Excellent movie; Every moment interesting; No weak points anywhere; I watched it twice
SHSandh29 October 2019
The story is very detailed, plausible, convincing yet simple. It is a primer on information security (info-sec) and mainly describes the exploits possible by social engineering. There is nothing of the sophisticated, hi-tech software and device hacking which we are accustomed to associating with online frauds.

A young man succeeds in stealing a voluntarily retired person's money (INR 5 million/50 lacs) from his savings bank account. This retired person has a young daughter. That young man, in furtherance of his fraudulent scheme, also hooks up with the young daughter and secretly video tapes his amorous first date (involving physical intimacy et al.) with her. He then offers the intimate video online for payment in bitcoins. The father does some important, amateur detective work while taking the help of the law to nab the culprit, recover his money and bar his daughter's video from getting on the internet.

Interpersonal relationships between the parents and their kids have been portrayed sensitively and effectively. Several psychological aspects have been explored quite well. These include the parents having to deal with two young, grown up kids one of whom is (unthinkably) in a live-in relationship on campus in the USA, and the other, a daughter on her first affair through online chatting. The story also delves into the mind of the fraudster. Then, very relevantly, the story touches on the travails of a friendly family and the fatal rebelliousness of their young daughter. This is interspersed with the worrisome situation in the life of the Inspector, whose long unemployed engineer son takes money from his dad for his expenses.

The movie rightfully points out that many, especially older folk, are computer, internet and smart phone challenged and averse to embracing and fully understanding modern technology, gadgets and internet banking including their risks, challenges and safeguards, and how that very aspect is exploited by fraudsters, with dire consequences.

Two episodes are particularly memorable: The daughter telling her online boy-friend that she subconsciously scored mediocre in her exams to not outshine her low achieving parents (this was deep, by the way), considering that her USA studying brother had excelled; the pent-up and devastated father's outburst at the traffic signal because the youth behind him was honking even when the red light was on.

Mahesh Manjrekar (as Inspector Pawar) was the highlight in the acting lineup. He was very good and his role as an unpretentious cyber crime policeman provides several lightly amusing laughs and that makes the movie more rounded. His role was a happy contrast to the eccentric baddie which he has been in most Bollywood movies.

The diminutive Parna Pethe (as the daughter Sanika) performed exceedingly well, with great sensitivity and nuance. She was another highlight.

Sachin Khedekar (as Sudhir Deshpande, the father) was a treat to watch, as usual. In fact, all the actors in this movie were good.

The movie has a happy ending and that, though not immediately obvious, makes it enjoyable. And, the success of the police has been achieved without any undue heroism or histrionics; its just sincere, painstaking detective work.

The background music score was noticeable but not ostensible and helped to keep up the suspense in the story.

A special thumps-up to Mahesh Manjrekar for his endearing portrayal and producing this excellent can-be-watched-more-than-once movie (in fact I watched it twice).

Handle Your Information Securely, No Data Leaks Allowed!
amolagirhe26 October 2018
Keeping the mixed audience in mind, the director has really managed the plot very well. The script is very much aligned to the challenges being faced by common man today. Common man of India hardly understand the complexities created due to the technology. Teenagers unknowingly shares most confidential information over the chat in casual manner and don't think about any consequences about it. The movie demonstrates how vulnerable the society has become given the social media's influence in everybody's life! Mahesh and Sachin has done justice to their roles. Although the plot is around cyber crime, the director intelligently focuses on the importance of the trust shared by the family members (with each other). This is really cool about the movie.

I would recommend this movie for following reasons: 1. Covers the examples of cyber crimes (today's world) 2. Strengthening Family Values 3. What you don't do on social media?

Look forward to more movies like this!

Cyber Crime 101
durvankur-7541320 August 2019
Take Care Good Night is portrayed as a thrilling movie, but is adequately paced for audience of all ages. It's quite a predictable end, however the screenplay keeps you engaged throughout the run time of the movie.

The movie at its soul deals with cyber crimes and how easy it is to hack into someone's personal information and siphon of data or money. However, in the background, it also deals with the issues of family values and upbringing of the kids.

The cast has done a good job, providing enough honesty to their characters. It is Mahesh Manjrekar though, who uplifts his role as a mere cyber crime officer with his witty liners and comic timing.

Should you watch this movie? Yes. It's a good family entertainer with important lessons for the current online world.

Good topic, Educational & Informative story!
amitspune25 July 2019
We should appreciate the efforts taken by director. Rarely selected topic in Bollywood as well. All characters acted well. Sachin Khedekar is as solid as ever. Story should have been more focused on Daughter. Almost all possible cyber frauds explained except camera hack. It can happen with anyone. Actually happened with many. Should have at least basic knowledge. Would love to watch part 2 if coming.

A film based on what if juxtaposed against daily life
ishansharma-9560511 November 2018
The film is a typical Basu Chatterjee style film minus the comedy and added seriousness. The film attempts to spread awareness about cyber crime wherein the protagonist recalls his story. Characters are realistic. No one except the villain per se are shown as evil. Its take on police is surprisingly positive. Along with this, it also explores bonds of family, fresh emergence of youth and old age. The film is too simple at places. Direction is good. Screenplay could be better. Ending and Beginning also need improvement.

Quirk4712 July 2020
There r many elements in this movie. Father - daughter relationship,How today gen girls be like , Unemployment issues , Family responsibilities..and many others. It was interesting in first hour but Second hour it goes like explanation of things done in first hour. Its not a routine film and also not a brilliant film. With few flaws Screenplay would have been better. Crispy runtime males us sit. A neat Thriller !

About Online privacy: Must watch for teenage parents and children!
rtoac124 November 2023
This is a Marathi language film starring Sachin Khedekar, Mahesh Manjrekar and Iravati Harshe.

This film is a must watch for parents, especially teenage parents and teenage children alike. In today's era where online privacy is a great issue threatening both the lives and future of the next generations.

The film's plot is about how a young vulnerable girl falls into one such situation. The biggest learning is to first confide in your parents. And for parents to then approach law enforcement. Any hesitation or delays in the above two steps is what makes the situation more complex.

The performances are great, and in multiple situations the film falls into an educative zone which while taking a bit away from the pace of the film, is very crucial to convey the message.

Worst Thriller
asmdhero2117 October 2018
Script has no research about facts of sim blocking. If your sim blocked then phone still works. Sachin was using iphone but he never checks his mail on phone in Europe he can use WiFi. The behaviour of characters and art direction of their house is just impossible. Many loo falls in film. Is sachin has only one identy n address proof. As a paying guest inspector pawar don't ask about details to landlord How's it possible? By minute n by second just u ll get flaws of you know least about technology. Waste of investors money.

AWARENESS AND FIGHT AGAINST CYBRE CRIME
SAMTHEBESTEST30 August 2018
TAKE CARE GOOD NIGHT REVIEW :

"Good morning I am calling from so and so co. Congratulations you have won a free voucher/gift, you are the lucky winner Just provide your bank details claim your prize" OR "Hello sir I am calling from Bank, for the Security reasons we need to know your bank details." Basically we all receive such fraud calls and E-Mails and people decline it as far as Illiterate/Techno savvy people are concerned while some not so Techno savvy or desperate people fall for it and later find themselves trapped in a Scam. Take Care Good Night (TCGN) talks on this socially important topic and manages to create awareness for the people who should not fall for it. If you are not a Technology lover, you don't like being Internet freak then at least have some basic knowledge so that this kind of Frauds can't fool you easily.

Story revolves around Avinash (Sachin Khedekar) who has taken a VRS and now wish to spend time with his Family. He is living with wife Aasavari (Iravati Harshe) who is a councillor and his teenage Daughter Sanika (Parna Pethe). Avinash and Aasavari goes to Europe for 15 days to spend some quality time and when they returned Avinash founds that somebody has used his Bank Account and has stolen approx 50 Lacs. Completely Shattered and Shocked Avinash immediately goes to Cyber crime branch and request Inspector Pawar (Mahesh Manjarekar) to help him find whoever has done it. Later on, all the suspense like who did it, why he did so and how he did it, unfolds in this 110 minutes tight and gripping screenplay. TCGN has a well crafted first half which makes the momentum get going and keep you excited but in 2nd half addition of Youth Generation Problems with thier Parents and also Emotional bonding looked bit stretching. The momentum created in 1st half goes in vain. Actors, Writers have done thier job very well but the technical team had more scope. Along with the Direction somewhere Production also sounds little less than expected but never goes fully dull and that's where one can say TCGN has managed to reach it's destination. It might have some ups and downs but the Conviction is there till the End.

Overall, TCGN can be called a Great attempt for trying this Techno-thriller genre in Marathi industry. We have not seen this genre yet and TCGN will be called Pioneer of that in coming days. RATING- 5/10*
