Repetitive & Lazy
ThomasDrufke10 May 2018
It's such a prototypical thing for the Arrowverse shows to have a filler episode a mere 2 episodes before the finale. The Thinker doesn't even make an appearance in this episode, and it's yet another case of the show not knowing what they will do so make an episode that simply delays the inevitable.

Even worse, the episode decided to remind us on one of the worst parts about this season and focused the conflict on Amunet and Katee Sackhoff's disappointingly obnoxious performance. Man this show is trying its hardest to get me to stop watching. The "there's still good in you Amunet" made me cringe with how cliched and out of place it felt. Why does she need to be redeemed?

Also, the reveal that the city is going to help Team Flash take down DeVoe? Doesn't that sound like a certain season of Arrow, you know, season 4 against Damien Darhk? As if these shows couldn't get more similar and repetitive...

Barry Allen's greatest nemesis? Iris West making dumb decisions for him
heatsink9810 May 2018
The overall plot of this episode is covered well enough in other reviews. The side plot of Iris's follies--well--that's another story.

Iris West has been hanging with Team Flash for some time. She's written as a sidekick and Barry's love interest, but she's moved firmly into the annoying character category tonight. Iris's brainless decision to write a news story detailing how the whole planet will be reduced to simpletons was irritating to say the least. A competent person would realize the panic this would cause. Iris? Not even a blip on her radar. Making her incompetent on top of bossy isn't going in the right direction. Something needs to change with her story placement to make her both more interesting and less of a pain to watch onscreen.

Too many unnecessary characters

The worst episode of the Flash TV series after "Girls Night Out" and "Run, Iris, Run"

Not exactly an episode by any standard. And Kevin Mock made a mockery of this episode. Apart from Grant Grustin, the acting was bad, and the villains made me laugh. Even there was no need to 'think' about The Thinker!

My ratings (based on what I marked on IMDb): Season 1: 200/23 = 8.69; Season 2: 193/23= 8.23; Season 3: 188/23= 8.17; and Season 4: 139/21= 6.62 (This episode = 5.5/10)

Weak Technobabble takes away from an otherwise decent episode.
wafles9 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I know this is a weird review, but bad technobabble can ruin good sci-fi. I don't know the technobabble it's not usually this bad, i mean i can tell that the things they say make no sense, but at least they don't sound ignorantly stupid of popular science.

Starting with the shards have "the potential energy to level a city"? well yeah, so does a fingernail going by the most famous evacuation of Physics, E = mc^2. I mean, why kind of sale point is that? "The answer is not in science is in Placebo?" errhm... placebo is a scientific concept, discovered by scientific review, i would expect a brilliant bioengineer like Caitlin Snow to know that much.

Also can you guys not say lobotomize? "reset the frontal cortex, melt your mind"? ok i guess...

And that's ignoring the gender constructivist comnent made, (constructivism dismisses evolution, cross cultural meta analysis.) it's only accepted by certain echo chambers within the humanities and hollywood, so please stop.

No more Kate Sackoff, PLEASE.
defmuse22 June 2021
Her British accent is one of the worst I've ever heard, and she's just SUCH A BAD actor. Please stop, or get her an acting coach.

Every episode she has been in has ruined that entire episode. Such a shame.

Yet another disaster of an episode
djsemidream11 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Really, really annoying episode. I don't know which segment is worse, Amunet's character and terrible accent in general, the Council's reasoning, Caitlin's further search for inner self, Iris' "brilliant plan" to include the public (like the smartest person in the Multiverse won't see that coming, that being said, due to terrible writing, he probably won't), Barry sending Caitlin and Joe to one location when he can check all of them in a couple of seconds...Or the fact that this TV show is the least about The Flash and more about everyone else? Not to mention that this episode gives the vibe that it was written by a 10-year old to impress 8-year olds'. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because of Tom Cavanagh's great acting. A cliche that just fits this occasion - an hour of my life I will never get back.

Just another proof that the Season 4 is the weakest season
breathedirt9 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was one of the worst episodes of The Flash I have seen so far. The scenes with the Council of Wells were more awkward than entertaining (on the other hand, Tom Cavanagh proved again that he's a very good actor)(by the way, Sonny Wells sounded like Kevin Hart imitating Dwayne Johnson in Roles Reversed in one of the videos I saw on YouTube the other day), Iris is becoming almost as annoying as Felicity - a brilliant female hero coming up with great solutions (such as "let's publish an article that will engage the citizens of Central City in defeating DeVoe" - yeah, maybe they manage to take selfies with DeVoe before he takes the rest of their intelligence away) and making Barry agree with her on everything.. Amunet and Norvock are terrible villains and in this episode we are so lucky that they are back. As the episode is approaching its end you are hoping that at least that is going to save it but no. So how does this episode end? As brilliantly as it started - Iris playing with her cell phone: "Barry. It's the city. I posted my article and they're responding. They want to help. This guy says he saw DeVoe on 5th and Knoll two days ago. This is great. This means that DeVoe can't hide from us anymore.". Oh, COME ON! Seriously? Yeah, because DeVoe now uses public transportation and goes to local pubs looking for a new chair he could turn into a flying object. He also suddenly stopped using Dibny's abilities to change his identity, he didn't think of this particular scenario at all and, last but not least, he completely abandoned his plan only because his wife left him (yeah, because he didn't say on many occasions that he will never succumb to the "most aberrant of human follies - emotion", ).

Filler by definition
canenero16 May 2018
Probably the worst episode of this bad season: it's just a filler where the Thinker does never appear, but worse, the attempted steps to counter DeVoe are undone by the end of the episode leaving you with the feel of having been robbed of an hour of your life. Luckily I was falling half asleep through the end so I don't even feel bad. The Flash show has definitely lost its touch after Season 2.

it's a shame
LittleStorpingInTheSwuff27 August 2018
I have to admit, the writers have interesting imaginations coming up with some these techno gizmos and stuff. The special affects are really good as well. It's a shame that they waste it all on ridiculous plots and asinine scenes, not to mention the barf inducing barris moments.

Ranking/Reviewing every Flash episode: Harry and the Harrisons
lbramson12 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Back to the bad episodes. Team Flash team up with Amunet Black to stop a villain. Harry and Cisco form the Council of Harrisons after Harry becomes dumb. I hate both plotlines here, they both suck. The Harry and Cisco one less so, but it still is bad! It's just a rip off of the Council of Wells. Frying Harry's brain was the worst decision this show made, it completely ruined his character! And then there's the main storyline...oh no. This was not good. This was good one bit. I don't need to explain why Team Flash teaming up with Amunet Black is a bad idea but here we are. I think Amunet is at her absolute worst in this episode in particular! She takes up the most screentime and acts the most obnoxious in this episode! I was fighting the urge to punch the screen everytime her stupid little face popped up. So eargrating, irritating, annoying, and obnoxious! Add to this season's never ending garbage pile!

3.5/10-aRrOwCuRsE Episode.
