Good potential
sharlynn-153003 September 2020
While the actors are all very good looking, the acting itself falled horribly flat. Very cringeworthy, actually. Sage was the only believable character. The others were just reading lines. Loved the storyline, but I agree with a previous review about the medical aspects. Absolutely no way would an OBGYN stand aside while a patient was dying and making nurses do the work. I was in the patient position and my doctor was the one who saved my life. And absolutely NO way would a doctor be permitted to perform his wife's own cesarean...not realistic at all...glad I watched it because the plotline tugged at my heart strings, but once was enough.

Remake of Jack & Sarah
wolviesgirl22 May 2022
This is the same story as another 1995 film called Jack & Sarah. Jack & Sarah starred Richard E. Grant and was a wonderful film. Search it out. This update is good but the medical scenes were embellished for dramatic effects.

Good Storyline
feomgrofhome20 June 2020
I liked the storyline. However, the acting was sub par - except for Sage (Mandahla Rose), Kathryn (Adrienne Barbeau), and Dr. Luke* (Randy Wayne).

*He did much better when he was paired up with Rose and/or Barbeau.

There were a couple unrealistic scenes. One, where the friend (a fellow doctor) stood back and, from a distance) "directed" the nurses on life-saving measures. The doctor normally steps-in to try and save a person's life.

The second situation was when Dr. Luke performed a cesarean on his own wife. That is a definite NO-NO!

Potential but it falls flat
emilyabundy28 July 2020
The preview makes it look great but it falls so flat. There are so many little details that the writers didn't think through that just make it feel like a third rate movie. The medical details are so off. Overall just a meh movie.

Sweetly predictable, maybe. But I needed this film.
mollyweasley212 April 2024
I watched this when I needed a good weep. Death, disbelief, and ressurection of broken spirits who initially clash. The main characters are actually quite believable, which Surprised me. Real.

Best of all was the appearance of Adrienne Barbeau as Luke's mother. Her character was a wize grandma to the newborn, whose weathered features were perfect. I remember her from earlier days when she was a glamorous actress. On shows you can look up yourself. Her willingness to present herself thus reminds me of Sophia Loren: Brave and wonderful, with a touch of class.

I do hope more stories like this can be told. Christian romance, or princes from obscure European duchies are a little too common. This one felt real.

Delightful Movie
lindamurray-6251113 September 2020
This movie is so refreshing. It's a story of real life issues: love, loss, relationships, and 2nd chances. The casting, I thought, was well done. Randy Wayne as Dr. Luke Matthews (you have to love the guy), Mandahla Rose as Sage Smith (the Dr's nanny & new love interest), & Adrienne Barbeau as Katharyn (Luke's mother). I enjoyed the development of each character and the transitions that occurred in their lives and relationships...Watch it, I think you will like it.

Who is Blake?
mbennett-3079517 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
We loved the movie but who was Blake. They named the baby Blake and at the end of the movie there was a caption and a picture "remembering Blake". Just confused. Did I miss something?

Heartwarming Story about Love and Second Chances
mollessmart2 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The one thing that stood out to me in this movie is you can plan all you want but ultimately it is God who draws the cards. In this movie the couple are the "perfect" epitome of blue eye, blond hair all white affluent and upcoming folks - almost superficial judging by the conversations, literally textbook "perfect". Yet one incident which is a freak incident gets all their cards tumbling down. There on the other side there is this girl, who is a misfit in the place where she finds herself, has no family, no means of support, has made so many bad choices, and still has a sweet spirit and soul. Guess, she did nothing but gets to enjoy everything the first girl planned for and laid out. So be careful how you play your cards, always keep God dead center of anything and everything you do.

Will Watch Again
itskyms3 May 2020
I purchased the movie on Amazon so I have it digitally and will buy the DVD. I can watch this multiple times.

You should watch this if you like realistic life trials and tribulations. It is set in such a cute town - I will definitely be visiting Wickenburg AZ! The setting was beautiful.

The score was great. The person who did the score is talented.

Tony Denman was awesome playing Luke's friend.

I'm glad Adrienne Barbeau's character came around in the end.

Also, there are HORSES!

I really enjoyed this movie!! I watched it the day it was released because #covid. I had never seen the lead actress before but thought she was adorable and super talented. I think everyone's mom/ grandma/ church group/ family group would really enjoy this. Lots of tears, redemption, and cute babies!
