Family first

I had an amazing time watching this movie. It's witty, funny and very easy to watch. The death of a beloved family member is always a tough experience and can even be traumatic, nontheless, this movie approaches it as the reignition of life, the possibility to heal old wounds, find out new realities and get closer to family members living the same experience. Instead of getting stuck in the complexities of suffering and seeing death as a terminal experience in the lives of everyone around, how about seeing it as something deeply unfortunate, but natural.

This movie shows a sneek peek into mexican culture and the things that are valued most: family and tradition.

Mexican idiosincrasy laughs in the face of tragedy. It's about not taking everything too seriously, it's about approaching life light heartedly and openly, accepting the things that are and trying to change the things that can be changed. It's about solving differences through confrontation and quality time, understanding and acceptance. Family conflicts can take both the best and the worst out of us.

We need comedy, we need to laugh a bit about life's hardships and take the good out of what we can.
