- Under the platform on which the paragon stands while being judged, is a pillar that the people sentenced therein are using themselves as a ladder to try to climb up and out of the inferno beneath. When the paragon tries to reach down to pull one up and out, the judge becomes angry and closes the pit which causes the screaming people to fall.
