Absolutely dreadful, misleading title and the plot twist will literally give you brain cancer
RoysR12328 September 2017
I cried, I laughed and it was a whole different experience for me, not coz it was good, but it was so terrible that those 2 hours I spend watching this movie will be never be forgotten, insane torture. First of all let's talk about the set up of this film, 2 helicopters and one isolated house in middle of nowhere, wait now add some b grade actors, you're done. Sometimes, the set was looking like Durga puja's pandal, bong can refer to that. I solely respect and admire prosenjit sir, but how he can do such films? Even the audience were highly disappointed.

A travesty

I never was a Srijit Mukherji fanboy, and this movie most certainly didn't change my mind. Everything in the movie is wrong, I don't even know where to begin my review. Well, let's start with the characterization.

Santu in the books doesn't talk much (unlike his friend Jojo), but underneath his quiet demeanor, he is extremely street smart, indomitable and courageous. Santu in this movie is like a scared, wet rat, fleeing at the onset of anything resembling danger.

Kakababu in the books isn't a boastful person, in fact, he dislikes being praised even by others (like Narendra Verma, a frequent associate). Kakababu in this movie is full of hyperbole and bravado. "Go back and tell people Sherpas can have the last name Roy Chowdhury", are you serious?

There's also a woman who is supposed to an officer in the Indian army (a character not present in the book but obviously the director wanted a female in the otherwise all male cast in order to lure a certain demographic of viewers), and is played by a Bengali actor who tries really hard to sound like a non Bengali. What's up with the fake accent lady?

Then there're these unnecessary and annoying songs that seem to be written to please Shah Jahan, praising the king and all.

Watch commercials on the TV instead of watching this movie, it'll be a far better use of your time.

Ridiculous
souravray-kol30 September 2017
I always feel that Srijit is third grade director in mask of pseudo- intellectual. This movie proved my point. Studying renowned director's book or copying their style won't help him to be a director. Worst movie of the year ( may be Deb's cockpit better than this movie unfortunately). Complete waste of money with a very bad script and camera.

Worst of Bengali Cinema
souravslove23 March 2018
One of the worst recent cinemas. It has no stories, no acting, basically this movie is just not watchable. Total waste of money.

Absolutely Trash!
tcchem3 May 2018
Terrible script, full of unnecessary sarcasms makes it more horrible! "Yeti" is like "Hagrid"!!! Sorry, I couldn't laugh at this, my bad. Director Mukherjee needs to revisit the basics of script writing! Though I forwarded many parts of the movie what I could not bear with at all, whatever it was a complete waste of time.

GREAT movie! :)
iamhereintheworld5 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
For the first half of the movie, almost nothing happens - they just keep trudging through the snow, and they keep going, and going, and going, with very little happening to affect the story! Prosenjit's character constantly admonishes, sermonises and lectures Shontu, WHILE ACCOMPLISHING VERY LITTLE HIMSELF, till you really feel like socking his lights out. Hard. Couple of times, just to make sure you got it right. THEN - waaaaaaay into the movie, long past the intermission, stuff starts actually HAPPENING! There are plot twists at every bend, and plenty of action, culminating in, and I don't want to give away the story here, the secret of the Yeti itself! And - it's great to see Shontu, a young character, engaged in plenty of heroics instead of merely being a sidekick. This was a GREAT movie overall, and I have a feeling the book would have been a great read too, had I read it. I would DEFINITELY recommend you go and watch it. Just to say - the theme song sounds a lot like the World Cup song.

Painful to watch
amitdhar-0269020 March 2018
I waited long enough for this movie after I watched "Mishor Rahasya" from the same team. We had national award winning director Srijit and veteran actor Prasenjitin this film, but still WHAT A CRAP!! I didn't have any clue that this film will be such a blunder. The director seemed to have hardly any control over the film and it was something like "Act as you like" for the rest. The less I talk about Prasenjit, is better. I liked his hairstyle though. Jishu Sengupta did a complete injustice to his ability and acted like a comedian in a serious role. The story and script were complete nonsense, far away from being a thriller. I feel bad for those who spent their hard earned money expecting a lot and went to theatre.

Disappointing Movie from Srijit Mukherji
krisige31 March 2018
After Autograph and 22 Se Srabon, one could never have imagined this movie is written and directed by the same person. It seems like Srijit Mukherji is outsourcing the screenplay part and was high on something during the production and post production process.

We have seen several good examples of asymmetric film making but in my opinion this movie lacks imagination and underutilized the star power along with the positive response the series received from the previous film Mishor Rahasya.

As a fan of Bengali cinema, Kakababu Series and Srijit Mukherji, I am totally disappointed.
