- A person jokingly talks about sex briefly.
- An older man is briefly seen shirtless twice.
- It is heavily suggested throughout the film that the child abductor and murderer is also a pedophile. Bizarre sequence of a game called "naughty boy" with pedophilic sexual undertones. In one scene, he tells a young boy that he will not "do anything to him that he will not like," implying child molestation.
- A little girl is seen briefly in a bath but only her head and one of her shoulders is seen.

- In one of the opening scenes, one of the protagonists is shown fighting a bully. The protagonists beats up the bully. He is later seen washing blood off of his hands.
Profanity

- Finney's sister Gwen uses strong profanity throughout the movie.
- One of the dead boys is very explicit and uses "fuck", "motherfucker" or other swear words multiple times in many sentences. He also calls a boy a "cuntwad" at one point.
- One use of the racial slur "beaner".
- 3 bullies call Finney a "fag."

- A father repeatedly hits his daughter with a belt, resulting in her loudly crying. May be triggering for abuse survivors.

- The kidnap scene is very intense and eerily realistic.
- Quite a few startling jumpscares.
- Spanking of a young girl, no nudity but the scene is disturbing.
- The film as a whole is intense, and it has an unsettling and creepy atmosphere.
- A child is kidnapped and put into a van. The most disturbing thing about this is how realistic it is.

Violence & Gore
- A man falls down a hole and breaks his ankles, but this occurs in dark cinematography so no gore is shown.
- A man is stabbed and dies. The scene is shocking but quick, some blood and gore is shown. His corpse is briefly seen later on during the same scene.
- In a flashback sequence, a kid cuts another kid
- A young girl is hit by her drunken father with a belt striking numerous blows to her lower body, she is heard screaming and crying throughout.
- A young boy beats an older man with a telephone, and then proceeds to strangle him to death with the cord of the phone.
- The ghosts of murdered children appear throughout. All of their appearances depict mutilated body parts and open bloody wounds.
- Thought there is some blood shown, this film is not gory or graphic. Some scenes are intense, but there is no torture shown on screen.
- Max (James Ransone's character) is axed in the head, blood sprays on a wall very briefly and he is seen walking and dropping to his knees with the axe in his head and blood dripping for about 3 seconds before he falls down and dies, he is later shown in a small pool of blood, scene last about 10 seconds and it's the most gore we see in the film.
- The killer swings an axe into his brother's head. When he takes it out you hear squelching. (Very violent and graphic).

Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The film's story centres on an adult man who kidnaps a teenaged boy and then imprisons him. It is clear the boy's life is in danger, and these scenes have a strong sense of physical and psychological threat throughout the film, including holding a knife to the boy's throat and eventually trying to kill him with an axe so he can be fed to his dog. He is also shown to deprive him of food and water.
- Throughout the movie the grabber threatens Finney with awful fates. Example: "you say one f-cking word and I will gut you like a pig" may trigger kidnapping survivors.
