What we have here is "Billy Joel: Uptown Girl", the music video for the song mentioned in the title by the artist mentioned in the title. At slightly over 3 minutes, it is pretty short indeed. The tune is pretty catchy and still well-known, so no surprise that this one also received some awards recognition and a couple years back famous Irish boy group Westlife brought out their cover of this song and that means something for sure as they were really big back then. By the way Claudia Schiffer was playing the title character in that one and she is certainly more known than Christie Binkley, who does so in the old video. This one is from 1983, so it will have its 35th anniversary next year and Joel was in his 30s when he made it, definitely one of his most known efforts. The director here is Jay Dubin and he worked with Joel on several other occasions too. Overall, this is a fun song, okay video with lots of dancing near a gas station. Real greatness or depth you maybe won't find here, but the romance and lightness of it all makes more than up for it. Go check it out, I am sure you have come across the song already at some point.
