enjoyable but thin

Argon is a thought provoking, powerful drama. It's one of the only dramas I've seen where the plot doesn't just focus on the main characters. Everyone has an equal role, which further emphasises the teamwork amongst the actors as well as the 'reporters' they play. I particularly like Kim Baek-Jin's character; although strict and seemingly arrogant, he was a fantastic team leader. Lee Yeon-Hwa could have perhaps had a love interest; I felt that the romantic element of the drama was a bit dry. Other than that, if you're interested in crime or journalism, you'll enjoy this drama.

A truth waiting to be uncovered
alaningle77 February 2022
Argon is an investigative news programme which is aired late at night on a Korean tv station that comes into conflict with the main news team and the head of the company which it is part of. The series deals mainly with the newsroom teams falling out within the company and conflict within the team itself whilst they uncover corruption in high places. The series revolves around the main reporter played by Kim Ju-Hyeok who is called psycho by his team but is greatly respected by them and his peers even though his determination takes it's toll on his life and family. A well acted drama with good direction around the progress of the main story which is a building collapse, but sadly the story is weak regarding character development and that means although the story is interesting you fail to connect with the players.

Kan sa mi da (thank you)

The constant fight against corruption spreading at all levels of administration and politics a fight of resistance in everyday life it's something Italian and Korean people share.

Argon is a compelling drama with exceptional characters and actors which I will really miss. The young passionate journalist and her hero the famous reporter and team leader , the chief editor and all the Argon team , the stories of the characters involved in dramatic news and above all the interior fight and dilemma between Justice and safety

I really wish there will be second season even if we will miss somebody very much. After forest of Secrets this is the second Korean drama fiction but I really think deserves attention from Europe and West.

News without facts is garbage
thursdaysrecords12 April 2021
A true news anchor will never accept viewer ratings over honest and fact based journalism. When members of the struggling Argon news team are tempted to bow to pressure from the executive office, their anchor man refuses to abandon his integrity and fights the obvious shadiness and corruption even if it should cost him his job. The climactic ending of the pilot episode will bring a tear to viewers' eyes.

This is a refreshing look at the world of TV news in the fast paced era of iphones and instant reporting, where the success of a news program correlates with the "bottom line" of popularity and generated profits. As stated during an after hours team gathering at a pub, we should always remind ourselves that "news without facts is garbage!" - Argon delivers facts when they report the news. To this viewer, they've delivered binge-worthy entertainment!
