A spanish soap opera level
WiseMan2612 August 2019
Wow, just wow. All the character performance are make me very emotional and affect us much. This drama can be categorised as spanish level soap opera. Well, the storyline are sometimes absurb and make us very angry with the villain character. Kudos to the writer for making this fantastic drama.

My favourite Turkish series
eternallyafar31 January 2021
This series is different from the rest that we're used to. It presents so many different aspects of life - social status, love life, family life...in a serious and real way. I would say that it's more real than any other. The cast is amazing, as well as their acting, that made me cry so many times, but also laugh. Definitely recommend it, since I've watched it three times and every time I was blown away by how good it is and how many emotions it unravels in me. If you're thinking that it's just another Turkish drama, you're so wrong. Please give it a chance!

Beautiful love story
abkazmi-3923931 July 2018
Loved this series. Like all other Turkish series episodes were long with unnecessary sub plots. Acting of Fazilet was excellent. Some scenes between the lead pair were beautifully shot. Ending was rushed, there should have been more scenes of Yagiz, Hazan and Sinan to understand the characters more. I think the writer should make a modern Turkish version of Pride and prejudice. Caglar Ertugrul as Darcy and Deniz Baysal as Elizabeth will do justice to their roles.

The most unique Turkish show and love story ever
tm72827 January 2019
The story line at first seems to be somewhat straight forward until the unfolding of each character begins. Each and everyone makes mistakes, but each of them has their own reasoning behind them.

Pride is a very fragile topic, especially for Turks and consequently their series. Some very well highlighted problems in these series are: woman's pride and chastity, family's pride and duties being exaggerated or neglected, money as a tool for survival versus money as a tool for power and negligence; love in various forms: motherly love with its obstacles, brotherly love with its issues, sisterly love and envy, first love, bittersweet true love worth fighting for, love between individuals with a great age gap, unrequited love, self-love, narcissistic love, self-sacrificing love, and platonic love.

The series contain great life lessons worth learning, such as honesty, ability to listen to both sides before judging, intentions and feelings that are being far more important than certain actions, mental strength due to knowing the self and restraining that which is wrong, etc.

Fazilet hanim first seems to be a very frustrated woman due to her financial struggles and environment, wishing to save her daughters from the poverty she's found herself in. Although, her story has an explanation for her desire to give her kids a better life. She is a human being too, despite all of her tricky games, she's a mother caring for a child's happiness, a mother that's seen so much that wants to protect her innocent grown-up kids from mistakes and the fate she had. Money played a very very big role in her life and she literally is mad at money, that's why she sees it as power: the more the better. At the end of the day, she learns her lesson and helps her daughters to follow their hearts seeing what they had to go through because of her actions.

Hazim bey is another example of a father that is wishing to protect his kids from the bad realities of life. By being over-protective her makes a lot of mistakes for which he pays at the end. Although his intentions were good, decisions made could not be undone. As a result, two of his children succeed in life, and two lose everything they've had: one its life and another loses himself.

Ece transformed from a naive girl that had no clue what she wants in life with so many insecurities to a mother with an aim, a mother who knows what she wants. He love stories are very different: the crazy one with a young man and a mature love which teaches her about respect, understanding, and support. Her battle with Selin ends dramatically.

Yasin is embodiment of young boiling blood that neglects to listen but is eager to act as quick as possible. Because of this, he loses a lot. Eventually, he learns his lesson hoping to have learned it way earlier before things got too bad.

Nil is shown as a very contradictory figure. First, she's obsessively in love with Sinan, but later she recovers and discovers the beauty of knowing the self and the beauty of independence. If only Selin too could have had enough time for therapy...

Sinan. Narcissist. His ego and pride takes over him and as a result he loses his heart and his identity. In my opinion, he deserves it.

Kerime is a mother that's made the biggest mistake in her life when she's given up her child in return for worldly favors. As a result, she loses her mind looking for her child and is blinded. Very sad ending awaited her.

Hazan. An insecure girl with a mask of masculinity who discovers herself through the path of the first crush, first silly dreams. Soon after discovering herself she realizes that her old dreams the old self dreamed of are not what she wants today as a grown-up, mature, beautiful, confident woman. Her love is unlike others. First complete rejection, then continuous obstacles and sacrifices of her pride for the loved ones, and finally full acceptance, fight for love, and then reunion with the one who she's been fighting for and who's been fighting for her, not against her. She is with the one, who was ready to give up his life for her, and give his all, fighting the world of injustices, and finding the internal strength to stand up against the world and prove the love that keeps their fire alive. Although Hazan did not find the strength to confess about certain things, but she didn't give up on her loved one after the secrets unfolded. She kept fighting and was rewarded for it.

Yagiz - the most unique character of the series. His manners, beliefs, and loyalty were developed by himself, not by others. After feeling left out, forgotten, misunderstood, unsupported, he's found that strength within himself to become the man who would withstand everything that life throws at him, not turning away, not running, not hiding from the problems. He faces them, he solves them. He sacrifices for others not seeing the same coming his way, but he doesn't give up because he stands for justice and for truth. His strength brings the best outcomes in his life: love, acceptance, understanding, support, and most importantly he knows who he is without any need of titles and names. He is the perfect man who makes his parents proud, his wife happy, and those around him respect and love him for who he is.

Best series ever, and the best couple ever too. There was no need to show any physical interactions/love in order to feel the love the protagonists have for each other. Their actions reveal far more love than any kisses and intimate scenes could ever do.

Watch it for Caglar Ertugul's Yagiz!
mollysanfran7 July 2020
With a title like Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlari, you can bet an international viewer like me would not be enthusiastic about this series. Seriously the producers should look at how they name their work. But I am thankful I listened to my online watch party recommendation and watched it. Is it good? Well the story is about the evil that resides in human hearts and how easily people give in to it. So its a difficult watch-- there is a lot of stress, characters undergo really horrible experiences and the viewer at times feels totally exhausted by the ugliness the characters show-- esp Fazilet Hanim, Selin and Sinan. But in the midst of the darkness, the character of Yagiz stands out like a brave little candle fighting the wind and with every episode grows brighter and brighter till the end it just suffuses your heart with light. The story is uplifting because Yagiz keeps our faith intact. As humans, we believe that good will prevail and evil will be vanquished; that love will be rewarded and hatred punished. Honestly, in this show , Yagiz is the character which sustains your faith in goodness. The actors are all very good. Esp the actor playing Selin, comes across as a really despicable yet vulnerable girl. Hazan is played very nicely by Deniz and she brings a wholesomeness to her role. Her smile lights up the darkness in the story. The actor playing Fazilet is too loud and almost caricaturish -- she makes you hate her. Sinan is really the most weak actor. He doesnt manage to convincingly portray the character at all. The best for the last-- Caglar Ertugul-- words fail at the sincerity with which Caglar has played the character of Yagiz. His intensity, his way of conveying hurt through his eyes, his meaningful silences-- its like poetry. I pray Caglar gets really good projects because he has the potential of being the hottest star on the Turkish entertainment world. Also kudos to the beautiful intense love story between Yagiz and Hazan. How difficult it is to love someone who is your brother's beloved? How beautifully the moral struggle is captured. Out of all the dizis I have watched, really this story of Yagiz and Hazan stands at the top as the best most poignant love story, along with Cesur ve Guzel My advice is that the story is too dark but watch it for the beauty of what one single good man can do to a sea of banal evil. I give it 10 stars only for Caglar and the character of Yagiz. Watch it for the love story of Hazan and Yagiz

Woman with Daddy Issues
mdiraheta30 April 2019
I'm not used to seeing tragic series. I didn't think much of the tragic music at the beginning of each episode until the last episode. From the first episode, Hazan talks about her life before and after her father's death. While dating Sinan, everything she missed about her dad is fulfilled by his older brother Yagiz. When a new woman comes into the picture, she reacts like a daughter fearing her 'dad' is going to be taken away. Before the accident, this series was great. After the accident, the series takes a sordid twist. Though it is obvious Sinan is suffering from traumatic brain injury causing his anger to be drastically multiplied, his actions are seen as intentional evil. As someone who suffered from TBI for a few months after an accident couple of years ago, the series' ending was upsetting.

Nice series so far
Mouna201716 April 2017
The series is interesting so far. Nice actors and good acting. it's different than the majority of the stories we encounter in the Turkish drama. it's more of a show of social ambitions by a mid class woman than a collection of hidden secrets we used to see. I watched 4 episodes s far so I might come back and update this review. update : the first season finale aired in June. I just love this series and I recommend it to every one, a good mix of drama, suspense, love, fun and crazy moments. First season was 13 episodes long. Second season will start in September 2017. I gave it 9 stars

Worst Turkish series I ever watched
chodavarapusupriya22 March 2020
I watched this series just for Caglar Ertugrul. Fazilet Hanim just sells out her younger daughter to rich man just to secure her future doesn't matter if it compromises her daughter's character , her love , her child. I just couldn't stand the injustice of fazilet Hanim. Doesn't matter if she loves her daughters. The portrayal of that kind of mother is nonsense. haven't seen such a worst show. And so much injustice done tho the character called Yasin. Just hate this show

Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlari
nevzif2 February 2018
The plot lines of this series is a very interesting one over all it is constructed so well if we think of Turkish standers. The story starts with fazilet a mother of two daughter who seeks to gain fortune and to settle her daughters well in life of course for doing that she followed the principles of "ends justifies the means". Fazilet is a very interesting character with her there is no such thing called predictability you think you know her, but really you don't know her. Second major character in the show is Yagiz Egemen, this character is the name of prince charming we always dreamt of having. Yagiz is written like a poem or a piece of an art work .You find yourself loving him step by step in this show and learning every line he is saying by heart. I don't want to enter in details of his plot line because of spoilers and because you need to get to know him step by step and episode by episode. Finally, the writer of this series is different from other Turkish writers she does not give the audience what they want and she follows only her story, stubborn woman who you can not pressure with rating or social media or anything. She is saying out loud I am in control for people who respect that, you will like this show.

I've picked up on a lot of key words spoken in Turkish. #YagHaz
sjudaline2116 April 2018
This is a great Turkish series for someone who only understands English (I obviously watch with English subtitles but I've picked up on a lot of key words that have been spoken in Turkish).

I like how every episode is dramatic with slightly added humour to the mix and of course I ship #YagHaz, it is such a bittersweet romance. I am also curious to see how the series ends.

Nice series , great actors and plots but horrible producing that made the story to be ended incomplete
raefandrose27 July 2018
I like this series because it has two interesting love story for the same actress to the two main actors (Brothers ). It shows very clear cut between the real love and the love of being loved from your first crush . It shows the comparison between both types . Also , it shows how the feeling grow from heating someone to love in him to death and vice versa . Also, it shows unrequited love for the best you could ever see . you will see betrayed , mistakes in raising children , fake love and sacrifice .

Also shows the purity of love without the classic love scenes which minimized in kissing ,sex and other things. It makes you feel to the core without necessary experiencing these classics(maybe little ) But that shows how the writer was genius in crafting the love stories . You have to be patient because the episodes are quite long and the narrative unfold slowly . But What I hate that the production interfered and minimized the lead actors scenes to the minimum , destroyed the beautiful story from episode 44 to the end. Then ended the whole story in episode 50 which was insane and it was doing injustice to the efforts made which made me decide to not watching any things from the production company avsar anymore

My favourite turkish show and favourite love story!
kttlor31 July 2019
At the beggining I thought it was going to be just boring love story: poor girl and rich guy. But starting with 14th episode it started to be a very interesting, intriguing drama. Great actors, great story. I have returned to this show already couple times. Unforgettble. If you like crying at the movies, you must watch it!

There's a good story but patience needed
mosquitocyn11 April 2022
I've just finished episode 12. I was going to give up initially but decided to plod along as I just needed this as a "fill in" time while I wait for new episodes of a few other series I'm following to be released weekly. It's not my desired kind of series as there is too much drama and unpleasant characters in this series. But it did remind me of a good character literature study where everyone in the series has an interesting development albeit many are pretty irritating. What keeps me on is definitely Yagiz, Hazan and Ece. I just want to see how they mature and contribute to the series. They are the ones with some goodness in them. I must admit that I fast forwarded a lot as I couldn't stand the screaming and over-reacting of many of the characters. I personally didn't like Fazilet's role and her devious schemes but I guess she is pivotal to the entire plot.

Edit : so, I plod along and now am at episode 35. This series is getting very very disappointing. I think there are only 2 or 3 nice characters in the series, the others are quite horrible and evil. All the plots, secrets and evil intentions and people shouting is really making the series irritating. I'm only staying on to watch the ending as I want to see a happy ending for Yagiz.

Catastrophic! I d rather watch paint dry!
Amir_Azizi4 July 2019
I was paid to watch this to analyze it and boy if it was a horrible experience! The target of this series are old, conservative women with memory of a gold fish!

From a terrible script, filled with weird and unrelated expositions to bad acting and unbelievably childish directing. This is so bad on so many different levels, I don't know where to begin.

The worst thing about this series is writer's perception of audience, the viewer is considered to be so dumb that doesn't even remember what happened two episodes ago or the very basics of character foundation or character development, in every other episode a character goes totally nuts and does weirdest things to push the drama forward, yet, there are no consequences and this happens again and again and again.

I teach filmmaking in 5 different universities and this is what I show to my students as a cautionary tale and what not to do!

The best series you could ever watch!!!
toutaelhajj20 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I can't not share my disappointment regarding this series. They ruined it towards the end with unnecessary events instead of solving things that mattered. But still, this is my favorite series of all time for more than one reason. The plot is smart and very much detailed, the events are connected together in a witty way. The love story is OUT OF THE CHARTS. Despite everything that went wrong towards the end, I couldn't stop watching because you can never find a love story that is more deep, more meaningful. You can never find more of a perfect man than Yagiz Egemen. Yes, you will end up slamming your head in the wall, you'll learn to curse and cry and laugh and go crazy, but it will be worth it. Yagiz is worth it. I would have enjoyed more time with him, I would've liked more space for them to solve their conflicts and trust and fight evil together and I didn't see that, and I definitely would've loved to see Ece and Yasin grow up and learn to love each other the right way, and what I'm more disappointed with is that I would have enjoyed knowing more about Fazilet's past and what molded her into the woman she became. But what was done is done and despite it all, you can't live your life without meeting Yagiz, without learning what is actually considered a perfect man, and why you should never settle for less. For Yagiz, this series got a ten stars. I'm always thankful for FHVK and Sirma Yanik, for writing such intense story with the most amazing character to ever exist.

Information = power
krumins-252468 April 2022
The main lession from this series is the information is power, if you know something you can blackmail and use it against others. I loved the storyline, it was very addict, 2/3 was awesome but the last 1/3 episodes began to be boring, too much intrigues, machinations, lies, viciousness. I watched it because of Caglar Ertugrul, and it was so bad to see his sad pained face as Yagiz. I think comedy is more fit to him, for example Afili Ask.

flying saucer attack
orsonsdagreds20 November 2019
So my theory is that aliens wrote this as an attempt to cash in on our planet's drama tv market, because their own television is so advanced and competitive, that it is simply impossible for the average alien tv production crew to achieve anything, which is why they have traveled here, studied us and created this imitation. Nice try aliens, but i know what you're up to.

Very bad! Seriously bad TV.
juneb-2089820 November 2021
A scheming poverty mother who invaded the mansion of the rich, worked as a housemaid and took her 2 daughters with her, disturbed the peace, and wreak havoc in the mansion, and acted bossy inside the house and destroyed the lives of all including her own daughters. Not even remotely to ever happen in real life. It's full of insaneness and too unbearable to watch. Terrible acting from the lead star, Fazilet's acting ranges from mock-up crying to shouting to nonsense screaming all the time, and I mean all the time she enters the screen, no whisper, no normal speaking, just crazy annoying screams, coupled with the absurdity and madness of the 2 daughters. Seemed like everyone has anger management issues. I got confused if this is a drama series with comedy or comedy with drama, either way it's a terrible show intended for gossiping middle-aged housewives cleaning carpets every afternoon at the balconies.
