I tried.. i really tried.. watched about 40 min so i did try.. but just unbearable.. sorry guys just unbearable.. too slow and directing was not good.. the story going few lines is ok but this was just too slow too boring to a point you just lost interest.. and yes i was tired when watching it but this truly put me to sleep.. as i said unbearable

I challenge anyone giving this film anything higher than an five to explain it. You can't, and neither could the filmmakers. So instead they distort a few still images, run them altogether at high speed for two seconds and declare themselves profound. Seriously there is no plot. Nothing makes sense. There is no "twist", just a jumbled mess of over-reliance on overdone tropes. The 'pervy therapist taking advantage of his beautiful patient' shtick has been done to death and it never stops being offensive.

Giving this a 3/10 is probably being way too generous. It only gets that because I've seen far worse that I've watched all the way through to the end. But this one could probably double nicely as the stain on the inside of one of Joe Biden's adult diapers.

This movie was interminable. I could only watch about 35 minutes before I finally killed it. The vacation 'cabin' is nice, some of the other kitchen and living interiors shown are nifty, high-style urban design and the Pacific-Northwest woods are spectacular. BUT...wooden, unbelievable acting, unimpressive laptop 'interference' that's supposed to reference 'otherworldly' activity and the slow, dull, plodding pace and weak premise don't make for a positive viewing experience. Interminable.
So boring I wish I was abducted by aliens...

When I stumbled upon this 2021 movie from writer and director Vincent Caldoni, I must admit that the synopsis for the movie was actually selling the movie well enough. At least it made me pick up the movie and give it a go.
And wow, this movie was tedious and so incredibly slow paced and boring that it was a drag to sit through it. In fact, I managed to endure a painstaking 45 minutes of the ordeal that is known as "Contactee", then I gave up out of sheer and utter boredom.
The movie is listed as a sci-fi movie, I suppose pure undiluted boredom is not a movie genre, huh?
The storyline told in "Contactee" was just devoid of anything even remotely interesting and the story dragged on at an incredible snail pace. It is virtually one of the most boring and mundane movies I have had the misfortune of suffering through - well, partially through, to be honest. Yeah, the storyline just completely failed to enthrall me and offered no entertainment or enjoyment whatsoever.
"Contactee" has a small list of casted actors and actresses, and they literally had next to nothing to work with, so it was painful to watch them struggle with the lack of a script like fish out of water, flailing around trying to get along.
This was a massive swing and a miss from writer and director Vincent Caldoni, and I have absolutely no interest in returning to watch the rest of this snoozefest.
My rating of "Contactee" lands on a mere one out of ten stars. This was just a horrible experience. Do yourself a favor and stay well clear of this.

The storyline is too slow. The acting is bad. The black/white scenes to indicate flashbacks are too corny for words, almost laughable. The hidden camera images are clichè. The dialogues are poor which also goes for their sound. And so on.
What I did like was the house.

A friend told me about this little sci-fi gem. I'm a nerd when it comes to aliens and thought this was a really fresh take on how they have already inhabited all aspects of our life. The proof is out there. The movie is obviously super low budget but they did surprisingly well with very little. Definitely think you should give it a go. I'lll be watching it again soon. I like to go back and give movies another go down the line.

Vibrant colors and light play are very impressive in my opinion! The story is good, a little more in depth on how society itself looks at the abduction phenomenon. Not a fan of the audio personally, but other than that I'm glad I stumbled on it.

Not every indie film with inexperienced actors is automatically bad, so I gave this a shot even after it was clear this was a novice project.
However, bad writing does make for a bad film, and this was bad.
"I'm not a doctor, I'm a licensed counselor."
That line resonated through my head for the rest of the film.
I realize that not every screen writer is an expert on everything they write about, but a quick google search on the words "licensed counselor" might have made it clear to the writer that this particular job does not involve stethoscopes, phlebotomy, or blood labs. Nor does it involve romantic entanglements in private cabins with patients. It definitely doesn't involve climbing into bed with a patient (particularly not a bed over which you've placed a hidden camera). Add in man-handling terrified patients and forcing pills down their throats with wine, and the entire therapist-patient relationship becomes a vision of shock and awe.
Perhaps, though, to this character, the idea of professional ethics is as confusing as it clearly is to the writer. Frankly, though, we were never given the idea that the therapist believed he was doing anything wrong. He was completely comfortable with his behavior. The film-maker seemed to be equally comfortable with it. It was supposed to be seen as "helpful" and maybe a little romantic. ::shudder::
Ultimately, aliens saying "weird" and "attagirl" were the most realistic and believable aspects of this fiasco.
Over all, this is like the film-making version of those early, terrible acts by delusional contestants on reality TV talent shows. If you get a kick out of those, this is the film for you. Or if you're just curious what the products of the modern education system are doing with their lives. Or if you just have a slow day with nothing to do and you want to see how deep the stupid goes. Answer: really, really deep.

And became involved in the story, although I also found myself confused several times throughout, then subjected to some tropes of a rather pedestrian variety. This has some good qualities and potential; I'd like to see it accentuate these aspects more, trim down the confusion and do away with the rest altogether. I also loved the scenery from my home area.

The key to a bad movie is the same as the key to a good one: The writing.
I get it. The idea is to present an extraterrestrial movie in some way that hasn't been done to death. The writing is almost passable. There's a quick test to rate screenwriting: imagine reading the story as a novel instead of seeing it as a movie. The camerawork, acting, music composition... even the direction are all artistic attempts to interpret one original vision: that of the writer. (Of course, it should help that the writer is also the director, as in this movie. But then this is just proving my point. Not even the writer himself can bring good direction out of a bad script.)
There are some artsy attempts at some scenes, and I appreciate the nonlinear approach (once again) in the plotline. But the bottom line is this movie would have bombed even without the pandemic crushing its big premiere plans. People may blame it on a lot a things, but the bottom line is this movie was poorly written.

I love Indie movies. This could have been a good movie but it wasn't. I watched almost half way and could not take any more of this movie, so I did what any curious movie goer would do I watched as I fast forwarded. Nothing happened until almost the end... and believe me it's not worth the wasted time just to see it. Yes some of the reviews are true, there is some good cinematography but that's it. This is the worst acting I have seen yet. Not only were the actors just bad... but they did absolutely nothing through the whole movie it was nails on a chalk board. Watch if you need background noise.

It's nice the writer/director has friends that would try to say something nice, but it's obvious they are not offering honest reviews.. This was poorly written, poorly acted, poorly directed and poorly edited.. The cinematography was maybe the best part, but only because it's hard to screw up nature shots..
I'm sure the actors did their best, but with a horrendous incoherent story, poor leading from the director and just no humor at all it is a total disaster.. The choppy editing made the whole experience even worse than imagined at the description.. What is a potentially interesting subject is trashed here..
Hope you all learn something from this wish fulfillment experience..

This starts off badly but almost resembles something for about 30 seconds and then you realize what kind of ground you're in.
The female lead is supposed to be desirable? Ummm that's a big part of the low budget. The guy playing the counselor? Who is REALLY BUSY while she has to go for walks? Wtf is this stupid plotline????? Oh shes getting "contacted" by aliens thru nokia burners they hide in the woods? Man..... anyone this deluded to make a movie needs another hobby.
It's actually sickening that people are so deluded they think they can make films for a hobby. How this landed anywhere near my radar and made me stream is a travesty.

Decent film keeps you guessing as to the mental state of the characters. Great artistic flair in cinematography with the black and white flashback sequences. I see why a lot of reviewers described it as slow, and given that's not for everybody, but it was a nice touch for this movie.

What can i say? i just like movies like this. i wasnt super convinced i'd enjoy but by the end i was hooked. Great performances and cool scenery/cinematography. This one is truly original. no, it's not for everyone but that's what makes it good.

Very interesting, fresh take on the subject of aliens. It also delves into mental health, and uses the cinematography and great actors to create a really creepy watch. Would love to watch more movies with this director amd the lead actress!

This film is amazing and wonderful! Visually, it is beautiful. And there is so much to see in every scene - settings ... backgrounds ... lighting ... the actors appearance, gestures and tones - but it's all very subtle. I found myself paying close attention to every detail to find clues to where the director was leading us. It keeps you guessing until the end - and even then the only thing I was absolutely sure about was that I thoroughly enjoyed this movie!
