Sledge' spaceship passes through a wormhole to appear in Earth's dimension where, looking for Energems, they find the damaged Warrior Dome with an attached asteroid containing the rare mineral Super Ninja Steel. Looking to sell the damaged but not destroyed Warrior Dome for scrap, Sledge and his minions discover Madam Odius and her minions, who threaten to scrap Sledge if he messes with them.
Opening credits roll.
Sledge offers a deal. He'll repair her ship in exchange for the asteroid embedded in it. His wife, Poisandra, loves rocks and the asteroid is a pretty one. He orders Wrench to get the prisoners to work repairing the Warrior Dome. Enslaved Badonna offers Odius loyalty in exchange for keeping her when Sledge leaves. Why should Odius keep her? Because she knows the asteroid contains Super Ninja Steel that Sledge and Poisandra want. Odius frees Badonna from her shackles and leaves, Badonna following.
With the Warrior Dome repaired. Sledge's ship leaves with the asteroid in tow. Sledge and Poisandra laugh at the prospect of being the riches couple in the galaxy.
The Warrior Dome, fully repaired, powers up. Badonna reports that she extracted all the Super Ninja Steel from the asteroid before it left. Gloating over now having more power than the Power Rangers, Madam Odius orders the Kudabots to take her back to Earth. Odius calls for Cosmo to proclaim it's time to put Galaxy Warriors back on the air. Cosmo is ecstatic, and Odius utters her next plan - to find the Nexus Prism and give those Earth teenagers (the Rangers) "a nasty surprise."
At Summer Cove High School, summer is over. The ex-Rangers return to school, along with Master Dane who graduated twenty years earlier. He puts his trophy back in the display case. As the ex-Ranger settle in for some chow in the school cafeteria, Victor and Monty's Miracle Monster Repellent commercial airs across the school TV monitor, singing their jingle and claiming to have kept Summer Cove safe since the Rangers disappeared. Hayley declares it a scam, but Sarah points out that people are buying it.
Monty and Victor enter with an enlarged one million dollar check. They boast of becoming rich and no longer needing to return to school, and present the check to Principal Hastings for the building a new school wing called "Victor and Monty's Academy for Excellent-areianism." They unveil a golden statue of Victor (with a plaque that lacks "and Monty" on it). Striking a pose to match the life-size statue, Victor says "So you never forget me." Preston challenges them to explain how they escaped from the monsters. Having a flashback of the Warrior Dome where Victor and Monty escaped their captors through Monty's farts, Victor refuses to explain as it would reveal their secret ingredient. Monty concurs by stressing that it doesn't have anything to do with farts.
Redbot urgently summons the former Rangers to their secret base. A spaceship has orbited Earth and teleported someone to their coordinates. As the Rangers strike defensive postures, their unannounced guest turns out to be Mick, who's come to warn them that the galactic hit TV show Galaxy Warriors is back. Mick plays a disc recording announcing Smellephant as the first monster sent to Earth to find the Ninja Nexus Prism. Levi suggests they hide the broken Ninja Prism, but Brody suggests they instead use it as bait in a trap. Redbot rounds the corner to give the former Rangers their Ninja Comms.
With Victor's statue now properly mounted outside, Calvin (in disguise) spots Buzz-Cams. Odius, Smellephant and Badonna soon appear. Defiant citizens rush forward to spray them with Victor and Monty's Miracle Monster Repellent. Smellephant sucks in all the fart gasses, the citizens declare the stuff doesn't work, and Badonna scares them away with a power blast.
Preston conjures a cage to imprison the three villains, but they spot the cage and avoid capture, flinging the suspended bars atop the ex-Rangers to capture them instead.
Odius opens the statue base and floats out the Nexus Prism, only to find it dead. That means the Rangers don't have their powers. She'll simply revive the Prism and turn it evil. She laughs, revives the Prism, and shows the ex-Rangers the Ninja Super Steel in her possession. The six ex-Rangers watch helplessly as Odius begins to make evil Ninja Stars.
Preston uses his magic to bend the bars. The Rangers escape and attack, knocking the remaining Super Ninja Steel to the ground. While the other attack, Hayley retrieves the remaining Super Ninja Steel pieces and Preston sends them flying away to Mick at the secret base.
Brody interrupts Madam Odius before she can complete her spell, leaving the Ninja Nexus Prism to do what it'll do on its own. It returns Ninja Power Stars and Element Stars back to the Rangers, along with the Lion Fire Armor Star and the Lion Zord Star - returning everything they need to defeat Odius.
Before teleporting away with Badonna, Madam Odius orders Smellephant to defeat the Rangers and take back the Ninja Stars. Now alone, Smellephant challenges the six Rangers, the teens transform into Rangers, and a fight ensues. Brody commands a team effort then transforms into his Lion Armor. They blast Smellephant. Levi calls up Ninja Star Morph. Brody calls up Lion Fire Flame Strike. Together, they deliver Smellephant fatal one-two blows that end his existence in a fiery explosion. The other four Rangers rush forward to congratulate the brothers.
Back on Galaxy warriors, Cosmo hits the gigantify button to revive and enlarge Smellephant.
Brody summons the Lion Fire Megazord. Smellephant fires freezing eye-beams at the Megazord, which Brody sends back to the attacker. With Smellephant immobilized, Brody delivers a Lion Fire Slash Final Attack, by which Smellephant can finally smell his ultimate defeat.
Watching Smellephant's demise aboard the warrior Dome, Madam Odius admits that ruling the universe will take some time.
Back in the secret base at school, Mick and the Rangers mount the restored Ninja Nexus Prism, and Mick announces he's returned for the long haul. Redbot says it's great to have the whole team back together again. Hayley says he can say that again, so Redbot says it's great to have the whole team back together again. Everyone else laughs, but Redbot doesn't get why.
Back in the school cafeteria, Victor and Monty run inside for safety against a horde of angrily dissatisfied customers. The horde leaves, but Principal Hasting confronts the boys over their bounced check. After ten million dollars in refunds, they can't make good on their check and tearfully beg her to take them back as students. She presents them their schedules (already printed) and leaves. The pair are relieved, but Monty's last can of repellent ruptures, covering them in fart gases, repelling everyone.
