The show is building up steam
sscialli30 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I was getting the idea that Arrow was not getting up to speed, but I have to admit this episode was quite good fun to watch as the wheels within wheels are turning ever so better! Lila, excellent form of playing the grey shade of justice. Everyone was back into intrigue mode and that's exciting!

"I am doing all of this for my family" (7x03 - Crossing Lines)
Sam_Ash_7630 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
After 2 outstanding episodes in a row, I was expecting "Arrow" to have a rather simplistic and uninteresting episode of TV. Boy, I was wrong! This weeks "Arrow" delivers three different stories. One involving Diggle and Lyla, another involving Agent Watson and Felicity and the biggest and most outstanding story line, like usual, involving Oliver Queen and Stanley (Who I really want to think is a true friend... but there is definitely something off about him...).

Lets start off with the Diggle and Lyla story line, which involves Curtis (*extreme sarcasm* yay...), who is probably my current least favorite character on this show, but he does prove himself useful when he is with Diggle and Lyla. This story line is definitely the worst of the three, however, it has some great moments (including the comic relief with Diggle's Son).

Watson and Felicity try to take down Diaz (yeah, sorry ladies, but this is the CW, we don't do that around here... until at least in episode 23), I loved this story line, especially the absolutely stunning fight scene between Dinah and Silencer which is edited in a perfect way of complete silence. This style is definitely something I'd like for bigger fight scenes.

The prison story line of the week is Oliver trying to find a man called the demon who he can talk to in order to get in contact with Diaz and to do this he must earn the respect of Brick The Prick, this ensues an epic fight scene between Oliver and a fellow prison inmate, which is another highlight of this episode.

THE PROS/CONS OF THE EPISODE:

Pros:
  • That Silence Fight Scene Was Incredible. (2.0)
  • Felicity kidnapping Silencer. (2.0+)
  • The Prison Storyline Was Great. (2.0)
  • Stanley is a welcome addition (even if he might be a friend of Diaz...) (1.0+)
  • Agent Watson is good in this episode. (1.0+)
  • Diggle and Lyla subplot is good. (1.0+)

Cons:
  • Curtis isn't too bad but he did have the line "Keeping Secrets Keeps A Marriage Spicy"... Which was just awful. (-0.5)
  • Diaz is still out there (-0.5)

FINAL VERDICT: 9.0/10

The Descent of 4587
highmarksreviews31 October 2018
I'm really enjoying Arrow's seventh season thus far. There's an added level of suspense, darkness and intelligence that hasn't been felt in quite a while, and that is a very good thing indeed. "Crossing Lines" gives me no reason for worry. The writers finally managed to find their focus, breaking down the episode into three larger stories. And while, yes, one was clearly above all others, each contributed in some meaningful way. Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) and Diggle (David Ramsey) had probably the weakest arc entertainment wise. While their plot meandered a little, it made room for some surprising character development for the two, which was a welcome shake-up. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and the FBI's attempts to thwart Diaz's (Kirk Acevedo) operations were fun to watch, especially since the Longbow Hunters were thrown in to the mix. Diaz, after this episode, might be a little more interesting than before, but he still has much to prove in terms of strength and fighting prowess. Oliver (Stephen Amell), had a very grim time in prison, as evidenced by some brutal, rather bloody brawls in the cell blocks. The added fact that he is now going to explore another side of Slabside has me very curious. All in all, "Crossing Lines" proves that season seven can work with more than one story on its hands, as long as they are relevant in some way. Even so, it's hard to deny the fact that Ollie's prison ordeal, is probably the most fun to watch.

This Season keeps getting better!

Not as strong as the premiere, but packs a punch of both violence, thrills and mysterious flashforwards that make this season the best one yet!

Bat man, inception, shutter island, person of interest all in one. Ballistic! Feels good to be back on track. This episode was hardcore, action was bang on, storyline is intriguing. Love this show

Just keeps getting better

Warning: Spoilers
This season is gathering steam. While not much impressed by episode 2 this episode was solid in all aspects. It was so good to see Oliver beating the crap out of Sampson. I also liked the way they made it a no match for Oliver as he easily took down Sampson. The prison stuff keeps getting better and better. Can't wait to see what's on Level 2 next week.

I seriously wonder how long this season of arrow can keep this up! It just continues to have amazing episode after amazing episode. Once again the prison story is still the most interesting however I am really liking the other plots to. The action is outstanding and the stakes are high!

What an episode
benbaker-8102230 October 2018
There was not one storyline I wasn't eager to know more about. The prison scenes were intense and Stephen Amells acting this episode was top notch. Can't wait to see what happens over the course of the season.

!No one stays Hero here!
niharbadheka30 October 2018
The storytelling is pretty good than previous season which was season 5 and season 6,In this episode they didn't add the Flashforward point of William, this is getting intresting how Oliver could survive the prison or not,I want to see the part of The Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke. Is he returns in this season or not? At the last scene Diaz took some kind of drug, isn't it Mirakuru or something!

Now we're talking

Warning: Spoilers
Arrow decides to do less talking and more fighting in this episode and it works perfectly. The action is great form the fight scene with Rene and Kodiak, Dinah and sliencer, to Oliver being the cap out of Sampson.

Great fights

Warning: Spoilers
This episode had some great fights especially the ones with bronze tiger and Sampson. Diaz didn't even annoy me that much and I'm hoping whatever serum he got makes him a little more interesting

The Demon
ThomasDrufke30 October 2018
Usually when an Arrow episode starts out with a flash forward then goes to the "12 hours earlier" or "24 hours earlier" tactic, the episode has a major focus on that element of the story. Not only was this tactic entirely unnecessary, but the prison storyline was more of a secondary thought in this episode. Which took a bigger focus on the hunt for Diaz and a random trip to Switzerland for the Argus half of Team Arrow. If that doesn't get you pumped then I'm not sure what does! Sigh....

Of course Diaz got away once again. And it sure looks like he's going to stick around for a little bit longer since he's now juicing up with...steroids? I wasn't paying attention enough to have a clear indication as to what drug that was, but why? Why is he still sticking around? Why are we trying to re-hash the same material as the Slade-Mirakuru arc in season 2? Oh and did Felicity really just reference the Longbow Hunters as the "bad guy big guns"????

The prison stuff was pretty solid this week and had shades of Shotcaller and Brawl in Cell Block 99, as Oliver was forced to go deeper into the prison and the lack of authority that plagues the place from top to bottom. I'm not sure who "the demon" is, but I'm just hoping it has nothing to do with Diaz and perhaps leading to a new big bad.

Brutal action but forgettable direction.
cruise016 June 2019
Arrow

Episode 7.03 (3 out of 5 stars).

The episode delivers another brutal fight sequences. As the plot moves forward with Felicity trying to get Oliver out and willing to do whatever it takes. Diggle gets Curtis to join him in ARGUS. And Oliver makes the ultimate choice in prison that leads to another brutal fight sequence.

There is a lot of action and less story progression. The story is still forgettable. The drama with the characters are dull and tedious.

Going down a level
paultapner14 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Oliver's gotta be tough if he wants to get to the bottom of things and get out of prison. So he's gotta do tough things and really go to the edge in order to do it. I think we've been here before. And we see what he will do in the end because the episode starts with something dramatic and then it's twelve hours earlier. The most boring tv cliche rears it's head again.

It's not a boring journey for him this episode. But we don't get that far along, and it takes a whole episode to do it. It does also look as if this might be the last we see of prison friend, who was the most interesting and strongest character around him.

Felicity's obsessive behaviour continues, and someone gets the short end as a result. You do hope they're not going to keep her like this for too long. But there is an interesting development in her final scene of the part.

Diaz gets some development of sorts as well. Which you may or may not care about.

John Lyla and Curtis start a storyline that has potential, and might give Lyla a bit more to do. Which is nice.

No Laurel or flashforwards this week.

After two very good episodes, this is an argument against twenty three episode seasons. As it doesn't really get us more than a tiny bit far along. Watchable stuff, particularly another Dinah silencer fight, but a bit frustrating in the end.

Lost it's way - bring back season 1
brennantracey2 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Season 6 was incredibly confused with the mix of new vigilantes and the never ending change of bad guy, I had hoped that season 7 would improve but it's actually worse.

The prison scenes aren't too bad but it's abundantly obvious that 'the Demon' is Anatoly, well, why wouldn't it be? We need a surprise factor element to it and having Oliver meet his long lost island pal/arch enemy fits the bill.

The other scenes made no sense what so ever, firstly, the FBI so willingly trusting Felicity despite them being so against viligantism, secondly the scene within Digs and his wife in Switzerland, then the scene with Diaz injecting himself with some sort of drug. It's all over the place.

I would say that the worst thing about Arrow for the last few seasons is Felicity. Her character is annoying, I don't know if it's the actress or the lines but she does this weird semi grunt thing with her voice. She's an absolute irritant. One thing I think, hope and prey is that Felicity's character is killed off, which results in the return of angry arrow. Let's follow in Daredevil and Punishers footsteps.

Please make it stop!
samofnine7 December 2018
First Flash, now Arrow - another prison storyline... It's getting boring if you've watched all seasons of Prison Break. Yeah, I get it, Diaz is a hard nut to crack. But gee, I'm getting tired and despaired like the Team! It's getting annoying. And what's wrong with the DCU? They have fake names for US cities but there exists a Zürich?! I don't get it. The DC TV universe starts to crack for me. And if they really let Felicity die as mentioned in the first episode of this season that's it for me...
