Government torturer and all-around scumbag Jace Turner is featured in this digusting look at a state that has destroyed civil liberties...

... and a population that has embraced that destruction for a little more 'safety.' It's a well done and ultimately painful allegory of the United States in this century.

Needs a few seasons to mature
stratus_phere16 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The idea for this show definitely has potential, but it's being played out in such a weak fashion. It's not ready for prime time. We don't want to watch a show with nothing but inadequate and feeble characters. A perfect example is the suburbia scene when the local jugheads show up. The mutants could have easily disarmed and immobilized them. But instead we get this goofy play-out with the mutants half-heartedly shoving them a bit and then running away.

What we want are strong lead characters! Get it? Don't give us weakness, or we will stop watching. Strong lead characters that win! In fact, I would suggest all of us wait for a dozen or so more episodes before we tune in again. I'm guessing by then the show will hit its stride and hire better writers.

However, most shows hit their peak in seasons 2-4, and then die out. That means by the time this show becomes good it will be too late.

Kids aren't dead yet...

...and why not? Husband adds nothing, kids are just annoying(girl is 16 w/ a boob job already, boy is just BLECCCH), Amy Acker is fine as a stand-alone...why do they still draw breath? Hopefully, they'll kill the kids and hubby, and Amy Acker will become the de facto leader of the mutant resistance in their memory. We all know she can kick all kinds of buttocks.

Four episodes in and I am bored to heck...

Not worth your time unless just teens-with-powers is enough. Unlike, let's say, The Tomorrow People, the acting, actors, writing are just flat. The villainous anti-mutant agency is just too villainous. The hatred for mutants throughout the whole population seems so intense that it should be impossible for any mutants to assimilate. The first four episodes are about escaping, getting captured, running away ... repeat 2-3X per episode. OH... and all the superpowers and just a bit wonky... so often ineffective. I can enjoy a lot of dumb fun action shows ... this one is just too dumb and not nearly fun enough.
