Big Bang!
dahlintontabe16 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I have a feeling season 7 will equate season 2. Starts off with a big bang! Queen in jail, new green arrow, Lian yu again but some future stuff, quite confusing though. This is it, we're getting back at it but this time with a big bang!

I have one word....Damn
acorbo-4058016 October 2018
This episode was so good! The fight sequences look like they were out of a movie. This was one of the only epsiodes in all of the arrowverse were I actually cried at the end. The reveals are shocking and you don't see them coming. I was on the edge of my seat the whole episode. It is dark and I actually gasped out loud many times. This is not only one of the best episode of arrow ever, but one of the best episodes of tv!

New Era New Showrunner New Season
TheRahul00716 October 2018
And that's how you build on momentum from last season's finale. Coming to this episode where Oliver is locked in a prison there is a brutal shower fight scene which goes on with a simultaneous fight scene between Felicity and Diaz. Overall this episode was a perfect 10 outta 10 and that ending will surely surprise you. Well done

Warning: Spoilers
This has to be one of ARROW's strongest premier of the series. We're seeing these characters in new spaces. Oliver in prison and seeing his day to day was amazing. Dinah's and Rene's back and forth shouldn't have taken a major portion of the episode; however, I believe that it will have a big payoff.

The flash forward literally had me jumping off my seat! Talk about ending the episode with a bang! William's and Roy's dynamic this season will be extremely interesting to watch. I'm excited how they bring the flash forwards and the present timeline full circle. Could Roy and William be the new era of Arrow.

Felicity's new character arc is very enjoyable to watch and I am really looking forward to her development this season. Got really tired of her just being overwatch.

Loved that they don't reveal the NGA right away. I think its extremely effective that they take their time with the reveal; much like Adrian's reveal.

Overall, this season has a feel that hasn't been present in years since its first 3 seasons. The stakes are high and the story is engaging and mysterious.

Makes you fall in love with Arrow again!
shrinidhi11116 October 2018
Arrow premieres have usually been a let down for me, not because of the production but because they more or less ignore the previous season's finale. Think about the million ways they could've gone after blowing up the island in Season 5. But Season 6 premier started like just a usual Arrow episode...

But that all changes now! This premier, the consequences of the previous story line is perfectly continued... Oliver in prison, the new lives and motives of the rest of the crew and the rising threats... Everything I wanted to see is there!

I don't want to spoil anything, but this show never ceases to surprise.. If you have been following Arrow all this while, I can guarantee that you're in for a treat.

Green is the New Black
highmarksreviews16 October 2018
With season six being a rollercoaster of good and bad, but ending on a relative strong note, I was hyped but also a little concerned going into season seven. And while those concerns aren't entirely washed away, I can confidently say that Arrow just established a strong footing going forward. Ollie (Stephen Amell) had an incredible time in prison, that much is for sure. I loved the atmosphere of Slabside. It felt authentic and immersive, aided by the return of many familiar villains. James Bamford's direction was also evidently clear, as the shower fight and really any other fisticuffs this episode felt fresh, brutal and bare-knuckle. As for all the other characters, that plot point has me intrigued, but a little unsure. The show still has a lot of supporting cast moving forward, and needs to establish prominent arc's to keep the momentum going, something that was done a little poorly here. However, I must say, the performances were a standout. Props to the actors for committing on such a deep level. Also, expect some surprises. So, with gritty action, a revamped structure and a few twists, "Inmate 4587" is a great opening to a new era.

Well, Arrow better than The Flash, this time!
breathedirt18 October 2018
I actually pretty much liked this episode. It was a very good start of the new season. Something, I haven't seen in this show for a long time. The only thing I didn't like was Felicity's whining and her stupidity. After her line "you don't get to decide this time, Oliver", I almost threw my laptop out of the window. Thank God that didn't happen as I wouldn't have seen the amazing ending of the episode. Go see it!

Bold New Direction
ThomasDrufke17 October 2018
It's going to take a lot for me to get fully back on board with this show after the debacle that was season 6. And maybe I won't ever get to the point we were at in season 5, 2, or 1. But this premiere was certainly an indication that they are heading a new and bold direction. Which I can always appreciate with CW shows.

Hands down the best part of this episode came with the prison material. I love that they are embracing it and hopefully not going to part ways with this storyline after a few episodes. Seeing Oliver deal head on with the criminals he put in jail is a nice touch, even if it only consisted of Brick, Turner, and Sampson. And the fight scenes, oh man the fight scenes. It's no shock this was an episode directed by Bamford. The shower fight, the long take during Rene's fight, and that last sequence in the prison courtyard was masterful direction and choreography. I quite often wish he was directing every week.

The rest of the episode was a bit of a mixed bag for me. On one hand, it was nice that they chose to take the characters in a new direction, and really, every one of them is doing something new. Even if not all of them are necessary on the show (some are clearly not. I.e. Curtis, William). I could also do without any more of Diaz and that lose thread. I'm more than ready for someone new.

Last but not least, we got the reveal of a new archer and also the appearance of flash forwards? That was a big surprise I didn't see coming. It's a cool idea that could certainly bring a new dynamic to the show, I just worry about the logistics of it. Are we going to get them every single week? Is that the only Roy is going to play this season? And do we really need more William? However, all in all, this was a solid start to what will hopefully be a return to form for Arrow.

Those last 2 minutes just changed the game!
Sam_Ash_7616 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Well... what a premiere! As usual, Arrow has produced the strongest premiere of the DCTV Shows so far (Legends hasn't aired just yet) and when you think you've seen it all... the show still surprises you.

Season Six of "Arrow" started off as quite a dull affair, it included mediocre episodes revolving around Diggle as Green Arrow and a rather lame villain (Cayden James) in the first 10 or so episodes, however the second half of the season vastly improves on the first. The sixth season of Arrow ended on arguably the biggest cliffhanger in the shows history (I mean, Lian Yu explosion was big, but, did we really think that they'd a main character off?), Oliver Queen told the entire world he is the Green Arrow.

The Seventh Season of "Arrow" picked off 5 months after we'd left off, which, does make me confused at the timeline of these shows (because "Nora", Flash's fifth season premiere, picks off exactly from where it finishes in the season four finale). This episode delivered exactly what I was expecting from new showrunner Beth Schwartz, a very fresh feeling, incredible writing for our heroes and some truly badass action scenes.

The biggest fault I have with this premiere is the relationship that Felicity briefly has in her barrister position with a random customer, I really felt like this didn't need to be included and honestly this time should've been spend on developing Oliver's feelings in the prison or the flash forwards. This isn't a major fault, but its definitely one worth mentioning for the writers to improve on next time, needless romantic drama isn't needed CW, please stop.

Oliver in prison was another extremely refreshing part of this premiere episode and I also like how the writers aren't taking the easy way out of immediately releasing him, and I hope they don't... at least for a while. I found the prison conflict to be interesting and it definitely placed Oliver in a good dilemma for the audience to have a discussion about, should Oliver not interfere with saving others from prison beatings (in order to shorten his sentence and get back to his family as fast as possible) or should he save the person so that they can get back to their family alive when their time is up.

The best part of this premiere was the flash forwards, William meeting futuristic Roy was something I never thought this show would ever do. I'd always wondered exactly how they were going to end this show when the finale came, however, I never thought that Roy and William would be the ultimate endgame for the show. I thought these were refreshing and were definitely worth putting in. However, I would really love to see these link up with the present day storyline, I'm unsure on how this could occur, but I think its worth doing to try and make these flash forwards feel more beneficial to the show.

A FINAL LIST OF PROS/CONS FOR THIS EPISODE: Pros:
  • That first two minutes that show an average day Oliver has in prison.
  • Oliver's prison conflict was interesting.
  • Felicity deciding to fight back is also great.
  • I like the positions each team member has at the moment.
  • Who is the new Green Arrow? (I'm very happy they didn't reveal it in one episode).
  • The Flashforwards! (They're intriguing to the audience, I desperately want to know exactly what happened to lead up to this moment).
  • The refreshing feel the premiere has.
  • The action sequences are astonishing (like usual).

Cons:
  • Felicity's unnecessary relationship.
  • Wilddog's whole subplot needs a little more depth put towards it.

FINAL VERDICT: 9.5/10

Man! THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN!!!

Warning: Spoilers
The last 2 minutes of the episode just made the whole show way more interesting to watch.

Besides, the arrow was more bad ass than ever in the prison!! Man, those fights in the shower and the beat up of gang leaders, it's worth watching again and again!

I hope the writers decide to keep arrow in the prison for 7/8 episodes at least. I enjoy the prison climax a lot!

and by the way, I am thinking, may be the emergence of the flash's daughter Nora and Arrow's son William is connected somehow. Let's see !

Good to see the old formula
sscialli16 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It's nice to see the love story set up, no greater is the love of two people separated by circumstance whom still love and can't touch each other. Action was top notch and direct, the confusion for me is why the staggered timeline, again. William is a young man, not a teen then he's a teen and whammo he's an adult. That is confusing as all hell.

One of the Best Start
azimov_ahmadxon19 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It was a better start than I've expected. Actors acted their parts very well and convincingly. Ben Turner, Derek Sampson and Danny are great trio that can provoke Oliver into doing smth stupid and that is making series much more interesting and exciting. Last 2 minutes was amazing and unexpected. However, smth never changes: 'whining' and 'to be or not to be'.

Great First Episode!

Warning: Spoilers
I feel like this episode was a good premiere. I usually don't enjoy Felicity but in this episode she was actually alright. I loved the two parallel fight scenes between Oliver in prison and Felicity fighting Diaz. The new Green Arrow was interesting as well. My favorite thing about this episode though was the flashforwards. The flashforwards were the most interesting thing about the premiere for me.

I thought everything about this episode was great except Dinah and Rene arguing about the new arrow vigilante. I guess that part was okay but I easily know that was the weakest part of this episode.

Confusing and extremely fast
frednickjr1616 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
As a big fan of arrow I loved the fight scenes of Oliver in prison. But the episode felt a little rushed. The flash forward didn't actually tell us when this was happening or if it was flashback for that matter. As for the positives I thought it was interesting to see everyone adjust to life outside of team arrow. Rene having to struggle with being outed as wildog. Felicity struggling to protect William. All the while Oliver doesn't save a man from getting beat because he wants to keep his head down. And seeing him helpless to save his family was interesting as well. Plus we got to see Roy. Hopefully the story will make more sense down the line.

Arrow is back!!!
tem-7378616 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode continues the story line with diaz wanting to destroy Oliver and take everything he loves from him while also setting up two new story lines with the new green arrow and the FlashForward with William and Roy. And honestly, the episodes did those 3 story line very well. But I felt the new green arrow story is a bit used too much, but maybe they will play it in a different way this time. The scenes with Oliver in prison were so brutal, specially the bathroom fight scene. Also it was quite shocking how diaz just shows up and tries to kill William. The team tries to move on with life after Oliver went to prison and surprisingly, they're not that annoying. Now let's talk about my favorite part from the episode, the FlashForward with William and Roy. It was kinda shocking because we didn't know it was William and why is Roy on the island?? And why is William on the island searching for Roy?? I guess we'll have to wait and see. Over all a great premiere that made me very interested and loving arrow again. P. S. The next episode is titled the longbow hunters, I'm soooo excited!

This episode gives me season one and two vibes and makes the characters likable again. It also brings back the good choreography from the earlier seasons. My only problem is the flash forwards because I feel like they might start taking away from how relevant present day is.
