Upon learning of their mother's death, Samuel and Émilie, two mentally challenged siblings, run away from their group home in the middle of winter. As they go deeper and deeper in the forest, their relationship is put to the test.
Following the death of their mother, Samuel and Emilie, two siblings with developmental disabilities, leave the safe harbor of their lifelong home. They set out for Matchi Manitou, the magical territory in northwestern Quebec where Emilie believes her mother's soul was delivered. Samuel and Emilie's is a journey at once geographical and spiritual-one that will test the limits of their resources and their relationship.—Miami Film Festival
