Hard to judge
So it's a really old film and it's in a different language. Hence, my judgement may not be valid. But I love old films and I'm particularly attracted to the silent German films. Among my favorites Nosferatu, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Metropolis, Faust, Dr. Mabuse, Hands of Orlac, The Golem.
There's nothing much to recommend this film, The photography is ordinary (and Pabst was the director, though it was early in his career) and the acting is comical even for the silent era.
