This episode flows quite well, but it's not even that which makes me like it so much: it seems to me that this episode is what the series would've been, were it not for its repeated swings towards the infantile. No Podlings spilling stuff all over themselves or Skeksis oozing or eating pus - just a well-crafted, thoughtful plot, where all sides have their appropriate agenda and work towards it as best as they can, on the road to the final battle.
With that said, the execution of the plot isn't always great, and sometimes rather goofy, and Deet's "fathers" remain to me a questionable insertion.
