How Stupid Can You Get, Nick Durand?
lavatch16 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins with a distraught Maura hysterical about the abduction of Alice and young Flynn. Of course, Nick Durand is 100% convinced that his wife and son have somehow been kidnapped by Em...despite his last phone conversation with her when she warned him that the psychopath who subjected her to six years of punishment is the perpetrator. Em explicitly warned Nick that the lives of Alice and Flynn are in danger.

We subsequently learn that a large man in a mask is the perp, keeping Alice and Flynn locked up and subjecting the boy to water torture. The program's title of "Brave Boy" comes from Flynn's choice to accept the torture in lieu of his mother.

Laura Colson, an eager news reporter pays for the bail for Jack and tells him that she believes Em is innocent. Laura was inadvertently stabbed by Em at the moment she was released from captivity and was still a "wild lady." Jack now confides in Laura, as the father of Em and Jack is enlisted in the cause. Warren Byrne, the ex-cop and old-style detective, uses his connections to learn the name of Charles Avallone as the subject known as "A" in the tape of Dr. Chen's ghoulish experiments.

Em makes a beeline for the psychiatric facility where Avallone has been placed in lockdown. Em disguises herself as a patient and immediately makes a friend who assists Em in locating Charles. In a ferocious struggle between Em and Charles, an object, perhaps a book, is taken away by Em.

The police are (of course) lagging far behind behind Em in their detective work. When Bobby and Nick finally arrive at the mental asylum, Em is struggling with Charles. When she leaves the building, she is cornered by Nick. Both are holding firearms. Suddenly, a shot rings out and Nick drops to the ground. But it is not clear whether or not Em fired the shot.

Finally, it's exciting.
Sleepin_Dragon9 September 2020
The Masked killer has taken Alice and Flynn, Emily tracks down someone she knows to have been involved, she discovers him, and so does Jack.

This very much felt like the first episode, it was dramatic, exciting and we weren't buried in melodrama. After four episodes of virtually nothing happening to this, it's as I've been saying, ten episodes was total overkill, six would have been ideal. Lots of tension, excitement, this was vibrant drama.

One issue again, the dumb Police, if Officer Jack was sent to look for my missing socks I'd be worried, he is hapless, clueless, and pretty dim, Emily is a superhero in disguise.

Entertaining, 8/10.

Nick is a complete piece of excrement!!

Warning: Spoilers
The amount of idiotic therapies that these stupid FBI people Briley e is amazing!!! How could Emily be in a mental facility and still have your family kidnapped??? She couldn't, Nick!! The writers who obviously are brain dead have a story that has clowns running around as police man and FBI agents! I am only watching this because Stana is an excellent actress. And the person who is playing Alice is a complete Buffon!!! It is amazing that these actors were cast and have the intelligence to play any characters. Emily's family are the best actors and are more believable than Nick and Alice! Embarrassing.

Here are some spoilers

Warning: Spoilers
OK, so Em's Dad tells her that Charles is in a mental facility and that she'll have to break in. Em just says something like "OK, Dad. I love you." So, I suppose that she knew exactly where Dad meant and she went there right away. That's what I call a plot hole.

Anyway, Nick, the 75 IQ FBI agent, is convinced that Em has abducted Alice and Flynn and once a few dozen other 75 IQ agents (that's why they are all called 'special agents') found out where Charles is, Nick goes there with his pal, the 76 IQ BPD detective. Nick lucks into a lead on Em and catches up to her, accusing her of the abduction. Em is just speechless at Nicks idiocy and it seems that she finally shoots Nick to get him out of the way so that she can go find Flynn.

I think that the news headlines in the next episode will be that Em has become entangled in the storyline and has fallen into a plot hole...or something like that.
