Gross but good
noahneberry23 August 2018
If you look past all of the annoying gross fart and poop jokes that are on constantly it's not that bad every season they Change up the setting and are even more creatives than the last and some episodes are suprisingly emotional. The animation isn't to bad either. Sometimes they make parodies of other famous movies like avengers, avatar, power rangers and even frozen I would suggest this show but it is definitely not for everyone

Quirky and slightly menacing!
sattwell19 October 2019
come on people if you are going to write a review let's have some substance.

This show is like nothing I have seen before, it's completely off the wall and that's what I love about it! The storylines are daft and funny ...let's remember this is aimed at children...and as a mother of two boys, farts, poo and snot rank pretty highly in the funny stakes!

The characters are imaginative and fantastically odd which adds to the whole tone of the series. Fast and action packed, and at times brutal...much like life. But no more brutal than Tom & Jerry or Bugs bunny...

The animation is perfect for the style and tone of this series, quirky and slightly menacing.

This is nothing short of a masterpiece!

Brutally hilarious... creative and super-duper fun!
cheeftanz6 February 2018
This is quite simply the most wonderfully creative short cartoon series I have ever seen. Shaun the Sheep is beyond great, older Bugs Bunny cartoons are simply sublime perfection, but these Larva shorts are only a few minutes of splendor yet completely different and a unique feast. The entire room erupts in laughter when we put these on the TV. Treat yourselves and get hooked! I am so surprised there are not more reviews on IMDB, this is timeless fun.

This show is so bad honestly who made this and was like "wow this is so funny lets make it a tv show." If you watch this show you'll probably have to bleach your eyes. I think i'd rather stare at the sun than watch this.

Not The Kind Of Cartoon For Me.
Dawalk-111 November 2017
Firstly, I didn't know that this is another one of those foreign cartoons (particularly from South Korea) until I read about it on its Wikipedia page. I also didn't know this premiered in the U.S. on Netflix. I came across this series when it was featured on the latest edition of Wonderama, which seems to have stopped showing it thankfully, as I haven't seen it being shown in the last, recent episodes. Had it still been shown, I would've changed the channel to something else and changed back when whatever short ended.

Anyway, I'm not really big on any of the sick humor cartoons like this, so I don't go out of my way to search for and watch them. If I do, it's rarely and by chance. And Larva is more of the same that falls exactly into that vein. What else is new? This series revolves around these two larvae generically named after the colors they are, Red and Yellow. There's no dialogue, just the two grubs making unintelligible sounds, like grunting and moaning, so it's action-driven. The comedy that occurs is gross-out and sick, such as in one short, Yellow breaks wind and the gas explosion is so strong it causes birds to drop out of the sky. Another is Yellow using his mucus to stretch, reach for, and grab things, since neither he nor Red have any arms/hands (although Yellow did eventually grow a pair of each of those in a short in which he was playing the bongos with his head). I saw only a few of these and I think there are like over 200, but I have no desire to see more. It's just more mindless dreck that seemingly continues to dominate in the animation world. As for the CGI animation, it seemed alright to me, but I can't say much more than that, as I'm not quite good enough to tell the differences in quality among CGI-animated materials, let alone what past year they could've been rather than the current one. I can't recall much of the music featured in this, it isn't all that memorable enough to me, maybe other than that rhythmic, percussive playing in that bongos episode. As for the two main characters themselves, Red is the smarter of the two, whereas Yellow is goofy. There isn't much meaning to this series, it's nothing all that special. For those who aren't into this sort of thing like me, I say skip it. It's truly too childish or kiddie for anyone outside of the toddler to preteen demographic to enjoy (although there may still be some exceptions, despite that). An example of why some, certain adults are so negative and close-minded towards all cartoons in general, because of junk like this. It's a shame and horse-feathers that imports like this get more attention when, say, the majority of the literary-based Nippon anime series in World Masterpiece Theater has never been brought to home media release, at least with English subtitles in the U.S., let alone receive an English dub (preferably flawless). What the horse-feathers is up with that mess? Anyway, not recommended. Find it to be a mind-numbing waste of time.

The animation is certainly great
ericstevenson6 February 2019
This is a cartoon from South Korea that tells the story of these two well, larva that go on all sorts of wacky adventures. I rarely see all CGI cartoons. They were originally featured on MondoMedia, but I think they're elsewhere now. I admit that the cartoon can get dumb sometimes. We don't need that many fart jokes. It's still quite creative.

We do get a growing cast of characters and even some story arcs! It's hard when an episode is only a few minutes long. Still, there's so many of them that it doesn't feel that way! I always want to look at animation and movies from other countries. I love how the slapstick keeps going on. They accomplish a lot in the short time of their episodes. ***1/2

Just not good
momcilo-korea12 February 2019
I am living in South Korea and this is very popular cartoon here. For what reasons I will never know. Things that happen are not funny in any way and Koreans are obsessed with feces, boogers, nose hairs, farts and other bodily fluids. They find it for some reason - funny. There is a complete episode where one larva is trying to put a booger is other's larva mouth. Another culture is my best guess...not gonna prone into that one. They have over 200 episodes with unlikable characters and one music tune. Stick with Bugs Bunny where comedy and timing is perfect and not this mess.

Absolutely Hilarious
mrhockeyluke-67-65087116 September 2020
I don't usually write reviews, but this show is so absolutely bizarre, absurd and hilarious. The slapstick comedy reminds me of old tom and Jerry or looney toons but amplified to a higher degree of craziness.

Bizarre and Disturbing
minoritizedifunny10 July 2018
Lots of very subtle sexual innuendos, there's an episode where a moquito sucks the blood out of one of the larvae and that's a plot point, it's a gross and bizarre animated atrocity. I'd rather stick my child with Tom and Jerry or another violent cartoon- I'm fine with violent cartoons, but this revolting mess is something you as a parent or guardian have to see for yourself. It's genuinely disturbing the stuff that happens in some of these episodes. The "humor" is sometimes very sick and depraved, like a character's bodily fluids getting sucked from them alive through a straw (a totally separate scenario than the mosquito). Please, PLEASE watch a few episodes before you let your kids watch it.

Larva is best cartoon for freetime!
iggplengp10 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Larva is a kid's cartoon that I think people of all ages can watch. And there is fun that is easy to reach people and not boring because there are many episodes or seasons to choose from, with the main characters having 2 red worms and yellow worms and other friends such as beetles The story tells about the daily lives of these insects, and what I like about this story is that we can go in and see it without thinking too much. Mainly focusing on entertainment. No need to compose the story because it will only end in one episode. Another thing that I like very much is that there are special episodes, such as special episodes where the insects have special powers and can transform into Marvel, which comes out more like a caricature because there is a funny or a change in the external costume referring to It comes from blockbuster movies like Marvel or Thor, or the story of friendship between friends that even though they quarreled, they helped each other in times of trouble. But the thing that I don't like about this story is not the characters or the story, but the TV show which is quite rare to see if it's not on the Internet. Causing if there is no internet, it will be difficult to watch. In addition to me like the story of the animation, I also had the opportunity to play a game based on this animation. In UNIT mode, there will be a way to play. Players must purchase various characters to allow those characters to fight. To destroy the enemy's base Once the enemy's base has been destroyed Player will win And the game will unlock the next level. As for the HERO mode, the player will control the hero while playing. And players will be able to use the special skills of heroes in battle. And can also buy characters to help the hero in battle as well. Or will it be a PVP mode, there will be a way to play, that is, it will be players versus players against each other, I say that this mode is fun and it's very fun, if you try to play this mode, you will be hooked. Shops in each mode will be different. Which in most stores It will open the opportunity for players to upgrade their character. Or buy additional items within the game players can arrange characters to be played on different levels. Which, as the player continues to play, the player will encounter more difficult levels which will increase the fun and takes it to the next level. The top-up money in this game. Players can fill up. Which players will be able to top up the game at a great price But if the player does not want to fill the game or a free line Players can also play games to get various items as well or watch videos to get items within the game as well. I can say with a full mouth that This game is very fun. So I introduced it to everyone to try and play. Let me tell you that if you try to play, you will be addicted.

Terrible, Low quality show
BmdZero4 September 2019
This show is awful. So here's 3 bad things about this show.

1. Animation The animation is the worst I have ever seen. It's worse than Foodfight. The characters are ugly and deformed. Even Thomas the Tank engine bootleg toys look better than these characters.

2. Sounds and Music/Theme The music is awful. The sounds are so annoying. They will play a fart sound all the time because the Larva bugs will have a bathroom joke EVERY FIVE MINUTES.

3 The Bathroom humor And this is the reason why I hate the show so much, The Bathroom Jokes and Humor. The jokes are too offensive. I know cartoons like, Ren and Stimpy, Spongebob, Loud house and stuff use it, but Larva uses it too much. They use it every five minutes.

And that's why I hate this show so much. If you like this show, Opinion Respected.
