How can such a beautiful place be the place of such a crime?

Warning: Spoilers
An idyllic Scottish village is the scene for tragedy. Handsome music teacher Niall Swift is found at the foot of a mountainous range, early indications are that he jumped, but when the local DS, Annie Redford, takes a closer look it becomes apparent that he was murdered. Swift had earlier had a disagreement with the father of a young girl he'd been teaching. DCI Lauren Quigley is brought in from Glasgow to investigate. A human heart is also discovered, something very wrong is happening.

Watching this my initial thoughts were of an attempt to create a Scottish Broadchurch, I did The Loch an injustice, there's already lots going on, an interesting storyline, and a set of well drawn, feasible characters. It benefited from the appearance of Siobhan Finneran, a very talented actress, with the ability to add a bit of grit. You will not be able to watch this without marvelling at the majesty of the scenery, the locations are jaw dropping, adding a different, unique dimension to this drama.

First part down, I'm intrigued 8/10
