Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The next to last musical number "My Love, My Life" is very emotional. It may be difficult to watch for viewers who are coping with the loss of a parent.
  • On a stormy night with thunder and lightning crashing around, in a deserted ruined house, young Donna is confronted by a terrified, rearing horse.
  • There's a scene of a woman going into labor and is about to give birth. (This might be frightening for younger viewers)
  • The "I've Been Waiting For You" musical number is very emotional. As it shows Sophie pay tribute to her mother and also flashes back to her being born.
  • Donna finds out that Sam is engaged to someone else, and broke up with him. This might upset some people.
  • A main plot point of the film is that Donna had passed away a year before the film takes place. No cause of death is revealed but several characters get very emotional.
