When a Stranger Calls (#2.05)
audaciousness28 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Betty begins receiving terrifying calls from the Black Hood and is forced to cut herself off from her friends and boyfriend. Her mental state deteriorates as she is pulled deeper into his mind games. The Black Hood reveals a secret about Alice's past that rocks the town. Jughead endures an emotionally and physically tolling initiation to join the Serpents. He soon realizes that he can't be a Northsider and a Serpent when he loses two people who are close to him. Veronica's old Nick St. Clair, comes to town and brings chaos and unrest. His actions prove to be sinister and someone is caught in the crossfire with horrifying consequences.

This episode was true psychological horror and fantastic in every respect. There has never been a better episode of a teen drama. Lili's acting was phenomenal. Cole's too. I am in love with this season and this storyline.

Warning: Spoilers
So the episode may not advanced the plot to much but it sure do a lot with it's characters, the suspense keep me on the edge of my seat, it was so well done I loved it

+Alice revelation as a former serpent, her entrance was everything

+Lili Reinhart just delivered her best performance yet, we truly can tell how devastated she was, the haunting look on her face told me the the black hood ain't playing around

+Jughead going o the dark side only to protect his friends

+The scene at the barn was really well done, the suspense was killing me

+Cheryl getting more screen time, the pussycats too

+The Last scene of bughead at pops make me cry

Where are you going, Riverdale?
supermaggie9 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Season 2 started well, but took a turn for the weird (and not in a good, "Jughead"-way) in episodes 4/5. I do not mind the show, who started out mixing The OC and Twin Peaks, but also always had a strong Outsiders- as well as Pretty little liars-touch delving more into these vibes, but it is getting a bit wild (and on a side note: where is FP? I thought there would be more of both Joneses in Season 2!). They should try not to lose too much grip. Maybe it is the Nazi-curse. Since every show who mentioned Nazis or Hitler was derailed and ended shortly after, it surely was bad mojo to unfittingly compare the Red Circle to Neo-Nazis - just to have mentioned the by Americans so well-loved N-word... It wasn't as bad as the poor Hitler joke in the otherwise great show Lucifer with hopes of spiking up the poor episode 6 of season 3 - always a death omen!- but I see stormy weathers coming for this once so great show - a shame, but Hollywood never learns. And by the way, it is as clear as the "mystery" about Keyser Soze - pretty obvious - who the hood is, the only question is, if Hiram is actively involved somehow or just using the situation to his benefit. I hope the Riverdale writers bethink themselves and get back to the basics/what made the first season so exceptionally great.
