7. Pansy Parkinson
For some who adds absolutely no value to the story, Pansy Parkinson has way too many mentions. Her only point is to be the insufferable person whose most notable achievement is trying to surrender Harry to Voldemort in The Deathly Hallows.
Pansy feels like a character that once had a purpose but then was randomly discarded.
6. Rolanda Hooch
Madam Hooch is one of the Hogwarts teachers, but she’s… Useless. She’s only there to give first-year students one lesson but still manages to mess it up: she can neither save a falling kid nor prevent problems in her class. What a waste of salary — even Lockhart had some actual classes and took part in important discussions!
5. Gregory Goyle
Just like his fellow buffoon Crabb, Goyle is Draco Malfoy’s sidekick with zero personality other than being dumb and following orders. But Crabb at least gets to destroy a Horcrux,...

Donald Trump has dismissed recent media reports that say he fell asleep in his ongoing trial about the hush money payments in New York. Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, in a recess in the Manhattan Supreme Court trial to address the claims.
“Contrary to the Fake News Media, I don’t fall asleep during the Crooked D.A.’s Witch Hunt, especially not today,” he wrote.
He continued, “I simply close my beautiful blue eyes, sometimes, listen intensely, and take it All in!!!”
After the post, online critics rushed to social media to mock his praise of his eye color.
Earlier, Trump’s campaign had vehemently criticized multiple reporters, such as Maggie Haberman from The New York Times, who observed Trump seemingly doze off on the first day of jury selection. Throughout the trial, which entered its tenth day on Thursday, there have been several instances...

Hunt Her Kill Her is somewhat of a home invasion thriller but on a grander scale, set in the large landscape of a warehouse rather than the small confines of a traditional home, which adds more opportunity for differences from the traditional home invasion thriller.
Karen is a desperate young mother who has just filed divorce papers on her abusive husband. Forced to take a job as the night shift janitor at a large furniture factory, she is told she will be the only one working at this time. But, after seeing a strange vehicle idling in the parking lot and finding a door to the factory ajar, Karen gets the feeling she might not be alone after all.

Malum is, according to its press release “a bold and expanded reimagining of the 2014 horror cult classic, Last Shift”. Now some may simply take that as a fancy way of saying it’s a remake of a film that’s less than ten years old. But there’s a difference between this and your average remake, it’s the work of the original director Anthony Diblasi and his co-writer Scott Poiley.
I considered revisiting Last Shift before watching Malum because while I remembered the basic plot and that I really liked the first hour then being let down by the final act, I didn’t recall a lot of the details. But, in part due to how knowing what to expect spoiled the impact of another recent reimagining,...

General Hospital (Gh) spoilers hint that Kristina Corinthos-Davis’s (Kate Mansi) spidey senses will be tingling when it comes to Ava Jerome (Maura West).
When Ava first started getting closer to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), fans thought it was interesting; however, due to Ava’s recent unethical actions, viewers can tell she’s up to no good.
Sonny doesn’t seem suspicious, and because most of those who are closest to Corinthos are out of his orbit, no one is really “on to” what Ava is doing.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Kristina are Sonny’s only two adult children who may be able to help him, but as Dante is recovering from his shooting injury, and doesn’t really have the focus or energy to see what’s happening. Will Kristina be the one to “save” her dad from Ava?

Oscar winner Halle Berry has been a part of many activistic campaigns in her career. The Catwoman star had been a vocal supporter of Barrack Obama during his presidential campaign in 2008 and successfully campaigned against the building of a natural gas facility off the coast of Malibu.
The actress has also been actively involved in a campaign to change the narrative on women going through menopause. Berry revealed last year that she was in the middle of a transitional period and mentioned how she wanted to change the image of women going through the phase. A24’s Alex Garland dystopian U.S. movie Civil War is looking at an $18 million-$24 million opening frame when it hits North American theaters over April 12-14.
In this oddball marketplace, ya gotta figure downside as we’re still limping away from the strike. While Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is eyeing a $45M opening this weekend, I hear presales on that title are low. If that Jason Reitman-produced movie is going to hit the mid-$40M range, it really needs a big turnout by Latino moviegoers and walk-ups.
Further boosting projections on Civil War is A24’s grab of Imax screens. The current Rotten Tomatoes critics score on Civil War following its electric SXSW world premiere is 91% fresh.

While Dakota Johnson’s Madame Web brought a new low to the Sony Spider-Man Universe, fans still have the Aaron Taylor-Johnson starrer Kraven The Hunter as well as Tom Hardy’s Venom: The Last Dance to see if the Ssu is worth anything. Fans were not ready for a film to be worse than the meme-worthy Morbius, but Madame Web played to win in that competition.
However, Taylor-Johnson has assured fans that Kraven The Hunter is good and worth exploring in the cinemas. The Bullet Train star mentioned how the film was different from the usual franchise fare that audiences were used to and that he would not have chosen to work on it if the film did not have any potential.

Israel’s Eurovision team have struggled to create a non-political song against the background of strong international feeling over the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.
The Israeli entry for this year’s contest came under intense scrutiny when the lyrics of its original offering October Rain were analysed, and considered too political for the rules set by the determinedly apolitical Contest’s organisers.
Now performer Eden Golan has adapted the song with new lyrics and new title, Hurricane, but The Times of London reports that her team has been challenged in finding the middle way between adhering to Contest rules and keeping the Israeli public happy.
They quote one anonymous team insider saying: “We’ve tried our best to bring a neutral song. We have pressure from the [Israeli] public to write something that speaks the truth. But the world and the Ebu want us not to speak up.”

One never knows what or who is lying out there, that is the essence of a beloved Call of Duty multiplayer game mode. After the poor reception from the community, Modern Warfare 3 players are engaging in a heated debate to bring Prop Hunt into its multiplayer. The game mode was first officially introduced in 2017 in CoD: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered and has since made a place in lockers of players’ hearts.
A player either acts as a prop which can be anything that is part of the game’s environment, or a hunter who’s trying to take blind shots hoping to kill the opponent disguised as an object. Props come with three advantages, a flash, a decoy, and a prop change. The first one is typically the most useful against enemies. Appears like players want to experience it again.

Universal Pictures has been quietly putting together a new "Jurassic World" movie in the background for several months. Even though that movie is now racing towards a release date next summer, it is still in need of a director. Despite reports last week that suggested David Leitch was in talks to helm the next dino blockbuster, those talks have fallen through. The search is now on for someone to fill those shoes, and time is of the essence.
According to Deadline, Leitch and Universal had a mutual parting of ways as they had different visions for the film. The hosts of The View enjoyed the schadenfreude Monday morning by taking the stage to the theme song from The Apprentice.
“We just walked out to The O’Jays ‘For the Love of Money,’ which is the the theme song of The Apprentice, and that’s connected to the fact that you-know-who has to pay money, money, money, money … $83.3 million,” said host Whoopi Goldberg. “And you know, if he had just shut his mouth, he’d been dealing with 5 million dollars. But this is what happens when you’ve got a hard head and a soft behind.”

Donald Trump owes E. Jean Carroll more than $83 million, according to a New York jury.
The 77-year-old former president and current presidential candidate was found liable of defaming and sexually abusing E. Jean in a May 2023 trial. She accused him of rape, a charge that he was not held liable for.
They returned to court after E. Jean accused Donald of making additional defamatory comments in 2019, leading to the latest results.

According to CNN, a jury of seven men and two women handed down their decision after less than three hours of deliberation on Friday (January 26).
In total, Donald has to pay the writer $83.3 million. Of that total, $18.3 million is for compensatory damages due to a hit to her reputation. The remaining $65 million is for punitive damages.
E. Jean was seeking significantly less.
Donald was not present for the decision’s reading.

Updated with Trump response: After just three hours of deliberations, a New York jury today said Donald Trump has to pay E. Jean Carroll more than $83 million in her defamation trial against the former president.

In 2020 – for the first time in seven years – the Best Supporting Actress Oscar category saw a lone nomination, meaning that a film was recognized there and nowhere else. This achievement is attributed to Kathy Bates (“Richard Jewell”), who competed for no major precursors except the Golden Globe but still managed to bump Critics Choice, SAG, and Globe nominee Jennifer Lopez (“Hustlers”). Perhaps unsurprisingly given the length of the streak she broke, there has yet to be a lone contender in any of her category’s subsequent lineups.
Since the introduction of the two gendered supporting Oscars in 1937, there have been 57 female lone nominees and 54 male ones, with over half of the entrants on the former roster having been added before 1977. The one who directly preceded Bates was Helen Hunt, whose inclusion in her lineup was much more heavily predicted. Coincidentally, both women had the perceived advantage of being former Best Actress champions,...

"Hey, get a grip. These things aren't human." Another undead action movie. Netflix has revealed the main official trailer for a Korean post-apocalyptic action movie called Badland Hunters, arriving for streaming later in January. "One last hunt to save us all." Years after Seoul turns into an apocalyptic wasteland, a tough huntsman takes matters into his own hands when a teenager he’s close to is abducted by a mad doctor who conducts experiments on humans. Nam San battles formidable foes in the wilderness with an array of weapons, from bare fists to rifles, with the intense action choreography that is a hallmark of Director Heo Myeong-haeng's stunt work. Don Lee stars as Nam San, with Lee Hee Jun, plus Lee Jun-young as his trusted partner, Choi ji-wan. Alas there's no big 'gator in this trailer, as seen in the first teaser trailer, but this still looks like a good time.

Donald Trump claimed that he was merely doing his “duty” as president by alleging that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen,” therefore believes he deserves “immunity” from prosecution.
“I wasn’t campaigning, the Election was over. I was doing my duty as President to expose and further investigate a Rigged and Stolen Election. It was my obligation to do so, and the proof found is voluminous and irrefutable,” the former president wrote in a Truth Social post Sunday morning. “Therefore, among other reasons, of course I am entitled to Immunity.

The official trailer for Netflix’s The Killer begins with a man (played by Michael Fassbender) explaining that he listens to music to keep his mind from wandering, allowing him to remain focused on the job. The job that requires such intense concentration? Hired assassin.
“After a fateful near-miss, an assassin battles his employers, and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn’t personal,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.
In addition to two-time Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender, the R-rated thriller stars Charles Parnell (Barry), Arliss Howard (Manhunt), Sophie Charlotte (Todas as Flores), and Oscar winner Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton). The film’s based on writer Alexis Nolent (aka Matz) and illustrator Luc Jacamon’s graphic novel series, and was adapted by Andrew Kevin Walker.
Three-time Oscar nominee David Fincher directed and Ceán Chaffin served as producer.

Though they are exceptionally well-designed in pretty much every area, some of the biggest thrills in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games come when you unlock a new suit design. Insomniac put a ton of effort into the designs of both Spider-Man’s legacy suits and the new suit ideas they came up with that often feel right at home in the Spider-Verse. Of course, some are inevitably better than others.
Just note that for the purposes of this list, we will be judging these suits based entirely on looks. Furthermore, these rankings do account for color variants of these suits when applicable.
Spider-Man 2: Best Peter Parker Suits
Peter honestly didn’t get the best suits in Spider-Man 2, but there are a handful of outfits in the game that either offer something truly unique or tap into a timeless look.

Tom Cruise is used to going to extremes to thrill audiences with the bombastic action of the Mission: Impossible franchise, but how long can he cheat death by repeatedly playing MI6 agent Ethan Hunt? If Cruise has his way, he’ll laugh at the Grim Reaper’s boney face alongside the withering visage of Father Time by defying the odds for years to come. Forever the goal-oriented actor, Cruise says he wants to walk in Harrison Ford’s shadow by playing Ethan Hunt until he’s the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny actor’s age.
“Harrison Ford is a legend,” Cruise told The Sydney Morning Herald while walking the red carpet on the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One premiere. “I’ve got twenty years to catch up with him.” While Cruise has played Ethan Hunt for over twenty years, Ford still plays Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones Jr.

Sooner or later, Ethan Hunt will face a mission he really ought not to accept. But for the time being, he remains the one man on Earth willing to attempt the impossible without questioning the motives of those who require his services. That’s the deal with America’s most dutiful Boy Scout, Tom Cruise, who’s carried the billion-dollar “Mission: Impossible” franchise across 27 years without losing steam. Compare that with Indiana Jones, who’s failed to connect with a younger generation, or the “Fast and Furious” movies, which aren’t running out of gas so much as guzzling the laughing sort.
“Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” finds Cruise, now in his 60s, still running from one side of a very big, very wide screen to the other as if his life — and the lives of all 8 billion people on the planet — depended on it. This is Hunt’s seventh blockbuster outing,...

In the previous episode of The Witcher season 3, Geralt was startled by a major revelation that shook him to his very core. A young girl with white hair and green eyes, bearing an uncanny resemblance to Ciri, proclaimed herself to be Geralt’s true daughter and the child of destiny. However, in the third episode, the mystery surrounding the girl’s identity is finally unveiled when Geralt’s mother’s friend, Anika, utilizes druidic treatments to uncover the truth.
Spoilers Ahead
Who Was Tyren? What Did She Reveal?
In episode 3’s opening, Geralt takes the girl to Anika’s hut, a druid and friend of his mother, Viscena. Inside, Geralt discovered Otto, a werewolf who had transformed into a human thanks to Geralt’s protection pendant. Squid Game was a legit pop culture phenomenon when it came out in the fall of 2021. No one expected a Korean show like this to have such an impact in North America, but the show became a bona-fide sensation, with the show quickly earning a season two renewal. According to Netflix’s Tudum site, the four new players are Korean stars “Yim Si-wan (Unlocked), Kang Ha-neul (The Pirates: The Last Royal Treasure), Park Sung-hoon (The Glory) and Yang Dong-geun (Yaksha: Ruthless Operations).” No news yet on who they’re playing, but expect more info on the new season soon.

Monsters! Magic! Musical entertainment! All three are central ingredients in The Witcher – and all seem to be back in full force for Season 3 of Netflix’s epic fantasy adaptation. After a long wait, the show is finally returning in a matter of weeks – not only bringing the latest adventures of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri to fans, but marking the final season in which Henry Cavill will be playing the central role (to be replaced for Season 4 by Liam Hemsworth). Looking at the latest trailer, there are hopes that Cavill will at least be going out on a high – with lashings more monster-battling action, promise of war brewing in The Continent, hints of the Wild Hunt arriving, and all kinds of neck-slicing finishing moves to boot.
It’s inescapable really – you can’t help but watch this trailer and be sad that Cavill is putting down the silver wig after this season.
