Huge letdown in all regards

I had some hopes for this movie, as it was said to be some postapocalyptic setting. Not really sure how that fits in and it is nothing like what you are set in view, when you go to watch this. But I think that quickly becomes apparent.

It was hard to keep any sort of focus, because there is no storyline and the production value couldn't be more barebone if you tried. You are throw into the middle of some dark movie, that almost seem to be pretending to be a horror movie.

There is no background story in any way to get you or keep you hooked to wanting to watch more. The dialogue and acting is just really hard to watch and there is no synergy between the actors. There is no natural flow or expressions, it just seem very choppy.

The ending actually turned out as I figured it would along the way. I can't say anything more without spoilers. But I feel it is not what you are promised when you go to watch this movie. I realise what they might have been trying to do and a know of a famous movie that has done some of the same, but again I can't mention without potential spoilers. In my opinion I feel the movie is labelled wrong and therefore I will subtract one star from my rating, 3 it is.

It's Really Bad

There is no way actual people are genuinely rating this 10 stars. I watch bad movies on daily basis and this was pretty bad, even for me.

I watched it to the end because I wanted to see where the story went. No where worth my time is the answer. There a appeared to be a competition between the acting and dialogue as to which could be worse, with the camera crew and sound guy participating occasionally. It was extremely disjointed with the last twenty minutes seemingly a completely different film.

Dreary drama disguised as apocalyptic horror

This has got to be one of the most tedious films of the last year. I thought after midnight was light on horror but this takes the biscuit.This is just a lifetime TV style drama disguised as horror to con people into watching it. If you want to make a drama just make one don't pretend it's a horror film

I am always suspicious when I check reviews and find that all the 'good' reviews are from folks who obviously were involved with the film. I believe all they are doing it to bump the rating up. I tried to watch this movie but gave up at about 15 minutes into it

What a mess of a movie. 1 hour and 22 mins of I not sure how to describe it TBH . This is not the film you think it's going to be. Some one mentioned "Twist at the end " ?? Wow...not sure what you watched.

dreary drama not a horror movie

Anyone who states this has a surprise ending is full of crap stupid or connected to this drivel of a movie. the plot, what for lack of a better word is given away after the first 10 looooooong minutes.

Not what you expect

OK...so I've only written one review so far. I've watched several movies lately and I watch a lot anyway. I've been known to ditch a lot early on , doubting they'll be any good.This one, almost fell at the fence, however, I persevered. It appears disjointed and poor. Don't be fooled. It's difficult to explain my review without a spoiler. But..take my tip..watch it. It's a very emotional subject. I had developed my suspicions of what was happening after about half an hour when things seemed a little off.

Slow start, POWERFUL ending!

The film had moments that were slow for sure. For those parts I'm knocking off a star but...once the last 3rd of the film presents what is going on I was shaken. THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK! Some people may hate that and others will love it, it's just a matter of connecting with the message. Round of applause for the writer and director for ending on such a strong note!

Not a thriller

This movie portrays the confusion and decline experienced by many with dementia. Also the frustration of those left behind struggling to understand the delusions many endure as they lose their cognizance of the current world.

i cried at the end

Thinking this was a horror movie (as it is advertised), i was surprised that it turned out to be a very sad condition of dementia. i felt the pain as i watched this movie and i cried towards the end.

Scarry

This movie is more of a drama than a thriller. The real life boogeyman is the effects that dementia plays on the person's mind.The bond of the actors is shown through flashbacks, but it is not until close to the end of the movie that the real picture is revealed.

This Goes Deeper Than You Think

This movie left me thinking a lot about my own life after it ended. I was surprised that it went as deep as it did as the poster really sells it like a by the numbers horror movie. I am recommending this to my friend who's mom went through something similar as the characters in this movie.

Emotionally Impactful

Great movie with an emotionally driven message! Lulu Dahl is great in her scenes towards the end and Kaiser is so realistic in his portrayal of a man who lost everything and is untrusting toward these "new" characters. I didn't expect to like this as much as I did! Stick it out til the end, you won't be disappointed.

Slow start, shocking ending

The movie started slowly but as most great movies with well thought out story lines i was quickly hooked. This movie bent the genre of horror into something very intriguing and dramatic.

If you like smart thrillers this is a movie for you.

I am not one to stay interested in movies classified as "thriller" however, this one kept me very intrigued with an ending I did not expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the film and recommend it to anyone who likes a good plot twist.

I admit up front, this was so awful I could not finish watching it. To begin with I never watch movies filmed in the woods with hand held cameras or cell phones with people who have never acted before.

They don't have negative ratings and I can't conscionably give this a "one."

Nor will I watch 5 to 7 college kids in the woods doing paranormal research etc. But this, THIS, of all the miserable thing's I have forced myself to watch, might have moved the bar to a new low.

First, the editing, if this slop can be called editing, is so fantastically incoherent, it is truly impossible to fix what is happening with who and when. The forward cuts, flashbacks, completely irrelevant spliced in footage from other projects, makes it impossible to get a fix on anything.

It starts with one old man explaining how he lives in a tent, then jumps to a different old man living in a tent, then jumps back and forth so you have no idea which character is the focus, and then while you are trying to assemble these fragments in some order the second old man is running around in a city, then he's in the woods again, then the city, then in the woods where he gets his foot caught, in a bear trap, then he's running around the city again, then he meets a stranger, a girl in the woods, who with her bare hands pries loose loose bear trap, then the old man, who isn't even bleeding, tells her to go to hell in so many words, and with a mangled but not bleeding leg, is running around again as though nothing happened, then we cut to a child's face, then he's looking in store windows in a city.

And this is all within 10 minutes.

So I skipped ahead a few times and saw the same insane incoherence obtained the entire length of this s..t and shut it off. Never to return.

They crank out these things a dime a dozen. Like the industrial posters on some websites releasing thousands of click bait garbage videos, tricking people into looking at something that has nothing to do with the advertising. Same with these thousands of "indie" things, mass produced zero budget nonsense. Since they cost what?, they feed a bum a half pint or a rotted apple and then they have a cast, then they film on a cell phone. Voila! A movie! A thousand movies cost a thousand dollars. And if enough suckers watch and they advertise a little they might net a few hundred dollars, which explains the WHY of how things like this come into existence.

It's 100% about money. Fine. Given. But the question is, how do they find people with so little talent? There is no direction or editing or "acting". And if you handed me a cheap camera, and a few scribbled lines of a plot, with no experience whatsoever, if you gave me an hour to think about it, I'd shoot a better movie.

This is completely incoherent garbage in every sense. I'd say it's as bad as it gets. It is AMONG the worst things ever committed to film, not necessarily THE worst as I have seen so much horrifically insultingly stupid things. Watching it is the cerebral equivalent of sticking your head in a bear trap and if you are that sort of masochist...this 'll work for you.
