OMG.....is this for real ?
mikenot-258619 April 2020
For the first few minutes I thought that perhaps this was supposed to be some sort of satire on the "end of the world" movies, but no it was n't. It is just .......horrible. Plot, acting, special effects .....all terrible. the only part vaguely original or worth watching is the last 10 minutes or so during the gunfight inside the House of Horror, at least that was different. If you are locked down during the COVID pandemic, with absolutely nothing else to do, nothing else to watch, then turn off your tv rather than watch this.

Acting or screenwriting? What's to blame?

Difficult to say which is more responsible for this abomination. Either way it's so poor it's embarrassing.

The Epitome of a One Star Film
ikcaj12 August 2020
I adore low budget sci-fi and apocalypse flicks are my favorite. I'll put up with a lot of flaws for even a half decent story, so unfortunately when I say this is one star, it really is.

Everything about it is just awful. I mean everything: the script, the acting, the lighting, the sound, the editing, it's all a lesson in how not to make movies.

For example instead of showing us the meteor, they show us a phone that is displaying a news program that is showing a clip of the meteor, but lest we still be able to make out what's going on, they then create static over all of the displays to ensure we can't see anything.

We had to do that, right?

Warning: Spoilers
Meteor, almost the end of the world. A small group in a three-generation bomb shelter converted into a haunted house. Good place for Michael Berryman, right? Wrong, Berryman had a small role in a blue prison top. He never appears like the armed individual on the DVD cover, and neither does anyone else. Now he is locked in a room and forced into cannibalism for you "The Hills have Eyes" fans. Most of the film is three people in a small room with a sad soundtrack and sadder dialogue. This makes for horrible acting with billed stars in minor roles.

I wasn't sure why a meteor explosion causes deadly radioactive fallout. If you have radioactive poisoning, taking a potassium iodide pill afterward does nothing. The iodine is taken before the exposure. Its function is limited. It protects the thyroid gland from accumulating radioactive iodine (just a small short-lived component) by saturating the gland with non-radioactive iodine. Taking the pill afterward is like closing the barn door after the horse is out.

The writing was bad on many levels.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
