Sex & Nudity

  • A man and woman are seen naked in bed together, after implied sex. After being awoken, the man emerges from the bed and the side of his buttocks are shown. There are at least three scenes showing this couple in bed.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is shot through the neck and blood briefly sprays from this area. Afterwards, wee see a close-up of the injury spurting blood.
  • Three people attempt to assault a woman, but this act is intervened. One is shot, another beaten.
  • Various beatings and shootings happen throughout the film, usually with limited blood although some are very bloody.
  • A soldier is struck in the head by a bladed weapon flung form an aborigine. He falls off of his horse and lays on the ground breathing faintly. A bloody gash is on his forehead. The aborigine walks up and finishes the job striking him once more .
  • A sheriff punches a preacher to the ground and then begins kicking him savagely.
  • A man beats his aborigine farmhand with a belt.

Profanity

  • The F-word is used 40 times, as well as more moderate terms such as bastard and shit. Racial slurs are also occasionally uttered.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some people drink and smoke throughout the film.
  • A man drinks and gets drunk. He then begins threatening those around him in a drunken haze.
  • Many scenes take place in a tavern.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film is very intense and realistic, and has a very upsetting ending. Many people are shot and a woman is raped. Young kids are beaten as well as older people, and the racism against Aboriginals is just upsetting overall. Pretty dark and grim film.
  • The ending is very dark and depressing.

  • A man rapes a woman in a dark room. Nothing is seen, but noises are heard.

Violence & Gore

  • A man attacks an Aboriginal tribe, shooting and killing two. He is then impaled with a spear thrown by a member of the tribe. The body is seen later with some blood.
  • A man is shot through the neck. Very sudden and upsetting. Blood sprays on those around him.
