I was not engaged in the characters (neither female nor male). The acting was over exaggerated (e.g. The tennis scene, the classroom scenes) and maybe the Hitleresque Prinicipal was just hyberbole for that shortcoming. It may have been the directors intent to have the behaviours exhibited pronoucedly but it seemed more cartoonish (not in good way) than necessary.
It didn't help that that there were white subtitles against mostly light scenes and/or white shirt medium shots. I was not able to follow most of the dialogue - maybe that was a blessing.
