Consistent chuckles

It never really gets you to roar from laughter, but he's charming and funny and you smile and chuckle a lot. Good range of jokes, although some points drawn for certain topics. This stand-up works fine for any low range humour- you don't roar, as I said, but you smile and chuckle, and honestly, that's fine.

Another Craig Ferguson Hit

If you enjoy Ferguson's weird brand of humor, you will want to watch Tickle Fight, his latest stand up performance. Having departed the Late Late Show, Craig is again free to use words and ideas banned from broadcast television.

Now this was actually quite fun...

Now, I wasn't familiar with Craig Ferguson in a stand-up comedy sense, as I had only seen him in "The Drew Carey Show". But I found the show on Netflix, and decided to give it a chance, because I was somewhat familiar with him from the sitcom.

It turned out that he is actually a very funny man, and he has some talent for standing on the stage performing and telling jokes. His material was rather good, and very diverse as he got around many different topics.

Craig Ferguson certainly has a great on-screen charisma, which definitely works to his advantage.

"Tickle Fight" is a good hour of fun and laughs, and I can warmly recommend you take the time to watch it if you haven't already seen it.

A lot of great punch lines, with a lot of punch

If you enjoyed Craig Ferguson's stand-up routines that began his CBS Late Late Show for 10 years, you will probably like this Netflix special. The tone of this show is similar to the TV show routines-- sly, original, mocking yet somehow gentlemanly. (Maybe it's the accent?)

Many of the topics covered are standard--politics, culture, and self- deprecation. But the wit and disarming delivery are Ferguson's alone, and if some of the topics are familiar, others are new, and the humor itself is fresh--in two senses of the word.

Personally, I was a fan of the opening monologues of Ferguson's Late Late Show, and I found this special even funnier.

Well, I Don't Know

Warning: Spoilers
I really liked Craig on his TV show, but after 10 years, he was running out of ideas and it became rather obvious. I think he's still out of ideas. I never really liked Craig as a stand-up; his Bing Hitler persona was just hot garbage drowning in a thick Scottish accent and a sheep song. And his other stand-up special was hardly… special. I suspect he is more clever in person than on stage.

Craig was always a good storyteller and that comprises most of this show. I could sit and listen to him tell stories all night. Then I got to the end of this and realized that that was what I had done and there were very few jokes involved. He even literally said that "there was only going to be one joke in this show". Mission accomplished!

The real question I had was the whole "tickle fight" thing. "Cheeky Monkeys" would have, at least, been an understandable reference. If he explained what "tickle fight" was all about, I missed it and it didn't add anything to his stories, so, what the hell? It seemed like he just randomly threw it in and it didn't mean anything. And, unfortunately, that kind of sums up this very forgettable stand-up act. Better luck, next time, Craig.
