Above average, entertaining TV movie.

Entertaining. But don't watch this movie alone. You need someone there to exchange sarcastic remarks with. The blonde was the protagonist and the brunette was the antagonist. Both women added respectable visual pleasure. It was nice that the movie started in with the plot action right away. No long drawn out beginning. It was also nice to see how realistic it was when the girl made a scene on stage. The kids on the floor just stared like deer in headlights. Notice when the one fell off and landed on the floor, her pose was exactly like those who take a fall in Family Guy. Twenty years later, as adults, the plot thickened right away as well. I won't comment on the red dress at the reunion, but wow. Another realistic aspect was the white board in the brunettes kitchen with her to-do list. It reminded me of Austin Powers list. I was waiting for her to write down "threesome with Japaenesse twins". The climactic ending was rather lackluster. Family Guy deja vu all over again. The final scene was predictably stupid. Two things to notice: the tasers are really strong. And is the principal the only adult who ever goes to the proms? Despite the flaws and plot holes, there were less than in the average lifetime movie. An important factor to me is that I don't want to be bored. There was no time that happened. Overall it was entertaining.

Let's judge this for what it is

For a silly Lifetime thriller, this was an okay time waster. Easy to watch with a drink and a couple snacks. Perfect silly rainy Sunday or Covid-19 quarantine material.

Just gotta cut some people out of your life

The premise is interesting. Should you let a wack job who didn't get crowned prom queen from high school back into your life? Well many years later the high school prom queen gives the wacko another chance. It's quite interesting to see how things progress.

The actresses are good and attractive so this makes things watchable. The daughter behaves dumbly but wouldn't be much of a story otherwise.

OK for one watch.

The Queen of Cell Block Nine
lavatch28 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Although it was well cast and well acted, "Homecoming Revenge" (a.k.a., "Dying for the Crown") was a by-the-numbers revenge drama.

The opening scene is an ugly encounter at the Homecoming celebration at Fern Creek High School. Andrea Turner makes a scene by disrupting the awarding of Homecoming King and Queen to Isabelle Wagner and Rod Taylor. In a tussle on the stage, Andrea falls off the platform, seriously injuring herself. She needs years of therapy and rehab and cannot expect ever to deliver a baby.

Now, two decades later, Andrea is baaaaaaaaaak!!!

After murdering her husband Christopher, Andrea proceeds to worm her way into the life of her high school rival, Isabelle. She murders the nice assistant Jasmine at Isabelle's Country Squire Florist shop. Later, she kills Molly, the lover of her deceased husband.

Of course, there is the inevitable reprise of the Homecoming awards ceremony with Isabelle's daughter Sierra and her football player Cody honored as Queen and King. The same choreography of Andrea plopping off the platform will be repeated.

The best scene in the film is the denouement where Andrea has turned in her red dress for an orange jumpsuit in prison. She has made her own crown of thorns with which she will clock the warden. She truly has discovered not only what it is like to be Queen for a day. Andrea will be the Queen of Cell Block Nine for a lifetime.

How the hell this actually got green lit I've no idea. There's so many things wrong between script, acting, plot holes, everything....it's all just so wrong.

Just say NO.

Horrible

Warning: Spoilers
Horrible writers. How does this stuff get green lighted. My 10 year old even laughed at the husband hitting his head in the pool. The back of the head. Dont want to even write about how stupid that part is. You'll see. Principal involved in the reunion. Shaking my head. Sadly Bowlby's two and half men body has gone the way of the dinosaur. But Abbie Gayle is worth watching. Oh yea. Every florist will take an order for 10 dozen Rose's on the phone without a credit card . Lmao idiot writers.

Homecoming Redux

Homecoming redux with a twist

This is a watchable movie. I've seen it before and watched it again tonight. The villain is over the top, campy, and delusionally deranged. Without all the makeup, Andrea (in prison) looks like Teri Hatcher. The movie has a fairly swift pace so there's not a ton of stupid from the protag, and we didn't have to wait the entire movie before Isabelle caught a clue. I did like that her husband was upset that she hired Andrea once he found out. I liked how their relationship was portrayed and that Lifetime didn't go the typical route of an affair or anything like that. This is a rare occasion where the villain hates both parties. The daughter was typical teenage dumb, and her parts were the most annoying. After a week, it made zero sense that she would bond with this stranger over not much at all. Especially since the entire movie, her mom tried her best to be there for her. This was also probably one of the most realistic examples of a spoiled child in this movie. She pouted nearly the entire time including finding out she would have a sibling. She was a real brat.

The climax scene at prom is all the camp we ask for from a Lifetime movie. The whole scene happened so fast and it would have been a nice touch if it was filmed in slow motion a la Carrie. I cracked up as history repeated itself.

I think the body count was too high for a campy movie like this. The husband in the beginning was really enough to show that she was unstable. The killing of the assistant and the other woman was excessive. Andrea was a bit of a hammy villain early on, but both deaths made her less entertaining.

The ending is kind of silly bc now she's never getting out of jail, but the jump scare was a nice touch (Jump scares get me every time no matter how cheesy). Also, I think it's hilarious that she has barrel curls and false lashes in prison. Lol!

My GF makes me watch this crap

Almost all LMN shows, including this one, have two things in common. First, the writing seems to have been done by 14-year-olds who failed creative writing class. Secondly, the acting is horrible. Old repeats of Antiques Roadshow have more drama.

Warning: Spoilers
Same old plot same old psycho, same old, same old, same old.

Teenage couple wind Homecoming Queen and King at their dance. The jealous rival thinks she should have won. In this one she charges on the stage to "claim" her crown and in the struggle the Queen pushes her and she falls of the stage.

Cue years of bitterness - she blames her childless state on this incident and when her husband, the old Homecoming King, hands her divorce papers at the pool of all places, she knocks him over the head and he drowns.

The arrival of the 20 year Homecoming reunion invites send her into a frenzy of revenge with innocents getting knocked off on the way to her claiming her crown at the reunion. Seen it all before.

I liked the very ending, ha ha.
