I have to say that I enjoyed Killing Eve much more than I expected to. It's about a very smart and bored MI5 security officer named Eve (Sandra Oh) who is given the job to hunt down psychopathic assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer). As they go head to head they end up obsessed with each other. Jodie Comer gives a breakout performance here. This show made her to be a A-list actress and one of the most sought after actresses working today. I can't say enough about how great of an actress she is. She's also one of the most beautiful celebrities in the world. If you're looking for an entertaining and fun show to binge then give this a try. A little warning though, while the show is great overall, it literally might have the worst ending in the history of television. It's still worth watching though.

Season 3_ A tasteless farce with a rating of 4
cjonesas28 June 2020
It takes a lot of creativity to destroy a wonderful show like Killing Eve in its third season.
Even if the writers and producers would have wanted to do that on purpose, I doubt that they could have been more successful.
What started as a super interesting and intense show on its first season quickly went off the rail with its second one, but was nonetheless still interesting, watchable and relatable.
With the season 3, we have a farce and shadow of a show where through its 8 episodes, we see basically nothing of interest and contributing to the real story, besides fillers after fillers, joke acting from all of the actors, thinking that playing crazy, looking intensely with tears in the eyes or with round eyes and gaping mouths would make up for the ultra-bad storyline and plot and create some award-worthy and memorable scenes. Even Kim Bodnia was wasted in this season.
When a fan of Killing Eve, criticizes the season so harshly, then you have a pretty good idea what non-fans would do.
Stop titling it Killing Eve, make another season named Villanelle (novel) _part 4_ or whatever alike and put it on the shelves of ruined opportunities for good.

Jodie Comer is the best actress on TV!
Supermanfan-139 June 2020
Killing Eve manages to be funny, smart and thrilling all at the same time. This show is absolutely deserving of all the award nominations it's gotten. While all the acting is fantastic, Jodie Comer is the best thing to happen to tv in a long time (and the hottest)!
For me it's just three seasons
Abdus949 April 2022
I loved this show when I first watched it, but now after watching the final season I can't say the same.
The finale it ruined all the good parts about the show, the show used to be really good with great execution and with lots of fun and twists which was really exciting and thrilling to watch.
I think show was ruined because they changed/removed some good writers after season 2 like for example 'Phoebe Waller bridge', she really shaped up the first two seasons but the show started to lose it's spirit in season 3 although it was also somewhat good when compared with the previous seasons.
So if anyone who wants to try this show I really recommend not to watch the last season.

Acting and Directing are good, but writing...
nakrugt31 August 2022
Acting and directing are good, but writing is childish at best. Comer and Oh and the whole cast is great. Directing is, I think, good. Editing is surprisingly sufficient.
However, the writing, especially the deaths of all characters are childish, poorly written. I mean, if somebody told you they will kill you, how would you react? If you react like the characters in this show, I am surprised how you are still alive, surviving daily conflicts.
Character development is non-existent? Eve has some sort of character arc. Oksana does not. Neither does Konstantin. And Catryn is unnecessarily vaguely written.
One more thing: a 40-kg 170-cm person (man or woman) cannot tackle, wrestle or efficiently fight a 100-kg 200-cm person with high muscle mass. It does not work like that in real life. Writers - all writers - need to get some fighting class.

Grossly overrated and highly unoriginal

A promising beginning quickly falls apart thanks to some atrocious plot development, pretentious contrived characters (not least the poorly developed Villanelle) and a seemingly endless array of scenes where people point guns at each other with no apparent plan.
Very addictive
TheLittleSongbird14 February 2023
'Killing Eve' was very highly recommended by close friends and family (most with very similar taste to me), and the way it was advertised was so attention grabbing with the real potential to be binge watch worthy. Decided to watch it during lockdown when looking for new shows to get into and binge watch, and hopefully something consistently compelling and not one of those "not sure whether to continue" sort of shows (which has been known to happen).
For the first two seasons, 'Killing Eve' was hugely compelling and compulsive viewing and very quickly became one of the most addictive shows watched during lockdown. Had not been as addicted to a show since 'Gilmore Girls' and Showtimes' 'The Borgias' the previous year. Did enjoy Season 3 more than most, despite it being not being anywhere near as good as the previous two. Do agree that Season 4 was a massive disappointment, especially the final episode.
Starting with the positives, the acting was consistently good to wonderful even in the show's decline. Especially from the revelation that is Jodie Comer, incredibly chilling and showing real chameleon-like versatility as one of the most fascinating characters of any show in recent years. Sandra Oh shouldn't be overlooked though, she is commanding and committed and shows no signs of being taxed. She and Comer have wonderful chemistry together, sizzling at its best. Kim Bodnia steals every scene he's in and Fiona Shaw, one of the better things about Season 3, brings nuanced authority to her role. Adrian Scarborough and Harriet Walter make memorable contributions.
It is a very slick and stylish looking show, loved the thriller film like photography. The music is suitably haunting. The writing at its best was full of intrigue and entertained, chilled and moved. The storylines were extremely compelling and clever in the first half of 'Killing Eve's' run, especially in the excellent first season, with some great suspense, genuine creepiness and unexpected turns.
The characters were interesting, with Villanelle being an unforgettable creation.
As said however, Season 4 was a massive disappointment and felt like a different show. Gone was the suspense, creepiness and intriguing intricacy and was instead replaced by complete nonsense, repetition and convolution as well as a very rushed pace. Anybody that found any of the storytelling in Season 3 muddled and silly (and there were times where it was both) will find that season coherent and subtle in comparison. Also found the writing over the top in some places and phoned in run out of ideas like in others.
Particularly guilty of this is the understandably universally panned finale, which is for me the worst show finale since the US 'House of Cards'. Much too rushed, very anti-climactic and made no sense and even the cast seemed at sea.
Overall, really enjoyed 'Killing Eve' and found it really addictive but it is so unfortunate and anger inducing that a show that started off so great ended as badly as it did. 8/10.

Killing Eve: A Satisfying, Oddly Hilarious Thriller

WOW! Wow, wow, wow! You guys are definitely going to want to give this show a try! It's so intriguing, refreshing, engaging, and oddly / darkly humorous. This series shows a lot of promise and I really hope it stays on this track, because if it does, it will definitely become a favorite.
Now that we have my initial impressions out of the way, here's what I will say:
I am so impressed with this show. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting to like it, but, boy, does this first episode impress. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Something about this show has me oddly hooked Something about it leaves me wanting MORE! I love the music choices, the acting is superb, and so is the directing. All excellent.
Another thing: this show has some odd sense of humor and I LOVE it! I found myself laughing, and that was the last thing I expected.
Several times, I thought to myself: OMG why am I laughing at this right now? I'm a terrible human being!
Perhaps the best part of this is show's cast is seeing that Sandra Oh finally got the role she deserves. She kills all of her scenes -- just like everyone else -- but it's clear to see she sticks out from the rest of the cast. -I was so happy when she appeared on one my most favorite shows last year, "American Crime," but her appearance was less than a guest appearance. (I bet that was due to the budget cuts and reduced season length, which ultimately led to season 3's different set up that many hated but I personally loved.) For that reason, though, I was disappointed in not seeing her as much, but she still amazed me and did so great with Regina King. I've been missing "American Crime" so much, and I think this show can fill that void in some aspects. Oh is just amazing.
Speaking of Oh, I started watching this solely because she's in it. And I am so pleased it's actually an awesome show.
I'll surely be sticking around for this one. I'm even happier to know that there will be a season 2 because I'm interested in seeing where this is going.
I give "Killing Eve" an 8.5/10.

Lame and Cringe
ValterVoghen19 August 2022
This show has so many plot holes, some "that would never happen" events that became impossible to keep watching. The Berlin club scene was so lame and cringe. Too bad, it could be good, but insulting the audience intelligence is never a good thing.
Psych Thriller
tgp021016 April 2018
I love the show. INTRIGUING! Someone wrote that this was sloppy writing because there is no background on the characters. That's not true, if you pay attention you have everything you need. Eve is a MI5 investigator but she longs for more in her life, something trilling and something that gets her heart thumping. She secretly loves psychopaths, she wants to know how they work and why. It's a hobby of hers.
Villanelle is the psychopath. She has sociopathic tendencies. She mimics emotions because she has no empathy and we see her continuing to adapt to her surroundings (smiling with the child in the ice cream shop, laughing like the lady on the radio). That's what is odd and interesting about her character. Her drive is to kill people because she easily becomes bored with every day mundane tasks. They will become each others next obsession!
10 stars until the last season
edwardeggers15 April 2022
This was one of the best shows of all time. It had it all. Action, mystery, suspense, a dash of gore , thrills, and the perfect amount of comedy. Seasons one, two, and most of three were superb. Then came along season 4. It started off o.k.ish
Then turned into a dumpster fire. The acting is always top notch. The writing got worse and worse. The directing went off the rails. It's like they wanted to leave out all the good stuff and turn it into some mushy romcom. It was bad. It had a few good moments but that last season was ugh!! Would of been a perfect 10 for this show but season four took it to an 8.
Villanelle is amazing
gphgrm0119 April 2019
Intriguing show, with certain flows. The character of the professional killer is absolutely stunning. Fabulous performance. The best female villain I have ever seen. You should just forget about the story plot, and just watch her face, her movement and her interractions with people. The best female-antiheroine capable of doing anything. Although she is a villain, she is fascinating.
As for Eve, not such a brilliant situation. We all know Sandra Oh from Grey's Anatomy where she played a weird emotionless brilliant surgeon. However, here Eve was made too soft, too homey, too wifey, too naive for my taste. And her acting is far more boring.
Otherwise, the cast is great scenery is great, and I appreciate that Moscow was not shown as a poor dump, but a place where rich and powerful people live as well, with luxurious places to go, etc, which is really closer to the truth nowadays.

Jodie Comer carries the whole show alone
interestingstuff4 July 2022
The show has an average rating of 8 but at least 3 of those points are because of Jodie Comer alone because she literally carries the show all by herself. If it wasn't for her the show's rating would have been much lower.
The first season is pretty good. I'd give it a solid 8/10. Some episodes in the first season are even worth 9/10, mostly because of Jodie Comer and her character.
The show loses much of its focus starting season 2 but it's still a decent season with a lot of good moments and several good episodes. I'd rate the second season 7/10.
The third season is where the show starts going downhill and even Jodie's excellent acting isn't able to save it. The story is all over the place, difficult to follow and plain confusing not to mention most episodes in this season are plain boring. I'd rate the third season 5/10.
Fourth season is plain terrible. Don't even bother watching it. It's like a completely different show. I won't even dignify the fourth season by giving it a rating.

What is the hype about...?
mcoats-7110113 July 2022
Not sure why people rate things so highly - like 9 or 10 for this awfully acted, all too obvious Dexter rehash but with a vampy female killer and dogged female investigator. Seeing the theme here? I get that they're trying to be more diverse which I applaud but they've done it in such a 2D, stereotypical way it just doesn't empower women at all and the storyline is so tired at this point. It's just a series we've all seen before but with a slight tweak. I didn't finish series 1.
Started very promising, became the silliest tv show
carolrmag2 June 2018
I got really engaged in the first couple of episodes, thinking it was the beginning of a very good TV Show.
People must stop reviewing Tv shows after seeing the first episode! It completely ruins the ratings!
Got less exited after around the 3rd episode and lost will to see any more of this silliness after the 5th. Did make myself see the full season (maybe it would turn again).
It didn't. And, being a psychologist with some experience into psychopaths it shocks me the lack of research made to make Jodie Corner's character. It is appalling really. A joke of a portrayal. Really sad to see
Always special.
ahmedgorshy23 October 2020
Always special.
I have watched this series for three seasons so far, and I am disappointed so far. The series is exceptional and funny sometimes and the music is perfect. Everything is great. I do not need a long review. I hope that the next season will be better or at least keep its level.
Really good show until the last episode
Havocworm0917 July 2022
This show is really great. Season 1 is perfect and season 2 is also great. They are both well written and acted. Season 3 is not as good but still really enjoyable. The writing is not as good but the acting is still phenomenal. Season 4 starts off alright. The writing is not as good as the others but I still find some enjoyment in it. Then the ending happens and it is just terrible. It ruins the rest of the season. Seriously it is probably one of the worst endings I have ever seen. If you do want to watch this show please only watch the first 3 and skip the forth. It will be a much better experience.
Jodie Comer is crazy good

Series 2 - Loses the Plot (What plot?)
crumpytv23 October 2020
As the series progressed the novelty factor from the first series wore off.
By the end it was just a totally illogical mish-mash to fuel the gratuities killings.
Jodie Comer is amazing, but I am sure here talents can be put to better use.
Overrated and overdone British series.
m-4782611 January 2020
I had my suspicions about this show. But I needed to check it for myself, mostly for Sandra Oh. And she's pretty much Christina Yang where we left her. Same attitude, and mimics. But the biggest let down for me, were those things people praise the most about the show. The dynamic between Eve and that parody of a « hitman ». Played by the most lifeless actress I've ever seen. As well as the awfully predictable, cliché and failing at being off beat, writing. Were what made me hate the series the most. And what's with the weird fetish for everything under the waist? We even see the heroine taking a dump, at one point. How fearless of them... I also hated that damn habit of trying to understand and make you feel for the « bad guy ». It prevented me from getting into the « action », or lack there of. I finished season 1 in one night, but only because I did not want to waste too much time on the this show. And I was doing other things at the same time. I doubt I'll be watching the rest of the series, anytime soon. And I though The Fall was a lot better than this girly, yet plain version of cat and mouse Thriller.
First season almost till end very good.
tfrychu20 May 2022
Later chaotic, without even pretending to have any respect for viewers intelligence. It's becoming more and more stupid. I managed to watch till beginning season three.
One of the most idiotic TV series I ever watched. 3 stars are because actors are good.

Unbelievable.
wisewebwoman13 July 2021
I got suckered into watching this again due to friends' raving. And gave up again.
Sandra Oh is one of the worst actors ever and her character suspends disbelief. She runs the gamut of emotions from A to B. And I cringe every time she's on screen waiting for bafflement (what the hell, she's an agent) or tears and screaming (you'd think her job would have toughened her up)
Fiona Shaw is brilliant but sadly she has a simplistic script to work with.
Great premise destroyed by poor writing and the cast's weakest link, S. O With plot holes you could throw a basketball through.
Jodi Comer is amazing but this whole mess is too heavy for her to carry.

The Extended Fantasy
grnwltr-112123 January 2023
Killing Eve is an exceptionally well-made fantasy that treads ground similar to the series Alex Rider and Slow Horses. It perpetuates the myth that the British espionage services are viable players on the world stage. To watch and enjoy, one must suspend disbelief (which is necessary with most films and television that rely on the fantastical as a driving force). The acting is first rate, from the leads Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer to the supporting players populating the periphery (although, as is customary with much British drama, these ancillary characters are barely fleshed out). As my 9 rating indicates, the series is woth watching.
