Engaging and not as easy as some movies to figure out the plot and outcome ahead of time. Enjoyed the movie

I always enjoy the story line of the movies and find them entertaining. What I don't enjoy is the costume design. I am sorry to whoever you are but it actually distracts me from fully engaging in the shows. Kelly Martin, especially, looks awful in most of her clothing. I feel like there are so many other options that would look more flattering on her. Additionally, some of the of the other female actors wear odd combinations. Anyhow, I should be able to watch and not be distracted by wardrobe. Sorry...

Enjoyable Movie

Enjoyed the movie and characters. Enjoyed the story. I do agree with first comment regarding wardrobe for cast members it was odd selections and distracting like the teal dress in her office. Looked like a formal occasion dress.

Deadly scam
bkoganbing12 June 2017
With some leftover issues from the previous Hailey Dean Mystery, Deadly Estate finds our former prosecutor turned psychotherapist now involved in looking for her friend Michelle Harrison settle her estate. With both parents now deceased and Harrison wants to sell the old family home now worth a few pretty pennies. I can identify with that as my brother had to do the same thing. Neither of us had a boyfriend who was a real estate broker to help push things a long who is played here by Jim Thorburn.

But in the middle of selling Harrison disappears, Thorburn is nearly hit by a car and Hailey's new boyfriend Matthew McCaul of the Medical Examiner's office nearly dies from a poisoning.

Kellie Martin is now hip deep involved and appears to be in the middle of all this. The solution however exposes a pair of criminals involved in a very deadly scam.

Martin is a calm and very plucky heroine. Still she has unresolved issues from the Hailey Dean story and it looks like she will be dealing with them for the foreseeable future.

Fans will look forward.

Hailey Dean Mysteries
kdcjeep-993907 April 2024
All of Hailey Dean Mysteries and new ones should be on Hallmark. Love her mysteries and her acting in law. By working in law enforcement and retiring in it, it will stay in your blood. Their were good times and bad times, but very interesting every day. I respect the law and bless the American flag with honor. By working twenty five years, it was worth it. Hailey Dean's mysteries keep you glued to the television and waiting to see the next movie. She found her calling with this type of film. I pray that she will keep doing these mysteries on Hallmark. I see that a marathon of your movies is on this weekend.

Life is short and we all deserve to be happy.

"When you asked me out tonight, I was 99% sure that breaking and entering wasn't part of the plan."-Jonas "It's not breaking and entering if you have a key and you are a close friend, and you're not going to steal anything."-Hailey "Yeah, I'm sure that's written in to the Georgia penal code."-Jonas

This is the 2nd entry in the Hailey Dean mysteries in which Hailey, former special prosecutor for district attorney's office turned counselor meets friend Pam post her parents death. Pam is a professor and in the process of using a estate agent to sell her parents home and household items. She has struck up a relationship with her real estate agent, which leads to a double date with Hailey and Jonas. Pam goes missing and Hailey is convinced there is foul play. She ropes her friends and Jonas in to helping her find her friend.

In the process Hailey and Jonas commit a dubious break in to Pam's house which could cost Jonas his Medical Examiner's job and causes a bit of a riff in their growing relationship.

This episode starts and end with Hailey remembering the night that her ex, Will, was shot and killed in front of her. But this time she remembers a critical detail in which she thinks the killer was after her and that it wasn't just a random crime...news which she shares with Will's brother the police officer.

I still find the best part of this series to be the character of Jonas, who gets to both be deeply and sweetly caring in addition to adding some comic relief. By far he has some of the best lines in the series.

"You shouldn't be with anyone who won't accept your baggage. We wouldn't be human if we didn't have any."-Jonas

Why?
woot-8778131 March 2019
Hallmark keeps pushing Kellie Martin, I'm not sure why. I was hoping her acting would improve from Mystery Woman days, but it did not. Her portrayal of the psychologist is flat and boring. I'll leave it at that. Other members of the cast do what they can to hold it up.

ZZZzzzzzzzz.......

OMG Kellie Martin has to be the most boring actress I've ever seen! No facial expressions, no personality, just deadpan all the way through. Except I couldn't get all the way through. I couldn't stay awake and I wasn't even tired, just bored to tears. I decided my time was more valuable than to waste it on Kellie Martin movies.

Deadly Estate
coltras354 July 2023
Former prosecutor turned therapist Hailey Dean is approached by her friend Pam to help sell her late parent's estate which she has inherited. But when Pam suddenly disappears Hailey finds herself using her old skills along with some old contacts to investigate what is going on, something which the police believe is connected to a former boyfriend. But at the same time having started dating Dr. Jonas McClellan Hailey finds herself dealing with the memories of the past and the death of her former boyfriend in a shooting.

A less lighthearted mystery but adequate in terms of acting and story - it's mildly interesting, has a neat twist, however it can be a bit flat, lacking some liveliness. Also Kellie Martin comes across pushy and annoying with those deadpan expression. Her character lacks some spark.
