More than expectation
ntcs-7406627 April 2017
Great sets, and super attention to detail. The movie is setup somewhere in the early 70s. Cars and Bikes used from the era. Very nice story, that used to happen in the Punjabi families and in fact still happens at times. Simi Chahal looks cute in the role and does complete justice. But I was surprised, that Mandy Takhar could pull such a role off, as I have never seen her in an era movie. Hats off to her The looks and costumes of actor were pretty apt too. Kudos to the team of the film

Most Amazing & Scintillating - A Cultural Hieght
janjuajr29 November 2017
Although the story is not much out of predictability and is well within "happy-go-ending" but still the flimatography and direction of the moving are unique.

If someone has little life of simple village life, cultural insight, domestic and collective values of village society, he will enjoy the enthralling impact of this movie. Previously I had enjoyed most "Angrej (2015)" and kept it high with me and I guess this movie stands next to the same.

This movies is of the nature which propels to see again and again. Love this movie.

A Punjabi movie on the right wave length
BazSingh21 November 2018
A great plot further aided by better than usual cinematography.

Some great performances by Simi Chahal & Mandy Takhar, whilst Anita Devgan plays an incredibly convincingly evil sas (mother-in-law).

This movie manages to combine subtle comedy with a solid story line to take you on an emotional roller-coaster - press play!

In a world full of subpar, slapstick Punjabi comedies this was a refresh breath of fresh air.

Impressive. I am not a movie buff, I loved this movie. So real, what a story line, heart touching. Amazing direction and acting. Kept me interested through out the movie. I would pay to watch this movie in a theater.

If this was a hindi movie, this would be the top grossing movie. Clean, excellent family movie.

Rafi saab song remake was pleasant surprise
charibabu3 April 2019
What a pleasant surprise movie! Recalling 80s Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies, all credit goes to director for making clean entertainer. Above all I enjoyed Rafi saab and Asha duet of 80s . Performance by Tarsem, Mandy and Simi is marvellous. Keep it up

Misleading ratings - good for children!
harelives18 May 2020
I can't simply understand why people praises this movie this much. Actually there is nothing that much worthy to it. Or maybe they could be people that only watch this kind of movies. Because if this film is good enough for 9/10, it's good enough in its own universe with lot of stupid movies.

If you are a movie lover who watches many movies in many genres and languages, you'll simply find what I mean after watching this. And as for my experience, relying on ratings is not wise regarding Punjabi movies. That I'm certain of.

This movie is based on pure stupidity, jealousy and hatred of a single character and it even doesn't explain the reason for that. She ultimately becomes understood about her sins and becoming a good person. It's just like a children's tale. It's dull throughout. Predictable and the wow factor is missing.

But on the other hand, I liked the songs, music and danses very much. Actually I still keep watching a certain dancing song.

If you select movies on ratings, it doesn't work for Punjabi movies. But you'll need to watch several to notice that.

Warning: Spoilers
Rabb da radio at first thought seemed like a comedy but revealed itself to have depth and meaning beyond understanding. such a beautifully written and directed movie and the cast was outstanding.

mandy takhars performance brilliant as per but i dont think anyone could even come close to how well she managed to portray the pain and guilt of her character naseeb kaur.

simi chahal as guddi could not have been played better, innocent looks and a shy face perfect for the naive character that she was to play.

tarsem jassars character simple but elegant to say the least. limited actions. limited words. but the emotion and love really pull through the expression.

the supporting cast was what really made the movie, looking at talents from anita devgan, seema kaushal, and nirmal rishi. the bonds between the supporting characters is what intensified the story and made it the brilliance it is.

would definitely recommend this movie to anyone with an interest in punjabi cinema, family friendly and could watch again and again and again.

'Sasural simar ka' is far better 😅
singhamanjot-7690223 November 2021
I don't know why people love this movie . Tarseem jassar is a good singer but his acting skills aren't that good . I don't know how i watched this movie. A boring movie !

The story was pretty much like typical indian dramas ( IYKYK) 😅 .
