- The Power Rangers celebrate Halloween by playing a spooky new board game but find the stakes bigger than they imagined.
- Cosmo Royale successfully traps five of the six Rangers for a Galaxy Warrior Halloween Special. Playing into a board game called Grave Robber, the Rangers find themselves forced to battle slain Galaxy Warrior contestants, fallen Kudabots and decimated Skullgators, all within a time frame determined by a magical hourglass. Trapped and with time running out, it's up to the sixth Ranger to find out what became of the others.—statmanjeff
- It's Halloween at Summer Cove High School. Levi plays guitar while singing with Brody, Preston and Sarah. Unseen by them, an elderly woman delivers a box of "priceless valuables" to Principal Hastings for the school. Checking out the box, Principal Hastings looks up to find that the old woman ... has disappeared? Passing by with Hayley, Calvin notices Hastings holding up a board game from the box called Grave Robber. He thinks it looks cool (she doesn't), so Hastings passes it along to him and leaves.
Hayley distributes their Halloween costumes. Brody suggests they play the Grave Robber board game before going trick-or-treating. Levi bows out, never having been a fan of board games. The others leave to play the game while Levi remains in the cafeteria to strum his guitar.
In the school hallways, the Ranger teens wear their costumes: Calvin as Frankenstein's Monster, Hayley as a White Witch, Sarah as a pink Winged Unicorn, Brody as a red Canadian Mounted Policeman, and Preston as a blue Wizard. They settle into the shop classroom to play the game.
Preston reads the starting instructions then gives a playfully evil laugh. Brody turns over the hourglass to begin, and ghostly energy immediately changes the room environment to something dark and genuinely creepy. Cosmo Royal appears in the crystal ball, and the Ranger teens realize they've been trapped.
As Cosmo reveals they're about to play a board game that he created, Calvin finds that they're all literally stuck to their seats. Trapped indeed. Brody attempts to call Levi for help, but its useless: communication with the outside world is strictly prohibited during the game.
To survive, they must pass their singular playing piece through the game's graveyard, where they'll encounter monsters they've previously defeated. If they can't make it through before the magical hourglass sand runs out, they'll be destroyed. Calvin turns the hourglass over to stop the sand from running out, but the magical glittering purple granules continue to pour, now falling upward. "Man, I have to get me one of those," bemoans Preston gloomily.
Brody rolls the dice and moves their collective playing piece, which lands on Trapsaw's tombstone. They must now touch the crystal ball for the battle to begin, and must defeat the monster to move on. At a touch they are instantly transported (and powered up as Rangers) to a warehouse district where Trapsaw and Kudabots await. They fight, with monsters gaining the upper hand. The Rangers regroup.
Since they're ninjas, White Ranger suggests a surprise. That gives Red Ranger the idea of a surprise attack, landing in the midst of their foes with a Ninja Strike Steel Slash, decimating their attackers.
Having succeeded, they instantly return to their seats around the board game. Sarah rolls and lands on Hacktrack's tombstone. Before they touch the crystal ball (with Brody eager to get on with the fight), Sarah has Calvin nab a nearby toolkit while she grabs a cordless radio. Crystal touched, and they're gone.
They appear at a building plaza, but with Hacktrack not yet around, they have time to start turning the radio into a signal jammer. Hacktrack appears and taunts them to come chase him. Red Ranger instructs the others to build the jammer while he pursues Hacktrack with his new Ninja Kite technique.
Picking up a leaf, Red Ranger builds a bamboo kite from a Ninja Forest Attack. Flying after Hacktrack, he attacks with Ninja Arrow Blasts.
Finished with the jammer, Blue Ranger proposes copying Red Ranger, using another Ninja Forest Attack to turn another leaf into another bamboo kite. Pink Ranger does and joins Red Ranger in the sky, where she taps out a signal that turns Hacktrack into an explosion.
Having succeeded again, they all return to their seats around the board game (sans radio and toolkit). Preston rolls and lands on Slogre's tombstone. Cosmo cackles with delight as Slogre will likely use his Slowmist to use up the Rangers' time. They touch the crystal ball and transport to another building plaza where Slogre and Kudabots await - but where are the Rangers? Waiting on a surprise. Catching their assailants off-guard, the Rangers gain the upper hand with White Ranger's Ninja Blaster Whiplash and Pink Ranger's Hyper Blast. Blue Ranger counters Slogre's Slowmist with a Ninja Fire Attack from his Ninja Element Star. Against Blue Ranger's initial successful, Slogre counters with Double Power, finally afflicting four of the Rangers with slowness.
With Red Ranger about to attack Slogre, the Rangers return to their seats around the board game, losing the round. No fair, cries Brody. We were about to win, but Cosmo says they lost, and since he makes up the rules, his opinion stands. In losing, the Ranger teens earn a Misfortune card that will make their next fight much harder - a solo fight.
Calvin rolls the rice and lands on Spinferno's tombstone. Brody readies to touch the crystal, but since Calvin rolled the dice, Cosmo says it's Calvin who must touch it to be this round's grave robber. Calvin touches the crystal and the other Ranger teens watch him get absorbed into it.
Appearing in a junkyard, Yellow Ranger gets ambushed by Spinferno, but the monster's blindside gets interrupted by an arriving truck. Spinferno applies a ring to put the driver asleep and the truck out of control. He next binds Yellow Ranger's wrists with a ring and hooks it to a chain hanging off the side of the truck, dangling the Yellow Ranger dangerously as it speeds for a cliff. To win, Yellow Ranger must save the truck driver.
Yellow Ranger breaks his bonds (somehow), enters the truck, pulls out the unconscious driver, and calls up a Ninja Forest Attack to grow a green net. He chucks the driver into the net as the truck goes over the cliff. Yellow Ranger saves the trucker but misses the net himself, falling to his doom. Calvin suddenly finds himself sitting back at the table with his friends, alive, but having lost the round to earn another Penalty card, this one promising gigantification in the next round, plus a hidden surprise.
Without spinning the dice, the Rangers touch the crystal and enter another bricked plaza, with a Skullgator looming overhead. Red Ranger summons the Ninja Steel Megazord and begins the giant fight. Cosmo enacts the Penalty card clause and turns one of their Zords evil, setting an evil RoboRider Zord against the Ninja Steel Megazord.
Red Ranger takes RoboRed Zord from the Megazord configuration to fend off the RoboRider Zord; Blue Ranger calls forth the Astro Zord to take RoboRed's place in the Megazord, creating the Astro Ninja Zoom Megazord. They defeat the Skullgator with a Cosmic Blast Final Attack. They still have an evil RoboRider Zord to deal with, which blasts apart their Megazord into its component Zords.
Cosmo spices things up with another Skullgator, which Yellow and White Rangers handle with their Zords.
Back at school, Mick (dressed as a pumpkin) startles Levi but wonders where the other Ranger teens are. They sang songs together but went off to play with a board game that didn't interest him, Levi explains. Mick puts it in a different way: The others joined Levi in something HE was interested in but then Levi didn't join them in something THEY were interested in. It sounds selfish when put that way, and since Levi can't see any other way of putting it, he goes to find out what became of them.
Levi forces his way into the sealed, darkened shop class with Grave Robber laid out on a table, nobody around, and the hourglass sand pouring. Cosmo appears in the crystal ball, announcing the Rangers immanent destruction. Levi grabs the crystal ball and finds himself powered up and in the game.
Updated on the situation, Levi locks in his Bullrider Zord Star. Cosmo teleports in say Gold Ranger's presence constitutes cheating. Gold Ranger rejects the accusation, saying he's not even playing Cosmo's game. Cosmo realizes he's correct: if he's not playing the game, he's not obligated to follow the rules.
Gold Ranger calls for the Bullrider Megazord (breaking the evil enchantment) and makes quick work of the second Skullgator with an activated Ninja Masterblade's Bullrider Megazord Rodeo Rapid Blast Final Attack. "Show's over, ninjas win."
Cosmo declares that the Rangers cheated in accepting Gold Ranger's outside help. Gold Ranger points out that he brought the hourglass with him into the game. It'd be a real shame if something happened to it. Cosmo asks them to be careful with it. "Oops," says Gold Ranger, tossing it into the air, "It slipped." The five other Rangers blast it en masse, ending the game. The Rangers light streak back to the darkened classroom with the board game before them, but they are free.
Levi apologizes for not playing the game with them. It doesn't matter what uninteresting thing they do, as long as they do it together.
It's dark out now, time to go trick-or-treating, with Levi joining them wearing Brody's Canadian Mounted Police hat.
