Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • We see the aftermath of a car crash. A man's body slumps onto the hood of the car, having crashed through the windshield. We see blood dripping from his limp hand. The crash itself is not seen onscreen.
  • A character bakes rat poison into a pie then consumes a slice. She cuts another slice but is interrupted before eating it. She vomits blood into the toilet. She loses consciousness and wakes up later to find that her sons have eaten the rest of the pie. One appears to be already dead but the other vomits blood onto his mother. These images and her sobbing are thoroughly disturbing.
  • A woman walks through a grocery store carrying a gun, looking for her husband. When she finds him he tries to get her to drop the gun, but she shoots herself in the abdomen and bleeds to death. Onscreen we see her aim the gun but the shot cuts to a character elsewhere in the store when the shot is fired. We see the result of the shot, but not the shot itself.
