If you read the title "Shakira Feat. Wyclef Jean: Hips Don't Lie", then you already have all the basic information I guess, namely the 2 singers and the name of their song. But as this is the movie database here, of course we are talking about the music video and it got directed by prolific music video director Sophie Muller, who most prominently worked on many occasions with Annie Lennox and No Doubt. All this was released back in 2006 and this means that it is already over a decade old. Since its upload on Shakira's official Youtube channel, this has gotten over half a billion clicks which says all about the popularity. I like it too. Shakira has always been breathtakingly stunning in my opinion and here we got the evidence. Columbia's finest. Her range may not be gigantic, but the color and tone of her voice are very easy on the ears and have strong recognition value also. What Wyclef adds to the song isn't shabby eithern and I am saying this as someone who likes the Fugees of course, so slightly biased. Anyway, this is all about Shakira though and seeing her is infinitely better than just hearing her. This song received multiple awards and was a big success over ten years ago and I am not too surprised. It is fairly catchy and fun to listen to. Great maybe not, but I still give it a thumbs-down. Go check this one out. A little over 3.5 minutes I very much recommend.
