identity was quite mysterious prior to this episode, then it was just randomly revealed at the start of the episode. Honestly, based on the terrible storyline I think the actors have just given up which I don't blame them. The only way to recover this is to drop the PC nonsense and take a leaf out of Daredevils and Punishers book!

I've given up on Supergirl and Arrow now! Just The Flash and Legends to go!!

Absolute Crap!
elliotgarewal27 January 2019
Just watched punisher season 2 and know this is comparison is terrible. Writing is all over the place, the action is also terrible . The season was promising when Oliver was in prison: that was good. This stuff is just bad and cringey at most times. Season 5 was great, season 6 was bad, season 7 so far is ok but this episode I hate.

Really sick of Diaz and others
scramblewithme17 September 2019
Come on! Why in the world is Diaz still a factor?? Get rid of him already! And Emiko is annoying. And where'd she come from after all the years? What, are the writers bored or running out of viable ideas? And Felicity? How obnoxious she is with her "new" self. She used to be my favorite character. Not anymore. And I'm really sick of hearing (actually,I've been sick of it since about the 2nd season) "no more secrets or lies," and 2 seconds later one of them lies or has a secret; and "I promise" or "I swear" when they have absolutely no control over the situation. And of course there's the addition of yet ANOTHER homosexual character (not sure which episode he came in)-1 is too many. And the PC crap??-"Person" in the chair rather than "guy"...seriously?? I'd never recommend any DC show to anyone. Oh, and the sound effects are stupid, pathetic, and ridiculous.
