- In Iceland, Ubbe learns the truth about Kjetill and has a difficult decision to make. Back in Norway, the battle against the Rus has had grave consequences. But reinforcements have arrived, and Bjorn has an idea that may yet save the day.
- Having defeated Harald's and Bjorn's forces, the Rus occupy Tamdrup and prepare to attack Kattegat. Harald and former king Olaf are captured by the Rus. Oleg makes frightened prince Igor, whom Ivar coaches fatherly and secretly inspires to plot a rebellion, personally burn fearless Olaf alive. Harald, refusing to become a pawn for Oleg, escapes back home. In Kattegat King Hakon and Jarl Hrolf arrive 'belated' with their armies, finding Bjorn still be alive, but slowly dying from his wounds. In Iceland, Ubbe recruits volunteer for the expedition back home, but Othere reveals how Kjetill and Frodi murdered Eyvind's family. Bjorn realizes that Ingrid is pregnant and assumes the child his. Hakon brings the Rus news of Bjorn's passing and surrenders to Oleg, only to be killed by captain Ganbaatar. As the Rus hold mass, Bjorn suddenly appears, confusing and scaring them. Ganbaatar shoots Bjorn with arrows, but Bjorn manages to order an attack before passing, thus seeming immortal. The surrounding Norwegian coalition attacks the panicking Rus. Ganbaatar's arrow kills Amma but he's decapitated by Gunnhild. The Rus flee Norway while Bjorn is buried in a lavishly decorated mound.—KGF Vissers
- After defeating Bjorn's and Harald's warriors, Oleg plan to attack Kettegat. King Olaf and Harald have been captured by Oleg's army, and Harald is chained to prison while King Olaf is sacrificed by fire. King Hakon betrays Bjorn and discloses to King Oleg that Bjorn is dead. In Iceland, Ubbe invites the settlers to look for the new land and learns that Kjetill and Frodi have killed the Eyvind's family. Ingrid tells that she is pregnant but Grunhild questions if the baby belongs to Bjorn or to Harald that had raped her. When Oleg and his army are ready to attack Kattegat, Bjorn appears riding a horse and orders the attack of the Rus, panicking officers and soldiers that flee back to Kiev.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Bjorn and his surviving force retreat to Kattegat, with Gunnhild taking away a grievously injured Bjorn. The people of Kattegat know that the Rus will attack soon. Ingrid tells Gunnhild that King Harald had sexually assaulted her. Gunnhild promises to cut Harald's throat, if she gets the chance.
After the defeat of Harald's and Bjorn's forces, the Rus have occupied Tamdrup and prepare to attack Kattegat. Ivar is not completely sure that Bjorn is dead. Oleg wants to attack as soon as his fleet is repaired as he has lost more men in the battle than he had anticipated.
Harald is revealed to still be alive and captured by the Rus as well as King Olaf. At Oleg's behest, Igor burns King Olaf alive. Oleg says that Olaf was a King without a Kingdom and hence of no use to anyone. Igor was scared to light the pyre, but a gentle nudge from Ivar makes him do it. This is noticed by Oleg.
Meanwhile Harald, intent on not being a pawn for Oleg, escapes.
In Kattegat King Hakon and Jarl Hrolf have arrived with their armies. Bjorn is revealed to still be alive, but slowly dying from his wound. Hakon asks Bjorn to stay alive as his name alone is worth 1000 warriors.
In Iceland, Ubbe prepares for their expedition to the West upon the onset of Spring. Ubbe plans to sail with 2 ships and about 40 people. Kjetill says that even though he wants to be King of Iceland, he will come with Ubbe on this journey. Kjetill proposes to bring Frodi and Ingvild on the journey with him.
Ubbe tells Othere that in England he saw all the Christian ceremonies. He argues that Christ also comes from the Holy Father, who is similar to the AllFather in Norse mythology. Ubbe says that the Holy Father and the AllFather are one and the same. Othere reveals how Kjetill and Frodi murdered Eyvind's family. He says that Kjetill's daughter killed herself as she could not live with what her father had done.
Bjorn realizes that Ingrid is pregnant and believes the child to be his.
Oleg moves his army to a camp outside Kattegat. Ivar tells Igor that after Oleg wins the battle, he will have all the power as that is the way of the world. Ivar says that they will need to align with Dir to defeat Oleg. Ivar says that they will need to wait for the right moment.
A scout spots the Rus army and informs Erik. Erik says that even with Hakon's forces, the Vikings are hopelessly outnumbered. Hakon travels to the Rus camp providing news of Bjorn's passing and surrenders to him, only to be killed by Oleg's captain Ganbaatar. Oleg now believes that Kattegat is at his mercy.
As the Rus hold mass, Bjorn suddenly appears, confusing and scaring them. Ganbaatar shoots Bjorn with arrows, but Bjorn manages to order an attack before passing, giving the impression of being immortal.
The Norwegian coalition (with many more Jarls answering the call of Bjorn Ironside. They came to save the country in response to a call made by the true King of Norway) attacks the panicking Rus from multiple directions. Ganbaatar kills Amma with his bow but is decapitated by Gunnhild.
Defeated, the Rus flee Norway while Bjorn is buried in a mound.
