- Calvin Lee: [after doing the deed in the restroom after the service] I - I don't know what came over me.
- Janine: Sex and funerals, it's a thing.
- Calvin Lee: Really?
- Janine: Sure! We're all reminded about mortality when someone dies.
- Calvin Lee: Yeah! I guess it's just the grief coming out.
- Janine: [pecks him with a kiss] Well...
- [leaves, passes Ben on her way back]
- Calvin Lee: [sees Ben] Oh!
- Ben Pownall: Hey.
- Calvin Lee: That... wasn't what it looked like.
- Ben Pownall: Uhm.
- Calvin Lee: Okay, it was what it looked like.
- Ben Pownall: Lee.
- [points at his still-open fly]
- Calvin Lee: [zips up] Sex and funerals, man. It's a thing.
- [on his way]
- Ben Pownall: So I've heard.
- Maddie Bishop: Ryn! You can't be here! What were you thinking?
- Ryn: I want to learn.
- [to Ben:]
- Ryn: When you say... me and my people are animals... I really want to know.
- Ben Pownall: Know what?
- Ryn: If I am human. When my people die, family take body... swim... for a long time. We hold on.
- Maddie Bishop: Like a human... you hold on?
- Ryn: Yes.
- Maddie Bishop: Then what happens?
- Ryn: We take body and rests it deep. So no other animal can find it. We leave it in... special place.
- Maddie Bishop: A funeral?
- Ryn: I know I am part animal. But I am part human.
- Xander McClure: Maddie Bishop. Heart of gold. Sees the good in everybody. Always loved that about you.
- Maddie Bishop: Xander, will you stop it? That was a long time ago.
