In 2023, after many years in development, a new adaptation of the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons came out via Paramount Pictures, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Unfortunately, the movie underperformed despite positive reviews.
The adaptation was set in the Forgotten Realms and was a standalone, with no connections to the previous Dungeons & Dragons film trilogy released between 2000 and 2012. The film had been in production since 2013 at different studios, including Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures, and with different writers and directors. Although Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was not a big hit, since it came out, the fantasy heist comedy has steadily attracted interest on streaming, and is now back in the charts, per Tudum.
In the week between Mar. 3 and 9, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves returned to the charts, debuting at No. 10 on the U.S. charts. Although the streaming service doesn't provide viewership numbers for specific territories,...

Mayim Bialik became a fan favorite after playing Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory. As Sheldon’s equally awkward yet brilliant girlfriend, she brought a fun element to the show, winning over audiences with her wit and humor. But when it came to appearances, she was never meant to be the standout. That role was reserved for Penny, who fit the show’s idea of the classic beauty.

Netflix is rolling the dice on a new era for Dungeons & Dragons fans as Shawn Levy is set to produce a new series set in the legendary Forgotten Realms. News of the streamer’s foray into the world of questing comes as they prepare to welcome the Chris Pine 2023 movie adaptation, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, to their library on February 26. After previous attempts to bring the franchise to the small screen at Paramount+ were spirited away, it looks like Netflix could be the one to finally deliver a successful D&d universe.
The Dungeons & Dragons franchise is one that should be a huge moneyspinner for whoever gets it right. After almost five decades as one of the best-know table-top RPG games, the franchise has previously failed to stick the landing when it comes to live-action adaptations. Spain’s Film Factory Entertainment has added to its burgeoning Berlin sales slate of star-laden upscale entertainment titles with market potential, acquiring international distribution rights to psychological mystery thriller “Reversion,” starring Jaime Lorente, who played the conflicted Denver in “Money Heist.”
Film Factory Entertainment will present a first promo of “Reversion”at this week’s European Film Market in Berlin.
As producers push casts as a manner to stand out in a far too crowded market, “Reversion” also stars Manu Vega (“With the Years I have Left”), Belen Rueda, lead in J.A. Bayona’s debut “The Orphanage,” and Fernando Cayo, Coronel Tamayo in “Money Heist.”
Co- written by Marco Legarde (“UFO Factory”) and Frank Ariza (“With the Years I have Left”), alongside first-time director Jacob Santana, “Reversion” turns on Mario (Lorente) who moves to a new house with his parents and older brother David (Vega).
One rainy afternoon, Mario witnesses his brother being violently kidnapped.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is about to roll another death-saving throw, as the popular fantasy movie is about to land on a new streaming home. Honor Among Thieves is based on the immensely popular tabletop role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons, created in 1974 by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson. With the game having a surge in popularity in recent years, thanks to streamers like Critical Role and Dimension 20, Paramount Pictures attempted to capitalize on that success in 2023 with a movie adaptation. While the film fell short of initial box office predictions, here's hoping its new streaming home can reignite the potential for a sequel.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will stream on Netflix from Feb. 26. The movie features an all-star cast, including Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Regé-Jean Page, and a surprise cameo from Bradley Cooper. We live in an age of countless amazing fictional universes, as well as the inevitable debates between the assorted fandoms: which characters from one universe could beat up the best and brightest from the other? Sometimes, even famous actors get in on the fun, such as when Oscar Isaac reckoned his Moon Knight from the eponymous Marvel Cinematic Universe show would likely beat his Miguel "Spider-Man 2099" O'Hara from "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse."
The various fandoms' supremacy debates are arguably at their most entertaining when the franchises in question are so different that few would even think of comparing the two ... like, say, Marvel's "X-Men" and "Star Trek." Surprisingly enough, the two iconic properties actually crossed streams back in 1996, courtesy of the crossover comic "Star Trek/X-Men." Among many other things you'd expect from such an encounter, the comic reveals just how the X-Men's resident adamantium-laced, knife-knuckled wrecking ball,...

One of the best things about Dungeons & Dragons is the game's vast cosmology – an infinite multiverse that makes for practically unlimited storytelling potential. Over the decades, the various editions of the game have released extensive accounts of many of the worlds throughout that cosmology, where players can set their D&d games and explore. With the future of live-action D&d media on hold since Paramount paused their D&d show plan in 2024, perhaps it's time to go back to the drawing board for more ideas.
Many of D&d's worlds have been detailed in major sourcebooks or even entire box sets over the years, and some have only appeared in classic Dungeons & Dragons adventure modules, but even the smallest of the latter provide plenty of aesthetic and storytelling inspiration for aspiring showrunners and screenwriters. The wide variety in these settings also would allow for plenty of experimentation...

Friends was and will always remain a classic. From Chandler’s awkward yet lovable personality to Ross and Rachel’s on-again-off-again relationship, the show has given us so much to remember. It’s been decades since the last episode aired and yet, every rewatch feels as fresh as ever. What can we say, it’s timeless. Set in the heart of NYC, Friends is all about loyal friendships, adorable relationships, and moments so wholesome you just might cry. Could it Be any more iconic?

A new kind of magic spell is coming to Dungeons & Dragons in 2025, with a possible tease appearing in the recently released Worlds & Realms book. Dungeons & Dragons has big plans for 2025, with a new Monster Manual coming out next month, followed by a new Starter Set featuring its revised Fifth Edition rules and several other books. While most of D&d's focus this year will be on further establishing and strengthening its new ruleset, there's also some new content coming in the form of a "new kind of magic" appearing in one of this year's later releases.
At the end of 2025, Wizards of the Coast will release a pair of books focused on the iconic Forgotten Realms, the best-known of its many campaign settings. The Forgotten Realms Player Guide will provide players with new subclasses, backgrounds, feats, and spells, as well as a "new type of spell" that players can use.

Sabrina Carpenter is one of the most popular music artists working today, and her 2024 was nothing short of extraordinary, resulting in a huge net worth. Carpenter released her album Short n' Sweet in August, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 list. Three of the album's singles — "Espresso," Please Please Please," and "Taste" — spent weeks on the Hot 100 charts. Carpenter also embarked on her first arena tour, released an incredible music video "Taste" that paid homage to cult classic Death Becomes Her, received six Grammy nominations, and debuted her Netflix special, A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter.
While many may think she got famous overnight, Carpenter's success is the result of years of hard work. Carpenter began her career in 2011 with a guest appearance on Law and Order: Svu. Her big break came in 2013 when she was cast on the Disney Channel series Girl Meets World, a spin-off of the beloved 90s show Boy Meets World.

Mike Flanagan recently made a sci-fi splash with his script for "Stowaway," the incredible Kate Siegel-directed closer in V/H/S/Beyond. While their vision of life inside a UFO is startlingly original, one of Flanagan's favorite horror movies may have provided some inspiration: Phoenix Forgotten, a 2017 found footage feature produced by Ridley Scott. The movie offers a tricky blend of fiction and facts about the Phoenix Lights sightings, a real unexplained event witnessed by thousands.
Phoenix Forgotten plays like a sci-fi sister to The Blair Witch Project, with its tale of teen documentarists who vanish while trying to film a close encounter. However, Phoenix Forgotten is more complex, utilizing real news footage and interviews with real Phoenix Lights witnesses, and building a poignant family drama around the fictional main characters. Every edition of Dungeons & Dragons comes with its associated setting, and the new 2024 printing of the Dungeon Master's Guide is no exception. Although it was introduced during the first edition's reign, the Forgotten Realms setting has become near-ubiquitous in recent years. It was featured as the flagship setting in both 4 and 5e, and it only became more popular with its recent inclusion in Baldur's Gate 3.
But the new printing returns to Greyhawk, one of the original settings designed for DnD, and a far cry from the Forgotten Realms in every conceivable way. In doing so, it expands on much of the original lore while keeping its core conceit intact. But it does so while avoiding a major misstep that previous official DnD settings (and RPG settings in general) have historically been prone to, in a way that elevates it above previous editions of Forgotten Realms.

If there’s any genre in film that it’s easy to be a snob about, it’s horror.
I try really hard not to be, but it’s a challenge.
With decades of incredible films shaping my expectations, it’s sometimes difficult to love new movies in this niche.

But over time, it got more and more difficult to find horror films that could truly rattle me.
And yet … I curated this list because 2024 has blown me away with its horror offerings.

When it comes to Halloween, nobody does it quite like Dracula, Frankenstein, or the Wolf Man.
Sure, we’ve got modern monsters and endless reboots, but if you’re asking me, the Og Universal Monsters are still the ultimate icons of Halloween horror.
And I mean the real classics — Bela Lugosi’s hypnotic Dracula, Boris Karloff’s unforgettable Frankenstein, and Lon Chaney Jr.’s tortured Wolf Man.
(Universal Pictures/Screenshot)
These films didn’t just scare; they enchanted.
There’s a reason I’ll take Lugosi’s rich accent over any sleek modern vampire — it’s the way he commanded a scene, using just his voice and presence to send chills down your spine.

The show that turned a simple road rage incident into a full-blown war is back with fresh faces, new grudges, and a whole new setting.

(Andrew Cooper/Netflix)
With new characters and even wilder twists, this next chapter promises to crank up the chaos even higher while keeping the sharp humor and tension that made the first season unforgettable.
Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming up on Beef Season 2!

I hate to say it, but Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 5 did not, in fact, make my heart explode.
There was nothing inherently wrong with the episode, and it works fine as filler content for a show that just won’t stop.
Despite the potential for massive shakeups, which were hinted at in the promo, the hour was just sort of lackluster.
(Disney/Anne Marie Fox) Yearning for the Grey’s Anatomy of Yesteryear
You can call me a lot of things, but a Grey’s Anatomy hater is not one of them.
That isn’t going to stop me from calling out wasted potential when I see it, though.
Let me put it this way: if this were, say, 2010, this episode would have gone very, very differently.

It’s still not Young Sheldon, and it can’t be, but Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 1 Episode 2 was a lot closer to what I’ve been missing.
Maybe it was the Missy subplot or Georgie talking to George’s grave, but the second installment of this new spinoff felt a lot more familiar and comfortable.
I still think live laughter diminishes rather than enhances the show, especially when the audience laughs at more serious material, but we can’t have everything.
(CBS/Robert Voes) Georgie & Mandy’s Second Episode Was More Serious
I love it when a comedy can make me laugh and cry in the same episode.
All the great classic comedies, like All in The Family and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, did that. So did Young Sheldon.

Some 17 years ago, viewers were both maddened and mesmerized by the tactile fever dream that was M, a cornucopia of sound and motion that is, for the moment, Lee Myung-se's last feature-length testament to the cinema medium he so adores. Though it doesn't quite qualify as a full feature return, Lee is back on stage presenting the richly cinematic four-part anthology film The Killers. Lee spearheaded this project as a creative producer and directed its final segment. Also in the formidable directing roster are Kim Jong-kwan (The Table), Roh Deok (Very Ordinary Couple) and Chang Hang-joon (Forgotten). The film essentially features four adaptions of Ernest Hemingway's famous 1927 short story of the same name, in which two hitmen enter a small town diner one...

Forrest Gump's Jenny is one of the most iconic characters of her era. The way her name is said by the titular character has become one of the most memorable parts of the movie. Jenny is played by Robin Wright in the film, who later marries Tom Hanks' Forrest after they fall in love in adulthood. In the film, Jenny and Forrest have a child together, but Jenny tragically dies at the age of 32.
Both Jenny and Forrest also have younger counterparts in the film, which shows the pair when they are growing up. Young Forrest is played by Michael Conner Humphreys, who did very little acting after appearing in Forrest Gump. Young Jenny, on the other hand, was played by Hanna Hall. Hall's role in Forrest Gump and later career is worth exploring in more detail.

The following contains spoilers for Agatha All Along, Episode 4, "If I Can't Reach You, Let My Song Teach You," now streaming on Disney+.
Agatha All Along has seen Kathryn Hahn return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Agatha Harkness, the witch who was introduced in WandaVision as the owner of the Darkhold. This legendary tome of dark magic was one of several copies in the MCU, based on engravings made by the demon Chthon on the walls of a tomb atop Mount Wundagore. It was from the Darkhold that Agatha had learned of the Scarlet Witch and Chaos Magic, leading her to attempt to take Wanda Maximoff's power from her in Westview. The following contains massive spoilers for Found Season 2, Episode 1, "Missing While Bait," which debuted Thursday, October 3 on NBC.
NBC's Found has faced an interesting challenge. It was one of the few scripted shows to debut in Fall 2023, when the WGA and Sga-aftra strikes were in full swing. That meant that while there was nothing on the air for Found to compete with, there was also nothing that might bring additional viewers to the show. It had to stand completely on its own -- and the Season 2 premiere indicates the show is still capable of doing that.
Found is centered around Gabi Mosely and her crisis management firm, which prioritizes finding missing people that the police and the media might otherwise ignore. Just one of the show's twists is that Gabi herself was one of those people. In Season 1, Episode 13, "Missing While Forgotten," she revealed the secret that viewers had known...

It's an understatement to say that Ken Russell made distinctly twisted, controversial films, infusing new meaning into the term "unpredictable." Sure, this brand of filmmaking is a bit of an acquired taste, but it has merit no less, as his experimental, no-holds-barred approach led to some truly unique cinematic experiences. Apart from his rather mainstream (and brilliant) "Women in Love," Russell made fictionalized retellings of real events, such as his "Gothic," which expands upon the Shelleys visiting Lord Byron in Villa Diodati within a jarring horror framework. More controversial works include "The Devils," and Russell's 1980 sci-fi horror feature "Altered States," itself a psychedelic-adjacent trip into a bizarre, delirious labyrinth about identity and altered states of consciousness.
Two mega-popular actors made their acting debut in "Altered States:" William Hurt, who plays leading man Eddie Jessup, and Drew Barrymore, who plays Eddie's younger daughter, Margaret Jessup. Barrymore was only five when she starred in Russell's film,...

Elminster's importance in Dungeons & Dragons lore is undeniable, with deep roots in the franchise's history. A possible spinoff featuring Elminster could explore his character development and unique relationship with the gods. Honor Among Thieves set the stage for a potential Elminster spinoff by hinting at his legendary status and possible resurrection.
Out of all the characters in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, none feels better suited for a spinoff than Elminister. In the movie, it was confirmed that the classic D&d hero is the ancestor of Simon, one of the main characters in the Honor Among Thieves cast. Introduced in the film as the legendary wizard whose reputation Simon can't live up to, Elminster held a small role in the live-action Dungeons & Dragons movie, with David Durham playing the character.

Normally, an albatross around all our necks would be an obstacle holding us back. In the case of Linkito, the obstacles—at heart, figuring out how to connect wires to operate various machines as with an old-school RadioShack Science Fair Electronic Project Kit—instead lift players out of an alternative 1951’s retro-futuristic dystopia, delivering them from the low-tech Forgotten Lands and into the halls the prestigious Albatross Tech.
With its unique and beautiful-to-look at design, Linkito stands apart from similar story-driven logic puzzlers from Zachtronics and Tomorrow Corporation. However cluttered the workspaces may be, the contraptions strewn across them are easy to grasp and operate, and pulling wires from yellow outputs to blue inputs is more satisfying than a cryptic game of connect the dots has any right to be. N*de scenes in Hollywood are nothing new. While some are okay with baring their bodies for the screen, all a part of the art, some show hesitancy on the matter. And actor Jim Caviezel, who is most famous for the movie The Passion of the Christ and the show, Person of Interest, is in the latter group of people.

Let’s dream the crow black dream. I’m Niki Minter and this week on the Eric Draven files, we have The Crow: Stairway to Heaven. This is the first time we have a series that I feel lukewarm about. However, this is one that does have its fans and there’s a reason, aside from the upcoming reimagining, that we’re discussing it. This should be a fun time.
Okay, so, I caught Stairway on the Sci-Fi channel a few times here and there during its initial run. It caught my interest but never enough to start it from the beginning. What’s interesting about this is that it’s based on the 1994 movie adaptation which was pulled from James O’Barr’s original comic. Mark Dacascos would be the one and only person ever to fill the role once held by Brandon Lee. This is an interesting take, right?...

No game wants to go down the hill and developers do try their best to keep it a joyful experience for the gamers. Baldur’s Gate 3 is among those games and it certainly has one of the longest early access periods in history. Though it was scheduled for September 2020, a bit of delay finally saw the early access release in the following month.

Greyhawk will be featured in the upcoming 2024 version of the Dungeon Master's Guide. New maps and a selection of details about the setting support Greyhawk adventure. Greyhawk isn't getting a new campaign book, but one could always be on the horizon.
Greyhawk is finally going to get its due again in Dungeons & Dragons, but there's still a reason why its upcoming reappearance might not be everything that it could be. As the first campaign setting ever published for DnD, Greyhawk offers a rich world that has served up many classic adventures and memorable locations. Unfortunately, it's been largely sidelined in fifth edition DnD, with the focus turning to the equally deserving Forgotten Realms.

In video game development, innovation takes time, and inspiration often comes from various sources. Sometimes, it takes developers years of hard work and dedication for a particular feature to find its way into a beloved franchise.
Such was the case with Todd Howard’s Skyrim, where a feature similar to what is found in FromSoftware’s titles took over a decade to finally be added. It was a massive undertaking for the creator to integrate this element as the available assets were limited. It tested the patience and dedication of the developers.

George Clooney has been in the movie business for over a few years. Through his lengthy career, he has experienced the entire spectrum of success. He has had some massive box-office hits and has been a part of high-profile bombs. The most well-known blunder of his career has to be his 1997 film, Batman and Robin.
George Clooney as Batman
There were many reasons why the movie failed. Its inability to take on a serious tone, the joke-like appearances of beloved characters, and its writing, were just a few reasons why the movie was completely shredded by critics. It is safe to assume that after this very public failure, Clooney needed a break and needed to work on a good film.
That was when Steven Soderbergh’s Out of Sight entered the picture. It would seem that the atmosphere this movie provided was exactly what Clooney needed after the DC film’s failure.

Attack on Titan had a glorious conclusion, with Eren Jaegar dying at the hands of Mikasa Ackerman. During the last decade, Hajime Isayama has created one of the greatest anime ever, gifting the fans one plot twist after another. Since the day Eren’s mother died due to the Colossal Titan and Armour Titan’s rampage, the greatest anti-hero of the modern generation was born.
The conclusion revealed that all of it was pre-planned by the protagonist himself since he had foresight from the Founding Titan. But the mangaka had a different say when asked about a certain incident in Eren’s life. Prior to his gig on "Star Trek" in 1966, actor DeForest Kelley spent 20 years traversing the wild and hoary world of episodic television and appearing in supporting roles in little-regarded feature films. His first professional screen acting job was a one-off performance in the one-season 1947 TV series "Public Prosecutor." The series holds the distinction of being the first-ever mainstream televised series to be released on film, instead of being broadcast live, which was standard at the time.
Between that show and "Star Trek," Kelley appeared on over 80 TV shows, often just in single episodes, but sometimes returning for two or three. He also had bit roles in films like "Variety Girl," "The Men," "Taxi," and "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral," playing Morgan Earp. He was just a hardworking character actor, taking the jobs that were offered him. There is an integrity to that approach.
