An eye for an eye
Stanlee10724 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is a film about infidelity & revenge. There is nudity & a straight forward storyline. I found it very pretentious as the writers have the characters spurting out the ethical discussions of men and cheating in motels. It is almost as though the writers are expecting applauses from the viewers for this insight but they shall not receive any from me. It is far too preachy & borderline encroaching on misandry. Women can cheat too & ought to accept their part in this!

I found the acting from the male protagonist Philippe (Marcel Dorian) very distracting. He may have the looks but his acting range is somewhat lacking or limited. He reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger in that his lines delivery seems very robotic & perhaps wooden. Furthermore, none of the characters are likeable. Perhaps the writers did this to show that everyone is flawed but it made me not invest in any one.

Icy revenge lesson
annelauremilleville2 October 2023
What a story! Introspectrum motel is a thrill from start to finish. The least we can say is that the writers had no shortage of ideas, with some surprising twists! Revenge is clearly a dish best served cold, and cheated spouses know how to savor it! Although I felt the film was a little long-winded at times, and the ending, at least for me, remains very enigmatic, this independent film is worth seeing. I particularly enjoyed Michelle Wright's performance (Felipe's wife). Some of the shots are also noteworthy, especially the outdoor scenes, which I found to be particularly well shot. However, I found the sound disturbing, to the point where I couldn't understand certain lines...

My Time is .....
vastoceanblue-853923 June 2021
Very well wasted, don't get me wrong the acting in this movie is on pare with that of The Room. Really I can't imagine comparing this movie with Basic Instinct, now that movie was the sexist film in the early 90's. I've never even heard of this film till today. At times it was a pain to sit through and the ending had no payoff what so ever. I give this movie a hard pass,

Web of Intrigue
thejhorton26 April 2023
Man, this thriller got me all wrapped up in its web of intrigue! The characters, man, they were something else, with performances so introspective and brooding that they left me feeling like I knew them like old friends. And the themes, man, they were so compelling, taking me on a wild ride of emotions and ideas. But what really got me going were the plot twists, so many of them, keeping me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

I gotta say, this flick is fresh, man. Like a breath of fresh air in a stuffy room, it left me intrigued and hungry for more. And I ain't just blowing smoke, man, this one's the real deal. I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a wild ride of a thriller with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. So don't hesitate, man, check it out and let yourself get swept up in the madness!

Hypocrite women shd be movie name
astam-8096317 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What a waste of time. Utter hypocrite. She is with the man because he is rich gynecologist. She caught him cheating and trying to punish her when she had cheated on her ex husband. The child is not of her current husband. He is being shamed for cheating while she had done it herself. Hypocrite women should have been the name of this movie.

This looks and feels like a B Movie, but eloquently acted by the cast.
rookpawn-3828829 May 2021
This isn't really a good movie in any sense of the word. Its a waste of time, but I thought the actors and actresses did a good job. I do not recommend anyone see this, other than to confirm that these low reviews are actually pretty honest. I have no idea how anyone could give this a 10/10. I mean, that is saying this movie is on par with directors like Francis Ford Coppola or Christopher Nolan. This is kind of the opposite. I dont want to be rude so this movie gets a 2/10 because of the actors.

Other than that. This movie felt like a giant regret and waste.

The scrip fails. For a movie that's use 1:28 hours of foottage, feels like more than 2hs. Repetitive. Very boring.

Has potential but the Acting for the main character was bad and that brought the entire movie down
sthanbags6 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The photograhy was nice, the argument was good, I liked the script but honestly the Phillipe carácter acting was not good at all, it seems needed direction, all others characters did a good job! And the end honestly I did not love it, this won't have a sequel and did not have any neeeds of an opened ending!

The most sexual film I've seen in while
tulipdelavega10 January 2023
I'll start this by saying I'm a big fan of movies that show skin like Basic Instinct, Nymphomaniac, Fatal Attraction and Unfaithful. I even enjoyed Deep Water and the Voyeurs which are newer releases. But the last 2 don't compare with this gem. It's so bold. I've never seen adultery portrayed this accurately and a scene taken this far in an artistic film. The angles are just amazing. The last scene was so well made that I almost felt in the room with them.

I'm sure this movie will shock quite a few, because of all the nudity, but I really enjoyed it because it was tasteful. I wish Hollywood would dare to make movies like this, but I doubt they will. I miss the 90s.

Layers upon layers upon layers...
rankthelion10 June 2021
Introspect Motel has got the reigns on multiple strong themes. Loyalty and trust. Revenge and fear, even tying basic human instincts into it. There are a lot of layers that the film peels off. Some are ripped off and some are slowly, painfully, rolled off. Great acting and kudos to the writer. It was awkward not being able to like any of my main characters by the time the film was over but like I said, each one of these people had layers to them which made for a very interesting film.

Absolute dirt. How this is getting good reviews is beyond me. A tale of revenge and regret. Boring and in realistic. Dragged out and left unsatisfied with a poor ending. Give this one a miss.

A compelling thriller
michaelfarrell27 August 2021
This is a highly engaging thriller with great character developments, compelling themes, and plenty of interesting plot twists. The characters are portrayed very well with introspective, brooding performances from a dynamic cast. The premise is fresh and leaves viewers intrigued to the finale. Highly recommend!

bad writing, worse direction
davetfilmguy10 August 2021
This film at time of writing has a 3.7 star rating which tells you everything you need to know. The writing of this film isn't very good, its very wooden, wordy and dull. The way this film was shot could have been a lot better, but i put that at the feet of the director. I think the director of this film wore too many hats, he co-wrote it, acted the main part in it, produced it and directed it, and because he is a jack of all trades, ruined it.

The movie is not shot with any style, which really lets down the more steamy sexy moments of the film, compare it to films like basic instinct or 9 and a half weeks, the sex scenes in this are very dull. The lead roles are quite wooden, and by the time the film is over you are so bored you don't care how the film ends. This is one to avoid.

Low budget Indie Rubbish
qui_j19 July 2023
One always has to be wary of movies in which the same person is the writer, Director and lead actor. They are usually vanity projects. Often, the person is a hopeless actor, and the other actors are equally bad. This film highlights all of the above. The hallmarks of low budget are all present, poor audio, tacky sets, and shoddy camera work. The first 20 minutes are enough to tell any viewer that this is a film to be avoided at all costs. The acting is wooden and amateurish, and the dialog appears improvised. The many nude scenes add little value to the story. It is a really bad movie, very, very bad!

Senseless, baseless and directionless!!
sauravjoshi8517 February 2022
Introspectum Motel is a drama film directed by Marcel Dorian and stars Marcel Dorian, Joseph Steyne, Gabriela Brinza, Michelle J. Wright and Laura Ellen Wilson.

Two strangers met at a motel and they uncover their hidden connection; together, they are forced to confront their choices, their shared history, and ultimately their humanity.

This film is totally senseless and baseless and noting more then a directionless softporn film. The plot of the film gives a very minimal glimpse of an interesting thriller film but as the film progresses the interest diminishes.

Acting is average to decent and screenplay of the film is very slow, although the length of the film is just of 1.30 hours but it seems that the film was running for ages. Climax of the film doesn't gives any closure and it seems that the director was directing a film with no proper closure.

If you can digest any softporn film then this is the film for you others please ignore.

Pretentious and boring!
icocleric13 June 2022
Pretentious, and boring, with a side dish of hypocrisy! Since the lead guy isn't the only cheat.

The pacing is slow with the script, and story being incredibly simple. It's a revenge story that has some holier than thou preaching as the revenge is taking place.

Some of the lines, and scenarios are incredibly dumb. Like the man who is committing revenge claims he has a student die in a car crash whilst taking a selfie. Like literally no one is dumb enough to do that. It's used as a preach point.

Interesting
BandSAboutMovies11 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Phillipe (Marcel Dorian, who also directed and wrote this movie with Amanda Webster and Ian Armer) and his companion, Camille (Gabriella Brinza) have just arrived at a motel on a business trip. But Camille is not truly his, a fact that both will pay for.

That's because Paul (Joseph Steyne), who works in the hotel, has already been making time with Phillipe's wife Susan (Michelle J. Wright) and, as coincidence would have it, Paul is the husband of Camille.

This is a movie packed with characters trying to destroy one another when they aren't making love to one another's wives, often right in front of each other. The Orpheus Motel is a place that seems conducive to sin, whether it's in the bed or at knifepoint.

I was pretty surprised not only by the sexual content of this movie, but by the sheer voracity of its profanity. I wasn't offended -- have you seen the aberrant movies that I watch on a daily basis? -- but I was genuinely surprised that a movie that came out recently went this far.

That said -- this pushes itself toward Cinemax fare -- a compliment in my world -- while trying unique things with its story, its performances and its camerawork.

Suspense, sexual tension and plot twists!
eliseclayton-11116 June 2021
What I loved about this movie was the combination of slow burn sexual tension and suspense which kept me gripped until the end.

The thrills were in the plot twists, the dialogue and the interwoven relationships of the main characters, rather than some of the usual thriller type shocks and action.

Joseph Steyne's performance was one of the standout highlights for me - switching from aggressive intimidator to lost, vulnerable husband - I wanted to hug him and take him home at the end! Just brilliant!

Introspectum Motel - review
paynerichard-1605013 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Introspectum Motel is a movie from which the (few) characters grow on you as the film progresses.

The main plot - and central twist - is essentially revealed by around halfway through the movie. So, after the rejected pair (Paul and Philippe's wife) spring the surprise they have known about the affair between Philippe and Paul's wife, they imprison the guilty pair. At that point the 'Inside Number 9' type twist has happened.

After that, Paul and Philippe's wife humiliate Philippe, and have sex in from of him. So they have proved their point. Then Paul leaves with his (freed) wife, and we see them chatting that they will give things another chance (although the viewer is not so convinced).

This leaves Phillipe tied to a chair with his spurned wfie still not happy. I think at this point the script-writers ran out of ideas, so the movie meanders to an ending with her snarling at him, and the final ending is not so clear.

Atmospheric Two-Hander
briandilorenzofilm8 June 2021
I really enjoyed the slow-burner that is "Introspectum Motel". Marcel Dorian delivers an introspective, moody, and atmospheric two-hander, set largely in a chic but desolate hotel. The dialogue was intriguing, filled with double entrees about "chasing mice", "the golden rule", and other brain-tickling metaphors. Also some great quotes - "F***k Christmas" was particularly good. The widescreen anamorphic cinematography presented in 2.35:1 on what seemed to be a modest budget, felt expansive and captured the interior spaces beautifully. There's a great twist approximately midway through I won't spoil here but is worth sticking around for.

Looks Beautiful
lbarker084 July 2022
This movie's strength is the cinematography and production design. It looks beautiful! The European locations, especially the exterior shots, are really cool. The makeup is wonderful too. The actors bring a compelling presence to the screen, especially the female characters.

Love Betrayal Revenge & Sex
mettlesetdesigner30 August 2022
Many layers to this slow burning thriller that really grabs the viewers and holds them through many twists and turns. The dialogue is filled with metaphors which I found intriguing. It has a dark plot with several sex scenes.....after all adultery is the theme of this story. The sex scenes are done in a tasteful manner but I wouldn't feel comfortable watching this movie with my Grandparents in the room. Still I recommend this movie.

Philippe a is married man with an appetite for women. When an affair is discovered, a vengeful spouse hijacks their date and holds Philippe hostage, ready to extract a cruel, psychological revenge. Now faced with losing everything, Philippe is forced to confront the true nature of love and hate and just how far one person will go to save a marriage. And then, something unexpected happens, plunging Philippe and his mistress into an even greater nightmare.
